I don't see a resemblence whatsoever. But if you're talking about the face than I can see why you would think kairi looks like Aqua. But Kairi looks nothing like Aqua except for the eyes.

It's pretty obvious that they didn't meet til Radiant Garden. You're just overlooking it pretty hard. I can understand you asking why Xion looks like Kairi.

If there is a resemblance, its a coincidence. They're as related as Mickey and Yen Sid.

All the good characters have blue eyes that means that they have hearts with light but the villans like xehanort,Ansem not the wise have yellow eyes that means they are bad.

Well to me, Terra and Riku look similar. As do Ventus and Sora. Just my opinion. But Aqua and Kairi do look similar to me as well.

She probably thought Aqua was strong and cool after she saved her and thought "I wanna be just like her when I grow up" so she styled her hair the same.

It's cause Nomura can only make 6 styles of faces...

To me they look alike minus the hair color and age but in a few years Kairi will proably look likea red haired Aqua.

 

 

That totally passes for Kairi 10 years from now! How do they not look alike? If her face wasn't so dirty, and if her eyes were slightly more innocent, it'd totally pass! They have the same face shape and features, and similiar style haircut to the first KH game.

As for the reason. Idk. Maybe to mimic the same friendship between Sora/Kairi/Riku and Ventus/Aqua/Terra.

Personality wise, sure: they somewhat resemble each other, but I don't see how they resemble each other appearance wise.
