Hello guys

As I posted earlier today in a thread titled New Idea, I'm gonna start a new story. And this one may be the best one I've ever written. But, firstly, as mentioned there, here are two drawings, and the description for these two characters. Hope you enjoy it so far! It's just the start!

Many more will be out soon, and then, we can start with the story itself!

 

 

 

Princess Kelsty - Born in the year of 1700, she was graced with both beauty and intelligence. Received the name of 'Young Genius' for what she managed to accomplish during her last years of life.

 

 

She's the Emperor's youngest daughter, and even though she is pretty, she has also a brilliant mind. She was the one who told her father to call all of the Lords of the land, and request that they all fight together to eliminate the first conflicts that started to split the Empire.

 

Even though she was pretty and smart, she did not have a husband. which was not normal in that land. Her father tried to force her into marriage twice before, but as she was truly smart, at the point of being a strategistic later on, she managed to be free to do whatever she wanted, as long as she could be useful to her father. She has a strong personality, and doesn't like to be ordered around. It was thanks to her efforts that the Empire lasted a year more than it should have.

 

 

 

 

 

James Kunn - Princess Kelsty's bodyguard, who always took his job seriously, and did not leave her side for any second. Born in the year of 1696, he was promoted after showing off his abilities in a talent contest held to see who was strong and reliable enough to be able to stand by the Emperor's youngest daughter, and to protect her for all eternity.

 

He swore for his own life that, as long as he could breath, no harm would befall Kelsty, and he surely would give his life in order to save hers. While quiet and calm, once in battle he turned into a machine that strikes anything and anyone that would be audacious enough to even think of harming the princess. Many tried to kidnap her, trying to make the Emperor transfer his powers to them, but none succeeded. At least now until the Empire met its end....

 

It was clear that he had feelings for her, but apparently, she didn't feel the same love that was the reason for why James was so brave and strong. When the Empire ended, he took care of the princess. They were a perfect pair -- with her intellect and his strength.

An Example to Follow

 

The first conflict that put the order and peace of the Empire in check happened in the year 1711. It was lead by Anny Grity, a woman that called herself the descendent of Jix, the first ruler of that land.

 

The Emperor swiftly gathered all the Lords of the land, to attack and eliminate the rebels before they could create a real threat to his rule.

 

Although they managed to outnumber the rebels three to one, the key to victory was a young woman, named Leyla Merces, who had a brilliant mind, and was one step ahead of the rebels' slow tactician

 

After burning their supplies to the ground, victory was assured as the enemy started showing signs of fatigue and could no longer fight for their leader's desire.

 

Once Anny was captured, the Emperor ordered her immediate execution, but Leyla said that nothing would be gained with it, and convinced him to let her in a prison.

 

Having her talents recognized, Leyla was promoted as the Empire's official tactician, and also turned into Kelsty's teacher. The little girl showed interest in military strategy, and so Leyla started teaching her everything she knew.

 

Four years after the first rebellion, another started. However, this time Leyla was ill, but despite that, she used her brilliant mind to once again try to keep the Empire's peace and order. Kelsty assisted her with her careful plans.

 

However, a short while before the battle could be won, Leyla's condition got worse, and sadly, she died with only twenty-five years.

 

"My dear... You must take after me... I taught you everything... Make your father proud... Promise me that you'll always stand by what's correct... I'll be always with you, in spirit, guiding you through hard times.... Farewell, my apprentice...." Leyla said her last words and gave her necklace that had the shape of an owl, representing brightness.

 

There was just a last plan to be carried out to obtain victory.

 

"March in honor of Lady Merces' name! Let's carry out the last plan that she devised!" said Kelsty, with tears on her eyes, moments after losing one if the most important people of her life.

 

Just as hoped, the battle was won, even though there was a measureless lost for the Empire.

In Lady Merces' tomb, there was written: "The brightest mind this land had ever seen. Rest in peace and may your intellect guide us during hard times."

yeah sure, but first I'll try to explain a lot about the setting, with small chapters and descriptions about the characters and important events before the main story.

Awesomeseasaltsauce! 8D *claps* Really fascinating. The story has a lot of details that makes imagine the whole scenery, it's great. But I kinda hope we can get more immersion and intensity later on (like really heart taking bits)

they look like legend of Zelda characters.

The Contest

 

After Lady Merces’ death, and the success of Princess Kelsty during the new rebellion, peace ruled the land for some time. It was also during these months that she was recognized as Lady Merces’ successor, and was entrusted with the duty of protecting the Empire’s order. She now wore her predecessor’s necklace, which worked just as a good-luck charm for her.

 

“Thank you, Emperor -- I will give my best and try to live up to Lady Merces’ expectations -- Nothing will threaten your rule as long as I’m alive, I promise.” Kelsty words made the people feel safe and be proud to have her as a tactician.

 

However, the Emperor was afraid that after this event, her daughter would be in terrible danger of being kidnapped, or even murdered by someone who intended to bring harm to both the Empire and the Emperor. That was the reason why he decided to hold a contest, in which the winner would receive the honor of stand by Kelsty’s side forever, not as her husband, but as her particular bodyguard.

 

Then, the contest started, in the end of the year 1715, and the winner would be chosen by the Emperor himself. There were some strict rules, and because of that, there were only 10 competitors. They had to show their abilities, and whoever convinced the Emperor that he would be strong enough to keep his daughter safe would win.

 

The youngest competitor, named James Kunn, which was only nineteen-years old, showed that he was courageous and brave, at the point of facing three tigers in battle, and winning using only his intelligence and personal strength. He was also well-known around the Empire, since he was a cousin of Lady Merces.

 

The other competitors went well, and the Emperor chose James and another one; Kim, who seemed to be determined to win at any price. The finals would take place in the next day, in an arena, where both of them would face each other in combat, and the Emperor would chose between them who was truly worth.

 

Two spies were sent after both competitors, to see how they would act, and try to find out how their true character was. Even if one of them were to lose the battle, but show courage, bravery, and honesty, then he would be chosen as the Princess’ bodyguard.

 

So, in the next day, as the sun appeared, the arena was full, and the battle was about to start. Strangely, James was strange -- he looked tired, and could barely move himself, and hold the sword he chose to fight his enemy.

 

As the cannon fired, the battle started. It also ended quicker than anyone would have expected. Kim seemed to be stronger, while James looked as if he was about to die. Kim managed to knock James down in less than ten seconds. The people around the arena were completely surprised about these results.

 

“Now I will say who I’ve chosen to defend my daughter forever. It’s.... James Kunn! Although he lost, he played fair and square. I’ve been looking after you both... I’d rather have a loyal, brave, who don’t rely on cheap tricks to win... Kim managed to drug James so that he’d look dreadful like this... Such a coward act... I could never allow you to stay by my daughter’s side.... And this is all.” The Emperor said as he smiled, looking towards James, even though he could barely see him in the condition he was now.

 

In the last day of that year, James was officially entrusted with the duty of protecting the princess.

 

“I will do all that is in my power to protect Princess Kelsty, and I will always be courageous and brave, and even give my life for hers if it’s needed. I will stand by you forever, my dear Kelsty.” James said this world in front of all the people, swearing that the Emperor would never regret choosing him as her daughter’s bodyguard.

 

Kelsty was truly amazed by how beautifully that man could express himself. And so they started to live together, and he started developing feelings for her. They made a perfect couple, and so they spent their first New Years together, gazing at the fireworks that announced that a new time was about to start!

Nothing says true love better than Fireworks, lol. Good Job keep it up.
