  1. Ok who's the one wise-guy who voted for Donald running away in the Musketeers world? Well anyway, for me it's definitely his reaction to Goofy still being alive, it really shows off the bond between them...in his own "Donald way". X)"
  2. Actually, there are THREE LA concerts. One is tomorrow, the second is on Sunday (the one I'm going to), and the third is this Wednesday.
  3. I mean, personally, I still prefer Xenoverse/Xenoverse 2's gameplay style, I feel it combines the fighting and adventure aspects of the series in a great way that makes for a much more complete Dragon Ball experience. Of course, for those who just love the fighting and nothing else, this is probably going to be a dream come true. I'm just not that much of a fan of more traditional 2D (or uh, 2.5D in this case I guess) fighting games, because I'm just not that kind of gamer, whenever I play with my friends I can only button mash and hope for the best since I can't commit those combos to memory for crap. I'll still buy and likely enjoy this since it's Dragon Ball and I don't have anything against the genre itself, I just probably won't replay it as much as I do Xenoverse 2. I will say this though, the only gripe I ever had with the Xenoverse series is the limitation of the roster and a limitation to how many special movies you can take into battle, so if this game can at least give me a much larger and more satisfying roster and of course have each version of each character have all of their moves straight from the get-go with an easier way to memorize and execute them, then it might actually give me an enjoyable alternative experience to Xenoverse 2. Though of course, if it does succeed there, the only next logical step to me would be combining the best of both games in the future.
  4. If that's how you want to paint it, then sure.
  5. Sorry, I don't see it that way. This honestly doesn't feel like a situation where that would actually be an issue. It can be an EXCUSE, but it's a very weak one. Sora would not be out of place in that setting in the slightest, and saying that there is no possibility whatsoever that he is going to ever be in there is just narrow-minded to me. That's just where I stand and obviously nothing you say is going to convince me otherwise, so I'd just leave it at that.
  6. The game series still features characters that originated from T to M rated games, I think the "think of the children" argument is a pretty worn out one. It's not like everyone's cursing or bleeding in KH, sure, but the fact is that if Disney is trying to hide behind the excuse that "we only do things for children" while making PG-13 movies and associating with another company's franchise that can already get a little mature on it's own, they've officially lost any benefit of the doubt I may have given them. They're just being foolish while thinking they're playing it safe, nothing more to it.
  7. Not really much of a controversy if you ask me, lots of people want them to come back, me included. I just think that some people would prefer them "gone" either because they feel satisfied with their narratives ending in tragedy (I mean, uh, harsh, but I guess it's still a pretty powerful narrative that way), or they are just tired of having so many splintered versions of the same characters to keep track of and worry about. At least, that's what I'm assuming, that may not be it at all. But I will say that wanting to leave their stories in tragedy because it felt "satisfying" is not a legitimate excuse to never have that character come back for a second chance in getting actual closure. I debated with someone a while back about why I felt that it'd be nice to have Riku Replica come back as one of the Seekers (I mean Dream Drop Distance was kind of subtly teasing that depending on how you read the "second Riku" in Monstro situation, but as a defense, the Chain of Memories memento was unlocked during that scene, sooooo....), and his argument against that was that his story was "meant to end in tragedy" and that it was already handled in a "satisfying manner" so there would be "no point" in having him come back. Okay, well by that logic Xion's end was "more impactful" with the idea that she could never come back, but already they are heavily hinting at the idea that she is one of several characters that need to be saved and even deserve to be their own people (that's how Sora felt about Roxas, all he would have to do is learn who Xion is and he'd essentially feel the same way). So how is it that one replica's tragic end is more worth continuing after than the other? I get that Xion had a bit more impact over her game's story than Riku Replica did, but they still didn't deserve being used as tools, and I would argue that Xion found even more closure at the end than Riku Replica did, and HE'S the one who doesn't deserve to come back and get some actual closure? It's a faulty argument because just because something as a story worked well in one way doesn't mean that it should be left alone to be done well in other ways in other stories later. You could argue that the original Star Wars trilogy was left well enough alone to begin with, but we already have some pretty decent and enjoyable stories now with the more recent movies, if we were really supposed to just leave everything alone and be perfect, we would be seriously limited in our options. Sorry if that felt like it was getting off track for a bit, I only bring it up because I wanted to stress that I don't think there is anything wrong with the idea of...well, since "death" is rarely a thing in this series, lets just call them "out of commission". Anyway, I don't think there's anything wrong with the idea of OOC characters coming back to get some proper closure (or retribution/redemption in Riku Replica and even Vanitas' case), especially not when it's something that they've damn well earned and deserved for a good while now. Especially not when it opens up for so many other possibilities. Roxas, Xion, and Namine I feel are the characters who unquestionably deserve this second chance the most. Yeah you could try and make a case for Riku Replica and Vanitas to "stay where they are" and "their stories are over" and all that, but the series has made it expressly clear that they intend to do more with Roxas, Xion, and Namine, at the very least. All these characters have "serviceable" endings, but not truly "satisfying" endings. If Ansem the Wise gets to have not one, but TWO ways of getting a second chance to make things right that makes up for his past mistakes (one in supporting Aqua, the other in providing data to Riku), then surely these 5 offshoots of the core principle cast of the series deserve to get the same chance. There's plenty of opportunity to make interesting stories out of this, I don't see the reason in denying it.
