I will say Goofy is mine, he is an absolute tank when he has Second Chance and Once More. But if Pokémon count as animal sidekicks, then it would be Lucario. (Ironic, they're both bipedal canines)

Diddy Kong.

he was so good he outshined Donkey Kong and got to star in Donkey Kong Country 2 with Dixie.

then Dixie outshined him and starred in DKC3 without him but whatever

I think Kazooie is my favorite, though I'm also a bit biased due to the fact that it was the first game I played. Nothing against Donald and Goofy, they're great on their own as well, but I enjoy her snarky attitude immensely. She's also very useful and the games wouldn't work out without her since she contributes a lot to the gameplay.

Yoshi. He's classified as both a dragon and a dinosaur.

Need I say more?

I like both Donald and Goofy, but I went with Donald because his healing skills are the best ;).

Kazooie: The lass with the sass.

Gotta go with Dexter this time. I've played every Jak and Daxter game it's a cult classic and a beloved series.

I don't even care about The Last of Us Part 2 but man if they reboot Jak and Daxter I'm going to scream like a teenage girl. Good ol ps2 days....... ahhhh...

Yoshi for me,he's the most awesome thing ever, how can someone not like Yoshi

Someone said Daxter? Ok I'm here, my boy clutching for second :) I'm so proud...I see why people say Donald Duck wins though, he's boss when it comes to fighting and healing Sora ;)

I want to ride my Chocobo all day~

Daxter was just way too funny in Jak & Daxter. Every line he said made me chuckle.

As much as I love Yoshi, at this point, I tend to view it as its own standalone character (Mainly because I play as Yoshi in any Mario game that gives me the option), so I don't think I can vote it as a sidekick. I think my best bet would be either Interceptor (Shadow's dog from Final Fantasy VI), or Tatsu. Wait, Tatsu's obviously the hero, nevermind.

Donald Duck . That guy is brlliant.

I choose dogmeat

I chose Donald, since he's mainly the healer. Now, if they gave Goofy back his Cheer ability, which heals you, like in Kingdom Hearts 1, which didn't transfer over to Kingdom Hearts 2, I would of choose him. Like, if you give Goofy just one healing ability, especially if it's useful, Goofy. Just...Goofy.

12/14/2016: Okay, I mentioned the wrong ability. It wasn't Cheer, it was Evolution. Still, I would choose Goofy, if he had healing moves in Kingdom Hearts 2. I also hope they give him at least one healing move in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Ratchet (because Clank is obviously the main character).
