Its been a while
 

This is going to seem really random but it's been something that's actively been popping up for me and I've always felt a bit bad for not doing.
About 6 or 7 years ago when I was a teenager I was a very active member on this site and I was part of an absolutely incredible community here full of wonderful people it's something I've never forgotten and something that had a profound effect on me and did help me get through a lot of shit for a couple of years just being able to come on and be part of something as close as this, I'm not sure if it's the same now but it used to be like a second family coming here.
Just wanted to take the time to say thank you so much to anyone who remembers and to this site, it wasn't by choice that I had to drop off the site my internet was taken from me when I was about 17 and I've felt bad about falling out of it without saying anything ever since
Thank you to anyone who was part of that community and the members I was closest too (especially Xiro, *rikku*, blue Keyblade, RoxSox, and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone but the friends list feature wasn't there to check and make sure!) for being such a wonderful part of my teenage life : ) so glad to see this place still doing so well hope you're all still keeping and doing well! : )

I'm Weedanort, and I've been a member of this forum for 7 years now. I'm a 22 years old dude from Portugal, and I work at a local school as a secretary. Yes, there are male secretaries x)

 

I was a Moderator here between 2013-2016, but due to inactivity (And the fact that I was an Admin in a Team Fortress 2 community server), I was dropped from the Staff. But since the server I was Staff in got shut down, I'm here again, and ready to be a part of this community again!

 

I know that I missed 2.8's launch, and hopefully I won't miss Kingdom Hearts 3's launch!

pretty much all the games i had one ps1 gex, ape escape, toy story 2(maybe because the level in kingdom hearts made me think of it...shut up!) mega man legends, legend of dragoon, the grandia series, tomba 1 and 2, monster rancher 1 and 2,  the dark clouds,  don't get me started! oh and if sony hadn't planned on it already medievil 2 since the first is being remakestered

Part 1 of a series of essays analysing all the official (and maybe even unofficial?) version of Xion's theme throughout and outside the series. Was my first time ever doing something like this, so I hope it's enjoyable enough! I think I did a pretty good job though. Let me know what you guys thought!

It's that time of year again where I subject you all where I encourage you all to participate in the newest KH13 Pokemon Tournament! Consider it a back-to-school treat for all you netizens. 

As always, we shall be hosting it on the online simulator - Pokemon Showdown - which means, yep! No carts or consoles necessary! Just a pc/phone and an internet connection. 
It'll be hosted from the 1st September to the 8th September 2019 so that's just under a fortnight to prepare and we will be playing Gen 7 doubles OU and Z CRYSTALS WILL BE BANNED. SO DON'T TRY IT. IF YOU DO YOU'LL BE DISQUALIFIED.
As always the bracket will be posted on challonge and will be updated ASAP, and I've put together a quick guide just in case you've never used Showdown before:
To challenge a user, click on "Find a user", type their name, and click on challenge. AND DON'T FORGET, when you challenge someone showdown sets the format to random battles by default. Make sure you change it to Doubles OU like so:

It's actually accurate to call them spin-offs. However, we need to make clear of the definition of a "spin-off".
A spin-off is a work that is derived from existing works, telling a story in a different aspect but in the same setting. A spin-off can then either choose to either deviate completely from the main storyline or to remain in it. In the case of the KH series, the spin-offs focus on characters other than the main protagonist Sora (except for Re:CoM and DDD), telling their sides of the story while at the same time, expand the plot of the Dark Seeker Saga (up to KHⅢ) without deviating from it. Re:CoM serves as the bridge between the first two mainline games while the others introduce the background of characters (and are also the bridges between KHⅡ and KHⅢ) and eventually, everything converges and culminates in KHⅢ.
So calling them as spin-offs is not wrong. It's just that people have the misconception that "spin-offs" are supposed to have nothing to do with the main narrative and so the spin-offs of the KH series are supposed to be unimportant. Then, they complain that the spin-offs are too closely tied to the mainline games. It just doesn't make sense.