  8. Hmm, no idea what that new title would be. As much as my inner fanboy wants to imagine it's another KH title, there really isn't anything left at this point that could be explored that would preoccupy us til KH3. If anything it's either another big Final Fantasy-based title (either numbered or spin-off) or some new title entirely. Or it could also be a sequel to another SE property, I mean it's easy to forget that Square has other franchises under it's many many belts that aren't Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts.
  9. I can't stress enough how much that pisses me off. Like what logic is there in that? Your characters are already fighting other Final Fantasy characters in your own games, what makes the prospect of having just one or two of them in a FF fighting game unappealing to you!? It's not like you're throwing Donald and Goofy into a pit with Sephiroth to die or anything, you'd be using Sora, the character that was designed to fight off FF and Disney characters alike! The hypocrisy just baffles me!! Still, there may be a light at the end of this tunnel, with KH3 on the horizon, maybe Disney will be a little more keen to take whatever chances they can to promote KH in some small ways. I mean they featured Sora as a summonable champion in World of Final Fantasy, it's not too different from what you would do here. I mean, yeah I understand there's a fundamental difference in genre here, tactical rpg vs rpg-styled fighting game, but it's still the same in spirit, it's Sora being thrown into a crossover FF game, it shows that they are capable of letting go of the idea that they need to keep Sora away from anything that is not strictly Kingdom Hearts. It doesn't necessarily guarantee that Sora would be featured in Dissidia NT (if anything they could still be dicks and keep him out of it, making the double-standard even more frustrating), but it at least shows that there's slightly more hope of it being a possibility than before. Or at least, as much hope as there was for Sora potentially being in Smash 4 with the fan-voting, and even then that didn't turn out that way. I'm just saying it feels less like a "99% NO" now and more like a "75-80% No". But Sora not being in this is one thing, I can understand and live with that (begrudgingly), but if they don't add Noctis into this at any time, I'm going to be convinced that both Disney AND Square have lost their marbles, may as well not have Link in Super Smash Bros 5 while you're at it.
  10. That's ridiculously good! Really wish I had submitted something now that I know that this was a thing. As far as how KH has affected my life, it is essentially one of my core ingredients, leave out Kingdom Hearts and you essentially have a incomplete me on your hands. It really helped me cope with the prospect of making a life for myself after me and my family moved away when I was 10, though I didn't really start playing the series until I was around 12 or so. Still, I don't move on from huge sudden difficult changes that easily, so even 2 years in the move was still affecting me (not to mention, middle school always helps in trying to find reasons to be a miserable tweenager), so KH really became an outlet for me to be able to get by day by day as I slowly acclimated to my new home. By the time I was in high school, I was already pretty much obsessed with the series and hung on to every announcement, and shamelessly bought every Final Mix that was available. I discovered the Sonic series around that time too, and it's just as essential to my spiritual makeup as KH is, but KH to me truly represents this idea of being grabbed out of a comfortable life and thrown into a strange unfamiliar world that still has the potential to result in a wondrous amazing adventure filled with possibilities, learning experiences, and new friends waiting to be made. It also kind of became my gateway into the Fandom scene in general, so because of it I've opened up to other series and fan communities as well. In short, Kingdom Hearts really helped me expand my world, which I feel is fitting for what the series is about. So while I may not get to say this to Nomura directly, I can at least have a chance to give my gratitude to Yoko Shimomura, as KH has also helped lead me to seek out video game soundtracks, and I just can't not have any KH music on my phone at any time (tho it'd certainly be nice if they would just put them all up on iTunes already. It'd be nice to actually support these artists with my money for once AND it would be a much more convenient method of accessing them than having to get a new downloader app every year or so ).
  11. Actually this is just a preview, it doesn't sound like the whole theme, but regardless, it is pretty interesting. I'll admit, the lyrics aren't the most inspired of Sonic lyrics, but the overall theme is still pretty catchy and I still like that last 3rd of the lyrics. Plus, between Classic's techno and synth and Modern's rock and orchestral elements, giving the Hero character a more dance-mix almost J-pop kind of aesthetic with lyrics really fits, especially since as a custom character they probably won't speak for themselves in cutscenes, so it really helps to have lyrics that kind of speak those thoughts for them (which I guess would kind of explain the "generic-ness" of the lyrics, since like the character they sort of need to be a "catch-all" kind of thing that could literally come from anybody). In any case, I too can't wait to hear the rest of the sound track. I just really hope Classic's music is much more fitting in other stages, or that they at least change his Green Hill theme, it still sounds way too off for me.
