Yeah I tried arguing about them making up a made up concept but they wouldn't listen and just said its a theory its fine

It's also like, KH has "complex" lore when you take a step back but generally they sort of go for the easiest explanation

There was probably one or two "better" means of having Ansem back for KH3D and KH3. But the easiest explanation was just time travel

what kept getting me was how he said "think like nomura bro" as if he himself somehow has the complete and utter understanding of nomura's mind

There's probably a bunch more interconnected and complex means of bringing Roxas back, like using Data Twilight Town. But they just had them find a replica body pre-made

I utterly hate this thinking

not because i have consumed nomura and nojima works for 90% of my life and feel particularly slighted when someone says this But because it's just so smug

And also like, just blatantly untrue. I hate treating KH like a bit complicated interwoven thing where everything ever matters

Nomura is not remembering a random bit of dialogue that Jun Akiyama wrote back in KH1 dawg

I also rememeber a bunch of KH3-era theories

And like, most of the shit that game did was stuff they kind of just made up and introduced in the same game

Cause that's just how KH does things

Its how every fiction works and i wish more people realized it

like yeah, kingdom hearts does like to pull from things in old games and sometimes theyre quick little bits and other times they're a brand new essential meaning to it, but either way the story is mostly self contained using concepts introduced in the game itself

i will say though, KH4 being the beginning of a new saga feels strange to me considering how much homework you'll need to even understand half of it

I've been largely on the hopium train when it comes to KH4's storytelling

And I will take Nomura at his word

Especially getting new writers on board to help with just that

I sort of liken it to KH2 being still accommodating to newcomers

Even with two games behind it

Everyone needs re-introduced and stuff

I don't personally think they'll go with the no memories thing like a lot of people have suggested, but I think that outside of 'needed' references, they will reintroduce everything as needed
