  1. All we know is what we've seen from leaked screenshots, ,mostly the back of the doll and from people's comments. Whilst, she wasn't too challenging to beat, the fight was unsettling as she was very creepy and disturbing. Apparently it wasn't shown as it had major plot relevance, rather than the Gigas scene which we have seen. I do wish we could see it though, I'm intrigued by the 'disturbing' aspect of it as none of the bosses have had that impact as such before.
  2. Mostly because it does look like a car key, I like the simple design of it and how it doesn't need to be flashy to be effective. That and I also have an Initial D guilty pleasure and I'm semi seriously hoping for a car transformation and some KH Eurobeat. Sora: " Xehanort is too far away we will never reach him in time" Riku: * keyblade transforms to a car and Eurobeat comes on* " get in"
  3. In relation to your nobody point, all the darknesses have become nobodies again, so where we have seen members of the SoD, like Xigbar in Olympus, Luxord in PotC, I think it's a safe assumption that the nobody types they control will return.
  4. Whilst you could argue that Riku's portrayal in the latest trailers allude to this, with him appearing to have been defeated by Aquanort and the symbolism of Replica Riku, where all hearts return to darkness and being a potential fragment of his imagination (I'm still hoping we see a parallel arc to Sora/Roxas to recognise him as an individual, however I think this is a red herring. Now whilst it would be ballsy to kill one of our Original Trio, I see Riku's arc mirroring Xehanort's where in the aftermath he will travel around the worlds and keep an eye on the darkness, whilst Sora will be the 'stay behind master'. In relation to death, there's no essential need to kill Riku off. Whilst I do agree that one of the major characters probably won't survive the game, I have a feeling we are in for an Aquanort twist. Then again, if they do give him the cliche sacrificial death sequence, then despite being predictable, I wouldn't be outraged/distraught.
  5. Coming from a Welshman what would be the point? The event was located in London, it's convenient not only from a UK perspective, but Northern European too. If London is an issue for you, then there's the potential in Birmingham. You can't expect SE to cater for every country or city.
  6. I'd be surprised if anything major appeared, I'm banking on TGS for that front. However, if we get any information marketing wise then that would be cool and make sense. I think the pre E3 focus has been to promote the demo and raise awareness at 'smaller events'. What wouldn't surprise me is an announcement for new information come September and another silhouette of Sora. Going back to the Orchestra Trailer last year. That way you keep people excited.
  7. I really hoped the mobile game would be a community within a community, rather than essential to the plot. What I'm hoping is the references are only towards the keyblade war, which we already knew about and the black box as this connects to M+P's earlier goals. I'm seriously hoping we don't have a 'Ven has a revelation and remembers where his book of prophecy is' moment etc as that would be 'messy' and the 'original' games already have loose ends.
  8. In relation to the handheld titles, my biggest gripe was how they were so scattered across too many devices. Prior to the remixes, I can sympathise with how difficult it was to keep up with the franchise and consequently how easy it was to miss titles accidentally or due to financial restriction. Another reason I think people 'devalue' the handheld titles is because they weren't 'KH3', now it's silly to compare games to something that until 2013 was not confirmed to exist, but you'll never remove fully the 'I've waited since 2006 for KH3 argument'.
  9. Thing with 'importance of games' is I find people base what they consider important based on how they find a particular game, hence why I've seen/heard CoM, Recoded and Days be viewed in less regard. I don't think it's a surprise that the numbered titles are held in such a high regard due to the gameplay experience, however we are dealing with a very heay plot driven franchise and it's wrong to exclude certain games. I agree with the majority of your points, but as with many things in this series we need to view things in context. In order to fully appreciate KH1, both BBS and 0.2 become essential, not only for understanding how our seemingly average character has been set up, but also to see this as an ongoing issue. Moving on, CoM sets up not only KH2, but continues an arc from BBS and coincides with Days and DDD. KH2 is the real 'middle piece' of the series and not only acts as a reflection on what has transpired since BBS and KH, but also sets up the tone for DDD and yes, re coded. Days provides backstory for Roxas, which whilst alluded to in KH2 was needed, plus we learn more about the Organisation and saw Namine's definition of being blurred as accurate. Now I'll include re:coded as it's own paragraph. Fundamentally what we have is a DS version of an episodic Japanese video game, now what do we expect from this? We essentially had a fun mobile version of KH1 (yes, people can argue Com was a GBA version of KH- that's reasonable), the overall goal was to essentially tell us what Mickey's letter said during the end sequence of KH2 and does it achieve that? Yes, now whilst it's route from A-B can be viewed as 'irrelevant', end of the game Mickey is able to tell Sora that numerous people connected to him are hurting and need his help, thus stating why a Mark of mastery is essential ( excluding the scene of Yen Sid telling Mickey OMX has returned, which again is crucial). Now whilst small, the plot isn't irrelevant nor less important. We needed a reason for Sora to leave DI, especially since his main goal in KH2 is to locate Riku and return home. During the Re Coded film, the two new cutscenes arguably added more importance, it built upon M+P's future goals, rather than be clowns and we also learn about the will of the keyblade and how this could connect back to the MoM and Xehanort. Now as a 'filler sequence' it does rank lower in my opinion than CoM and DDD, however it achieves it's purpose in telling us what Mickey's letter contained and why Sora left DI. DDD is significant for numerous reasons, not only do we learn about the whole lights vs darkness aspect, OMX return, but crucially the game didn't resolve an aspect which I feel many expected and that was the resolution of TAV. Things remained unclear and looking back we have to question whether Aqua was 'norted' by then or not, and if not then Terra's whereabouts are completely in the air.