  12. I mean, all of those really, but just like salads, trailers can mean anything. You could have a whole trailer with bits and pieces of gameplay, developer interviews, and release dates within itself, so really asking for a trailer can sometimes be just as good as asking for more information in general. But I also have no doubt that we will be getting plenty of the other things as well.
  13. The idea that anybody was seriously fooled with these screenshots just makes me facepalm as I remember how relatively young and naive our fanbase is compared to others out there. Still, at least nobody is an asshole like in the Sonic fandom, it can be really hard to have a rational conversation over there. But anyway, yeah clearly fake, I mean there's just obvious, and then there's just post-April 1st levels of obvious jokiness.
  14. Eh, if you show too much, then nothing is left to surprise anyone with. Yeah drought season is a pain in the ass, but E3 is literally less than 2 weeks away, they're bound to show something that will tide us all over for another few months. Yes I would like it if Nomura was a little more open and interactive with the fans every now and then like Tabata or Sakurai were, I just don't want it in the form of showing us a new screenshot or tech demo every day or every month or so. Just give us some acknowledgement that he is excited and proud of the fan base and that it's our energy as fans that is giving life to KH. Maybe just a new KH sketch or drawing every other week or so, that would be fine with me. I'm not asking for anything lofty like a new screenshot of KH3 every day.
  15. Roxas storming (literally, lol) The City That Never Was to confront the Organization and free Kingdom Hearts...right before a bunch of Neoshadows and Riku blocked his path, lol. Pretty much that whole segment was great from start to finish. I really hope someday both 358/2 Days and Re:Coded get remade into full-on playable HD remakes for the PS4 because moments like those really deserve to be recaptured and experienced in full effect in the best quality possible. Plus it would have been nice if there were a few more maps to use the overpowered Dual-Wield mode in, that was way too short-lived.
  16. Huh, a lot more positive than I was expecting. Then again, maybe that's just what happens when you actually think and assign the right people to the right games to cover, IGN. Who would have thought that getting an actual KH fan to talk about KH like an actual KH fan would make your video so less toxic? Okay, all salt aside, it was a pretty nice video, and it pretty much hits the mark with what most of us are thinking with KH's presence at E3 this year. This really would be the year to drop something huge and exciting on everyone in regards to KH3, since A) it's the 15th anniversary, B) there's literally no other KH titles you could distract us with at this point (unless you were crazy enough to try Days and Re:Coded as full remakes, but that'd just be crazy to attempt right now), and C) there really hasn't been too much shown off about it in the last 12 months or so. So with all that in mind, this really is the prime magic hour to reveal some really huge and awesome news about KH3, something that in of itself will justify the remaining wait on it's own (because again, pretty much no new titles you can distract us with anymore, we're pretty much waiting on KH3 now).
  17. Literally the movie I have been waiting for since 2014.
  18. I'm not one to jump right ahead onto every rumor train that speeds by out of nowhere, but considering all of this, I'd say it's very possible it is what you pointed out it might be. I mean, I really don't believe in coincidence that much when it comes to certain things in this series. I mean, to a degree anyway, I'm not posting crazed theories about mythological connections every other week or something, but for certain things like this, this feels a little too specific to be a coincidence. I mean if it really does turn out to be the Star Command symbol like you said (in fact actually I kind of saw that better in the image BEFORE you circled it for some reason), then a Toy Story Keyblade? A Toy Story Attraction Flow? Yeah, there's very little room for there to be no Toy Story when you already have two gameplay mechanics dedicated to it, odds are it might finally be in there if this observation turns out to be accurate. I'm sure there's still room for this to be something else and maybe we are just misinterpreting what is actually there, but for now I'd say it's a pretty interesting possibility, to say the least.
  19. OOOOHHHHHH, okay then! Can't wait to see you all! X3
  20. Really hope so. As much as I still want to see him, Xion, and Axel be happy together again, I don't want Hayner, Pence, and Olette to be forgotten either. I really would like to see an actual friendship between those four, heck with Axel and Xion included (if they're willing to let bygones be bygones for kidnapping Kairi, lol). Namine deserves to be in there too. There's just so many loose ends to tie up with Roxas that I really hope they don't just think that all he needs is Axel and Xion and suddenly everything is all hunky-dory. Sora has made plenty of friendships over the years, I think Roxas is at least owed to have access to all of his friends as well.
