Posted July 9, 201114 yr I played Re Chain of Memories with my friends today and when I saw some cutscene I noticed that Axel call Sora as a keyblade master and he is not a keyblade master yet , can someone explain
July 9, 201114 yr It's a bit of a translation error, I think. During KH1 and COM, people would refer to Sora as the Keyblade Master. Riku even referred to himself as the Keyblade's master, as if there was only one. I'm not sure if it's a translation error, or if this is the same in the Japanese version. But when everybody calls Sora (and Riku) Keyblade masters, they're not actually referring them as the kind of Keyblade Masters we saw in BBS. (Don't know if that made sense or not. Hope you understood.)
July 9, 201114 yr Sora is also called the Keyblade master in kh. At the time he was not just a keyblade wielder, but THE keyblade master. Now there's Terra, Aqua, Ven Eraqus, Master Xehanort (and all his keyblade wielding incarnations), Riku for sure, Yen Sid and the thousands of wielders in the war not even worth naming. In other words it is simply the result of a not planned out series.
July 9, 201114 yr i remember reading something so dont quote me as being true but in the japanese kh1 they called him the keyblade hero again i just remember it somewhere so dont quote me on it as fact or truth now for calling him the keyblade master i think it more that at the time there was only the keyblade so i think anyone that could weild it could have been called a master because of being able to weild said weapon but just what i think
July 9, 201114 yr When they say this I think they mean "the keyblade's master". Or it could just be some translation arror.
July 9, 201114 yr simple answer behind this when that cutscene was made they didnt even have the mark of mastery in mind for the series that cutscene came along before the idea of a true keyblade master did
July 9, 201114 yr simple answer behind this when that cutscene was made they didnt even have the mark of mastery in mind for the series that cutscene came along before the idea of a true keyblade master did this was most probably the case.
July 9, 201114 yr In the earlier games, master meant 'wielder'. Surely Sora and Riku did not have what it took to become a true keyblade master like TAV during KH1 and CoM.
July 10, 201114 yr It's not like they had anyone to correct them. There was no Mickey or Yen Sid to tell them, 'Hey, you can't call yourself that. You have to take the Mark of Mastery first'. Outsiders like the FF cast probably wouldn't be familiar with the inner workings of becoming a keyblade master especially since they've been nearly extinct for 10 years. It could really just be summed up to the ignorance of what being a keyblade master entails.
July 10, 201114 yr When they wrote the story for KH1 they probably didnt think about the mark of mastery or any of that stuff
July 15, 201114 yr or maybe the organzation new that vens heart was in sora just sayin dont bee mean Yeah but Ven wasn't a Keyblade Master.
July 15, 201114 yr I think early on when they said "Keyblade Master", they just meant that the Keyblade was Sora's weapon and his alone.
July 17, 201114 yr i remember reading something so dont quote me as being true but in the japanese kh1 they called him the keyblade hero again i just remember it somewhere so dont quote me on it as fact or truth now for calling him the keyblade master i think it more that at the time there was only the keyblade so i think anyone that could weild it could have been called a master because of being able to weild said weapon but just what i think I remember hearing that it was supposed to be "Keyblade hero" somewhere too
July 17, 201114 yr I think early on when they said "Keyblade Master", they just meant that the Keyblade was Sora's weapon and his alone. There's another possibility.
July 25, 201114 yr It's not like they had anyone to correct them. Yeah, this was my idea about this. I mean, it seems that usually, only keyblade masters leave to explore other worlds. Also, yeah, there aren't many keyblade people around and so they wouldn't really know--I mean, Xigbar is always careful to refer to them as keyblade wielders, not masters. Also, technically, people shouldn't even really know about the keyblade or other worlds at all. And of course they probably didn't have the idea of a master exam or such technicalities back then. They might have had many ideas, but nothing they could work into the storyline yet.
December 25, 201113 yr simple answer behind this when that cutscene was made they didnt even have the mark of mastery in mind for the series that cutscene came along before the idea of a true keyblade master did But they called Sora 'Keyblade Master' in Days.
June 15, 201213 yr its not that they're calling him a keyblade master but the master of the keyblade showing that he controls the keyblade
June 15, 201213 yr I think that they mean it as a sign of respect. Of course, they all make it sound like as if Sora is the only one who can use the keyblade, so it could just be Square not planning ahead.
