what is the concrete difference between "being friendly" and "flirting"? i think i may have unintentionally overstepped my boundaries today.

If he does like you and he thinks you like him, then ignoring him all of a sudden is going to make him think he firetrucked up and is losing you. I've just been on the recieving end of thinking someone liked me when they really didn't. It sucks and I overreacted at the time. But mostly because once they realized I liked them they started ignoring me to try and keep me from thinking they liked me 
That only made me feel more like shit. Not to say it was their fault, but hey shit happens and life goes on.
