Utada Hikaru is involved in the theme song for Kingdom Hearts III

Update: Unfortunately, there was a misunderstanding and Utada Hikaru's father interpreted the question wrong. It is currently undecided whether or not Utada will be returning for Kingdom Hearts III.

Utada Hikaru's father has confirmed via Twitter that the singer will be involved in the theme song for Kingdom Hearts III.

Utada Hikaru previously sang the theme songs for Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II, Hikari / Simple and Clean and Passion / Sanctuary in both Japanese and English, respectively. These songs have reappeared as the theme songs later in the series, but a new Utada song for the series has not been created since Kingdom Hearts II.

When asked by a fan if she was involved with the theme song for Kingdom Hearts III, her father simply replied "Yes."

Although I am hoping for a new theme song, I am expecting both Sanctuary and S&C to appear as well.

..... :'] Fuuuuuuuu** yes! I fell in love with KH2 because of her song before I even knew Wtf was going on in that game, I was 10 then lol.

Funny, today I was trying to get Sanctuary on my MP3 by using Soundcloud. Great website btw. Anybody know some good songs similar to Sanctuary on that site? :) Trying to get inspiration to start up my fanfic again. :/

As Hades said in KH2, "Could this day get ANY better HAHAHA" :D . Thank you Utada, you just made KH3 10x more awesome than it was before. Can't wait to hear the new theme song. Bet it's going to kickass just like the others.

Good Choices but a new song wouldn't be bad. Something written & composed just for KH3.

Simple and clean/Sanctuary were songs before kingdom hearts so i doubt it

Nah...Simple and Clean was released in 2002 and Passion/Sanctuary was released in 2005 same years the games(KH1&KH2) were released

Doubt it because it's fanmade. The song is a remix of Final Distance.

Its a well made remix, i think it could be used.

People though Square wouldn't pay her enough. It would be a very honor to sing it.

I would like that kind of remix from final distance but not reversed. That part ruined the song.

Really glad that we aren't getting a regurgitated version of "Sanctuary" or "Simple and Clean" again for Kingdom Hearts 3.

It will be strange to hear a new theme song but if it is as good as other theme songs then it would be the best!

Don't firetruck this up Disney! Pay Utada what she deserves for her music!  And I'm really happy to hear she's returning.  It wouldn't be the same with another singer.
