Well I remember past Nomura interviews where he discussed things like since he couldn't make KH3 anytime soon he decided to make the side games to appease the fans and to help test new things he wanted to try for future games like KH3. Imagine not having any KH games at all since KH2- that was years and years ago and potentially could've caused more fans to lose interest. Then there is all the new fans some of these side games brought into the series and the exposure they brought. He also got to explain a lot of backstory he wanted to through the side games. Did he over-do that and make things more complicated than need be? Yes I believe so. Especially with the last couple of games imho. So really there has been some pros and not just cons to all these side games. (personally BBS is one of my favs)

Hecka yes they are needed! the so called "side-games" are not really side games in my opinion. They add to the lore of the entire series. They're the reason why we know so much more about the characters we come to know and love. The first time you play KH2 you'd think that Roxas is an 'ok' character but since you don't really know that much about him to relate to him, you're just really scratching the surface. After knowing more about Roxas after playing days you'd come to deeply connect with him and find his presence in KH2 more meaningful (Roxas why?? D;)
 
Seriously, If you didn't know about CoM before playing Kh2 you're already hella lost. who the heck is Namine? Diz the hell is that?  Wait why is Sora sleeping in a pod? He doesn't have any memories? whoa Riku's back from the realm of Darkness.. whaaat? Good luck trying to understand KH3 without playing/bothering to know about the 'side-games'.
 
I actually want people who have only played 1&2 to record their time playing KH3. for funsies. their confusion would immensely please me mwahahahahahaha!!!

@OP Whether they're necessary or not or whatever is pretty subjective (although most people agree that coded has little story substance, DDD is a mind-frick, etc), but for me, I wouldn't have gotten into the series without Days and re:coded (since I started out with basically just a DS), so I'm pretty grateful that the current non-numbers were made

But I say that you have potential, and lots of it!  You have to look at yourself in the mirror and say that you're a person who can do anything you set your mind to!  Own your fears, own your insecurities and stand up for yourself, show everyone else that you can do what they think you can't do!  Sure, it can be hard, and it can downright be frustrating, but hey, you just have to keep going, no matter what happens!  Learn to have confidence in yourself, and always remember that you have a purpose! Never think that you're not good enough!  Always think good of yourself, ya know?
 
Things may be complicated, scary even, but you just have to keep moving forward and don't let fear rule your life, ya know?  Don't let people tell you that you are or aren't good enough!  Whatever you do, do it for yourself, for your own desire to persevere!

Well I think you need to stop comparing yourself to others and just be the best "Joan" you can be. If you are negative and think the worst from the start you have already made it harder on yourself to achieve anything and are your own worst enemy. Remember, what you think might come easy for everyone else might not be the case bc everyone has their own private struggles and it's how you approach them and what you do about them that makes or breaks you. Don't sabotage yourself with negativity from yourself or even others. I always find that some of my best accomplishments were achieved when everyone thought I couldn't. Not everything will go your way and instead of wallowing in your own sorrow it's best to brush it off and move on to a new way to achieve what you want. Perseverance and the right attitude will get you many places my friend. Chin up

Quite upsetting that it didn't get localised, but at least we got Unchained X.

At least Unchained is here. I just hope that lasts for quite a while.
 
  
 

Well, that's his opinion. He's has a right to hate on Kingdom Hearts if he wants to. People should just leave other people alone when they are voicing their opinion of something they hate. (That doggone song "Hater's Are Going To Hate" is in my head right now...)

Vocals are not the only way one can measure tone. Choice of words and phrasing are indication enough on their own.
 
As it stands, it was obvious bait, and people seemed hungry for it, so it's mostly just a self fulfilling prophecy about IGN's attitude towards Kingdom Hearts.

Sorry to hear that you are going through hard times right now. However, I have seen a lot of people be supportive and caring towards you including myself. I have always tried to be there for you and so have others. I do not know of anyone personally who have turned their backs on you for merely leaving the mod team but I do know a lot of those older mod members you used to work with aren't even here anymore. I have seen you come and go numerous times - most with no goodbyes or explanations. You just disappeared. I have my own health issues myself and the many times i was gone or hospitalized I let my friends know. Friendships are a two way street and constantly disappearing and reappearing on people who care about you can damage friendships and create hurt feelings. When it's constantly repeated it should be no surprise when people do become more distant. Especially if they felt their friendships weren't valued enough to warrant a goodbye every time you disappeared, which is often. This does not mean no one cares. People do care.
   If some people have become distant I don't think it's bc you are sick and have health issues. I have a chronic health issue and if anything people became more supportive and caring towards me here.    That said, there are plenty of people that care and support you here and this thread is a great example. I myself have always tried to be there for you when you needed me. I know other people here also can say the same thing. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you the best.

You must be going through a rough time if you've really gotten to this point. Even though it isn't nice to blame others for not caring, you may be right and people don't contact you, but I honestly think that it's mainly because most of them have left the site. Moreover, if you will feel better leaving the site, do so, this site isn't everything.
 
Farewell, and I'm glad you had someone like Steve by your side, he's a really nice guy. I hope you get better and hopefully see you around here in some time!

No matter how much you may believe nobody cares about you or would want to, that's entirely false. In fact, it's only your own mind tricking/deceiving you into believing this. If I recall correctly, your username was once Cricket. I know for a fact that you had friends that cared about you. Lack of activity is not them wanting to neglect you, it's them doing something they don't fully understand/realize.
 
I believe you had many friends, such as people like Sora96 and as you've stated SteVentus. These people definitely cared about you.
 
I don't know about your current mental condition, but I know it's interfering with your ability to see that no one has turned away. I'm sure reaching out to everyone you know to help you will at least calm your nerves a bit.
 
In short, you have friends that care about you, make no mistake. I hope you feel better, and hope you return to the forums.

Third-person shooting elements, what look to be much improved ship segments, and Multi-Builds that can hopefully let you actually strategize all seem really fascinating to me. Plus, they talked a little about the non-movie levels, so maybe the people who whined about a lack of content from just one movie can shut up about it.

As a reptile-lover, I chose very carefully. And I think I'd have to be Red Yoshi. Although I am a huge Veemon fan and my other favorite color is Blue, I just seem to admire Red Yoshi the most. Smash Bros., Yoshi's Island, Mario Kart, Yoshi's Story, I can't help but play as Red Yoshi! Also, I like the blue shoes that go with him.

also some substantial character development for Sora cuz he's been severely lacking in that department compared to characters like Riku and AxelLea

Xehanort knew in DDD when they all gathered in TWTNW that they were only meeting to welcome the last and thirteenth member. He used TWTNW bc of it's special properties as an inbetween world to do this. I imagine Xehanort has this planned out for them to regather the same way when the destined time arrives for the destined clash aka keyblade war prolly using the same method he did when they gathered in DDD. He only needs to regather them in an inbetween world to accomplish this. There are many of these. He also does not need to "re-nort" anyone. They are already norted or are norts. He only needs one more vessel.