  10. Hello all, More of a general discussion for you all today and that's what would you like to see in the remaining trailers for KH3? With the release date rapidly approaching and TGS on the horizon, it seemed a good time to raise this question with you all. I have a list of 5 things I would like to see (almost expect some of them) and in no particular oder, let us continue. 1) Big Hero 6 gameplay- This has been confirmed by Nomura, however after this time I m curious to see how big/accessible the world is and how many party members we have in the team? I'm not fussed by the plot aspect, but gameplay is essential. 2) Opening sequence- This was pretty neat in relation to 2.8 and I could easily see this working again, plus we could hear the faster version of the new song 3) Minigames- Whilst we have a trend of seeing new KBTs, I am very intrigued by the minigames, especially since they could potentially add 40 hours to our experience, for me personally I am actually looking forward to this part of KH3 and whilst there has been a brilliant joke 100 Acre Wood trailer, the time has come to reveal Pooh to us and a smaller mini game trailer seems perfect. 4) Other Playable character- We have had huge speculation about this for ages, is it riku? Kairi? YE or YX? I think the time has come to show us who this character is, in an ideal world I'd have a purely Xehanort trailer, revealing both OMX and then boom reveal YX as playable 5) A genuine shock- This is more for the final trailer, but I feel as if we need to end things on an absolute high which will make us immediately want answers, Aquanort was huge, but Nomura was right, we should have been quicker to see what was hinted, this surprise needs to be bigger and cause more of a reaction than Aqua. However, at the same time needs to be something plausible, I'm leaning towards a Ven or Terra reveal and then curtains as to speak. Imagine our last trailer ends with Ven beginning to open his eyes and we can't make out his colour.
  11. I remember as a 10 year old kid not understanding the game aspects at all, I got to Demyx with the Kingdom Key and zero abilities and getting destroyed by the 10 second time frame for ages. Then I realised I was being moronic and exported the features, plus as a rule of thumb I will always grind 10 levels on my opening world before progressing and then from there 3/5 levels per world. It allowed me more to focus on the plot and have an enjoyable time. The skip feature seems cheap, especially to those who grind and adapt their character, plus how what would you do on secret bosses? Also the Mickey gimmick was pretty cool, it was totally unexpected when it first appeared and it genuinely gave you a helping hand in the boss.
  12. I forgot about PatF, which would make sense as we don't have an anthropomorphic world yet, for me Monsters Inc seems to be the halloween town replacement. If we exclude Pooh, which I believe is certain to return, we probably have either 1 middle and 1 end world to come or two middles, I think they said Arendelle was a middle world, so if we have one more returning and then one more world, then that makes sense.
  13. Everything here is plausible, and I like how you mentioned Boo and the Olette concept is pretty neat. I wager we still have one returning world alongside a new world and I'm going to suggest Shanti from Jungle Book, I've explained my justification for JB numerous times. I also think our returning world will be Lilo and Stitch and if this is the case, I can see Lilo fulfilling the role. I don't believe however that both Anna and Elsa will be members, that seems too much of a cop out, however I believe that in the pursuit of Elsa, both Sora and Larxene will overlook Anna being the true light of that world.
