Nowadays, all video games that are based on films, television series and animated series are terrible.

Books on the other hand...

Books on the other hand...

Books as well.

Books as well.

"The Witcher 2" renders that statement false.

This website needs a more serious tone.

"Amazing Spider-Man" and "Disney Infinity" would like a word with you.

I kinda liked it better when the RL and personal threads were separate

It's honestly super annoying when people say FF7 is overrated

Agreed. Whether it's true or not, just the words "FF7 is overrated" are enough to cause a ruckus. It's a pain in the ass. It's one of the few things where I feel that people should just shut the hell up about it. Seriously. If you've got something to say about FF7, keep it to yourself because it will just cause everyone great irritation.

Well, if they're going to say it's overrated, they should at least give some legitimate reasons as to why they think so. Give me a reason to respect your opinion.

Derp, I just realized I'm probably not addressing the right thing, but oh well. This is my take

BTW RoxSox I love your sig xD

Yeah, it's not about having legitimate reasons for thinking so, or about respect for opinions. More about not even bringing it up to begin with, because it's such a tochy subject that it's sure to just cause shit.

And thank you, it amuses me as well. xD

Console wars have become one of the most obnoxious things ever. I'm so tired of people trolling each other about which next gen console is better. WHO CARES? PLAY THE CONSOLE YOU WANT TO PLAY AND LEAVE US ALONE. YEESH.

Also obnoxious is the PC master race. I mean, whenever there's a discussion on a console on say, IGN or something like that, some random neckbeard will come on and say "oh hay the PC iz bettur!!!1!!11!!!!!!" WELL GOOD FOR FREAKING YOU. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT CONSOLES, NOT THE PC. YOU'RE ADDING NOTHING TO THE CONVERSATION, SO SHUT UP. I feel like I may have mentioned this before, but whatever...

Well, I guess competition is a part of human nature.... or, in the case of the interwebz, senseless arguing and flame wars.

Also, concerning PCs: Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only thing I think they really have to "support" their argument is better graphics. It's not like a PC improves the story or gameplay. Besides, we all know that you don't need high-end graphics to have a beautiful game.

Well, it can improve the gameplay actually, because you can do mods and stuff like that. Which a lot of people have done with various games, and come up with pretty sweet stuff. Fun facts.

That being said, I still hate it when they bring their master race crap onto a random thread.

Oh yeah, I forgot about mods. Those are cool and all, but not really enough to warrant being a "master race". They're just fun little extra stuff, and they're not needed in order to enjoy the game.

The KH series needs less censorship. The amount of censorship that Square Enix is being forced to use in the series is not natural for them.

But its a Disney collaboration so the censorship is much needed in the series.

And a lack of censorship is needed for an appeal to the Final Fantasy audience.

Not really no. I'm part of the FF audience. I want the censorship for KH.

The "censorship" bothers you that much? I can't even think of any point where the "G-ratedness" of the games doesn't flow naturally, except for maybe in Port Royal. And that's barely noticeable in the American version. I think you're the only one getting worked up about it.

And why would a lack of censorship appeal to the FF audience? I'm a FF fan and I don't even care. KH isn't aiming for the FF fans anymore. It's aiming for the KH fans who love it for what it is. And if anything, I'm glad it's kept "censored", if that's really the word you want to use for it. KH is an amazing example that you don't need excessive violence, swearing, and/or sexuality to make a quality game.

And out of curiosity, what kind of "non-censorship" would you want in the games?

The censorship in the series is unbelievably overdone. Removing one second of flames being depicted on Axel's body in Kingdom Hearts II was not even slightly necessary, the mild swear word that Axel gave in the original Chain of Memories did not need to be removed from his dialogue in the PS2 remake, and censoring Aqua's clothing was not necessary either. Those are just a few examples.

The Final Fantasy series has always had less intense censorship. What is the harm in Kingdom Hearts trying to go in accordance to this?

What I want is simple; an occasional mild swear word, at least one scene per game that depicts blood, and more intense death scenes.

I know that I am not the only one who is "getting worked up about it"; there was a thread about the subject that was created the other day.

I don't know about you, but I didn't look at Axel's death scene and freak out because he wasn't on fire. It didn't hurt my experience in the slightest to play through Re: Chain of Memories and not hear Axel swear.

And about that stuff that you want to add: what could that possibly add to the game? How would that help the story, gameplay, or anything? It would seem out of character to hear Sora or Riku or Kairi swear. And what would blood add to the game? There's rarely blood in Final Fantasy, if I remember right. And more intense death scenes? I feel like any death scene that's actually in the series seems fine in terms of intensity. And again- I don't recall any deaths in FF (except maybe Sephiroth's) that are more intense than deaths in KH.

And what topic are you talking about? Could I get a link?

Either way, removing the fire was a questionable and unnecessary move.

I said mild swears; along the lines of what Axel said in the original Chain of Memories. Adding blood would make some scenes look more dramatic, and would make them have more of an impact on the player. The death scenes are not particularly intense. The deaths of Vexen and Zexion were about as intense as they get, and even then, Vexen's death scene was censored in the PS2 remake of Chain of Memories.
