I'm Christian, but this...this is friggin stupid.

I played Pokemon my whole life and I sorta did turn away from God.... but not because of Pokemon owo. I really dislike Christians most of the time.... for being so uptight and saying it's God's will....

Seriously though, my brother has a friend whose parents are like this. They raised the kid to believe he was [sic] allergic to Pokémon. The kid went to a birthday party (he was 7) and the plates and party favors were Pokémon, and they refused to eat with them or take home a goodie bag. It's crazy!

 

Oh, and to make matters worse, the kid plays Call of Duty, is extremely violent, likes to pretend to have guns, and wants to be a cop so he can shoot people. Oh the irony.

Seriously its insane people like this that make the rest of us christians look bad.

why would you throw away Harry Potter books and Pokemon teaches you leadership skills and strategy. Its totally for kids and if u dont like them spitting out fire(even though it doesnt even show them gettin injured just flshing) then turn off the graphics

True Story

I am not christian, but even I know people who are and they aren't insane. I can tell where she's coming from though...in terms of protecting your child from violent video games. My mother is devote christian and she never would let me watch/play violent games when I was little...you know like Grand Theft Auto or something rated M. But I don't think she was doing that b/c of her religion. My mother was being a responsible parent. She even explained to me WHY she didn't want me to be playing games like that until I was much older (I know a lot of parents who just say "no, it's b/c I say so"). And when I was older, she backed off. But this lady...omg...to actually believe POKEMON is driving her son away from her...I don't know what to say.

This. I hate how so many Christians are like this too, when we should be focusing on spreading the love. I almost don't blame the atheists for hating us sometimes when they see some of the crap that goes on with people who are "religious."

My parents may have forbidden me from watching or playing it, but it wasn't because of this!? This is what went through my mind when I read this: "This woman is such an idiot! Pokemon is for children and there's no abuse in the game except for Team Rocket and others but that doesn't teach kids to do that stuff! They know it's wrong and they learn not to do that! What the firetruck is wrong with this woman!"

I'm a Christian and I play Pokemon. I see nothing wrong with it. It hasn't strayed me away from God, it hasn't taught me to become a poucher or anything on the lines of that. I don't abuse animals, and everything she just said is bullshit. She's just an overactive Christian that makes me sick. She's one of those Christians that make the rest of us look bad! (I know someone mentioned that earlier but I wanted to mention it again ) I just can't believe it. Seriously just can't believe what she just said.

See, when you hear "dedicated Christian" like that, you know they're ass-holes. And your hearing that from a Christian, which is why I have combined my theology with Buddhism and a few other things. My aunt is almost like this (thank God she's not completely like this yet), but she has a bit more sense. That child has every reason to do that, and he should do worse, he should run away and call Child Services. This is the segment of Christianity that is a cult, and I go to a Catholic school (the teachers are fine, for the most part, but I fear some are dreaded Liberals. My principal is extremely evil, which is funny 'cause she's a nun (it's always the least you'd expect), and the pastor, who also works with her, is also pretty cruel.) I can tell this person voted for that piece of potato Obama. I would continue to rant, but this site is somewhat kid-friendly and I am sure you are a bit surprised with all the stuff I just said, so maybe I will continue this later. If only I can find this lady and skin her alive and sell that skin in a Cuban Black Market (even though I live in America), better get my poison and matches too (the only reason I am a bit psycho is because I have a bit of a Multi-Persona disorder; a Memory Loss problem, which differs from time to time; and many traumatizing memories, whether they be real or not due to my many personas).