  14. Hello all, My discussion today will be about the theme of KH3's introduction. What I mean by this is in the previous numbered instalments and I'll include BBS, there has always been a consistent theme which not only acts as a plot device, but also serves as a philosophical element. In KH we had the theme/s of 'exploration' and 'Growing Up'. The theme of exploration saw SRK want to seek the outside world and thus leave DI behind. Not only as players do we 'explore the island', but the signs of what to come are slightly revealed and in the end, their 'exploration' is forced upon them as DI falls to darkness. The theme of 'Growing Up' deals with SRK wanting to set out on their own and ultimately be independent, this theme is actually ironic as neither of the three do end up independent. Riku is easily tricked by Maleficent and later Ansem SoD, Kairi's heart rests inside Sora and thus needs him to release her heart in order to wake up and Sora's strength comes through his connections to his friends and especially DG, which is why come KH3 they are still together. The theme of KH2's introduction is both 'realisation' and 'identity'. The 'realisation' element is the fact that everything comes to an end, despite the kids' desire to remain together forever and enjoy ice cream, this isn't plausible. Not only as Hayner points out, people get older and circumstances change, but everything has a date. It's inevitable that nothing will last. The theme of 'identity' deals more specially with Roxas, (think when KH2 came out and not prior to days etc) trying to work out who he is. He keeps dreaming of Sora, finds out he can use a keyblade and cannot explain what is going on etc Then add the Axel case, which when we do include days is actually sad as both characters had a deep connection, then the realisation that you're not going to exist anymore. The scene where Roxas sees Sora in the pod is crucial as we finally see Roxas accepting that his vacation is over and Sora will be the one to 'continue.' The theme of BBS deals with 'dreams' where we have three friends all aiming to become keyblade masters. Aqua ultimately becomes successful, but ultimately this dream causes friction between the friends. Terra in his desire to succeed ends up falling into Xehanort's clutch and Ven defies Eraqus and Aqua to go after Terra. This theme remains in the plot as the eventual dream becomes for all three to be reunited, something which we know is very shaky (Unless this dream is realised through all being Xehanort possessions) Which brings us onto the theme of KH3. What will this actually be about? I believe we will see a parallel between the previous entries. I believe we will see the theme of 'desire' not only to become masters (mirroring BBS), but also knowledge. It's clear YE knows more than he reveals to YX during the chess match and it's clear YX gained this knowledge from somewhere/one, I believe in the intro we will see YE's desire to protect the light vs YX's desire for personal knowledge and eventually regarding the keyblade war. I believe we will eventually see the theme of fate, where we see YE named successor to the Land of Departure and YX depart to explore the worlds and thus seek knowledge. Thus seeing the two 'grow up' and seek the independence that will later divide their friendship. The theme of identity I believe will also come into play as I think we will see YX acquire No Name and almost 'complete the circle' if you like. It's interesting to consider that the themes always have a huge role in driving the narrative of the plot and also have a philosophical element to them too, even if my KH3 speculation is inaccurate, I'm, confident this pattern will continue in some capacity.
  15. I've gone for the more bizarre Hayner and Roxas combination. Ultimately, the introduction to KH2 was just fun. It also seemed the most realistic, a group of kids enjoying their summer before returning to school, plus I enjoyed the whole rival gang storyline too. You had Roxas not having a clue what was going on, whilst Hayner in his own standoffish way seemed to genuinely care about Roxas. Plus, the struggle was enjoyable, especially when you see Hayner seeming delighted about third place. Whilst, as we discovered it was in data TT, the two characters seemed to balance each other out and I don't think many can not relate to enjoying their time with their friends before starting school/uni etc again. I'd also include Olette and Pence too in the friendship group as Olette is the more sensible/sweet member and Pence seems laid back.
  16. The only way I can see this working is if she's a world within a world, more so as you explore an original world you encounter her and the children and tag along. That saying, as a Brit that film was a huge mockery of Victorian London and well they'd need decent VA. I do see the logic in this as there is a live action version in the works. However, if they want to give us a London world ( more so than Big Ben in KH), I'd advocate a Great Mouse Detective world. You can explore not only all aspects of the city, but include Big Ben, Buckingham Palace etc and then you could highlight a darker, rainy London and Basil as a party member seems more fun than a Nanny. If there is a desire to express London, Victorian Britain etc then at least use a property that isn't a blasted mockery. However, from a Non Brit aspect I don't suppose people care as much, all I'd say is imagine a supposed Wild West setting and the location and acting was not convincing at all, then would you really want that as a property used?
  17. I really hope Mary Poppins isn't a world, as a Brit, I always found the 'attempts' of Victorian London an absolute joke and there are surely loads of other worlds with better potential? Treasure Island, Atlantis, Robin Hood, The Great Mouse Detective, Pocahontas, The Black cauldron..... As a singing mini game world perhaps, but this just sounds like a seriously bad idea
  18. I still don't see why this trailer was kept secret for so long? We saw the majority of this at E3 and excluding Randall nd some Xigbar dialogue, nothing major seems important. Personally I'd have used this at the square Enix event; nonetheless thank you for sharing this- it's still good to see new information
  19. My 'breakdown' would be: 2/3 hours of Young Xehanort/Young Eraqus (playable) 30 hours of Sora going through the worlds ( including the Roxas arc) 5 Hours of another character ( Riku?) 5 hours for the Keyblade Graveyard section 2/3 hours- Final Battle
  20. EGX is on the 20th-23rd September in Birmingham, it's a possibility it will appear there.
  21. The Grid from DDD, I just found it absolutely dire, it wasn't always clear where to go, Riku's arc was mundane and after awhile even the soundtrack got irritating. It just seemed a huge downgrade from Space Paranoids in KH2. If we are talking about numbered titles, then Deep Jungle. I was not a fan of having to go back and forth all the time, or be forced into a 'minima' to try and save time. Also, for someone at the time who was not familiar with the concept of grinding or learning a specific game style to use, Clayton and the Stealth Sneak seemed too powerful for an earlier boss, especially without cure.
  22. excluding Jellied Eels, our cuisine isn't that bad, shame there isn't an appreciation for the UK
  23. That's what I was thinking too. I hated Ruler of the Sky with a passion, 45 mins it took me to beat that and this thing has 17 bars of health. If they insist on making us fly on the heartless to reach it, I'd rather go to Davy Jones' Locker
  24. I accept from the get go that this might appear initially a radical theory, but I ask people to hear me out and I'll explain. We know that the combined 20 people are needed to forge the X Blade. However, will they be our only participants? Actually, the evidence suggests not. I'll first refer us to the Xehanort Report V: 'few Keyblade wielders remain now; I have heard of but a handful of others outside my circle. But the world is vast and more of our kind may be out there.' Let's analyse this, I believe that Xehnort's circle is himself, Eraqus and Yen sid and consequently their apprentices. Who could the others be? I believe they are relics of the dandelions, either apprentices or the Dandelions themselves as we know that both Ven and Marluxia are Fairy Tale characters. How they 'awoke' from the Unchained Realm I don't know, I guess we need more UX Plot. Now why would they appear? Let us refer to something Vanitas says: 'Then Keyblade- bearing warriors will flock here from each and every one of them (worlds), to battle for for the light within Kingdom Hearts! And just like the legend says, the Keyblade War will begin!' If we believe this to be true, then why would they appear for the BBS war and not the KH3 war? The criteria would be fulfilled, the X Blade forged, Kingdom hearts unlocked and thus the keyblade war started. So it's logical that these warriors will appear for the Keyblade War. These unknowns would also explain a few odd elements of the plot, such as Triton knowing about the Keyblade and Genie hearing about the keyhole. Lastly and this is more speculation, but Square ran a competition a little while ago about being included in KH3, now for 'plot purposes' this wasn't revealed. Now many, including myself thought ' our names will be on the keyblades in the graveyard'. However, what if these people are the unknowns ( or at least a proportion) who will be participants in the Keyblade war? To conclude, there are more keyblade wielders in the world than we are aware of, if unlocking Kingdom Hearts attracts these warriors, then I believe that the final war will not simply be our 20 warriors, but a large number of warriors. Perhaps, this large scale battle is what Nomura meant when he referred to the ending? It would be unexpected, unlike what we've seen in the series before and would be a genuine war.
  25. It can't be rushed, we have to allocate enough attention for both the GoLs and SoDs, especially since this will not only wrap up the DS Saga, but will conclude the arc of a lot of characters. I do for one, believe we will see a select few team up ( e.g. Luxord snd Larxene vs someone) as I don't feel as if they have an emotional impact with any character, by that I mean a Lea vs Isa battle (though I have a feeling Lea won't be around by them) or a Sora vs Xemnas battle. After this has concluded, I believe we will face Xehanort at Kingdom Hearts itself for the final section of the battle, which will act as the final world too.
