Does anyone else feel KH2 was the best in the series so far?

Posted

I mean, the past four handheld games have really summed up everything we need to know and have each been great, amazing even, though I haven't played DDD because I dun have a 3DS, but to me Kingdom Hearts II is the best. The gameplay was amazing and really showed how well Sora had matured in battle, the story was just perfect, and let's not forget the amount of really fantastic characters that were in this one.

Love KH2 and I think it's the best in the series

No matter what,Kingdom Hearts 2 will always be the best! The only that can possible pass in front of him is Kingdom Hearts 3!

For me personally, 3d was the best one mainly cause, we can play as the sexy Riku.

i liked kh1 but i love kh2 and kh3d!!

kh1 and kh2 were great stories all on thier own. the fact that the story was continued and explained more deeply in the other games is just adding on to how great this series is.

I missed the interaction with the environment in KH2 but I still think its a tie between KH1 and KH2 for me.

Kh2fm will always be my favorite kh game, so i totally agree with you xD

Words of wisdom xD

same and I loved kh 358 days I love how square enix can just make you fall in love with new characters just in one game like Terra ventus aqua and xion

kh2fm is by far the best kingdom hearts game to date i was hoping DDD would surpass it but nah it was close tho!!

Well, until two weeks ago, I would have agreed xD but KH 3d feels a bit more dense and obscure than KH2, so it's making it's way to the first in my fave games... ever .-.;

After recently playing KH2fm... I can not only say that KH2 is easily the best but... all the recent games are kind of terrible and lazy in comparison.

Well, no matter the way I put it, I still haven't touched DDD yet, and as much as I'd love to play it to see what my opinion would be, there's nothing more I'd love to play right now or any day other than Kingdom Hearts 2.

KH2 has its share of problems. The most annyoing one for me is this. In KH2 you are given the choice between Melee, Magic, and Defence. However, the only correct choice is Melee, becaues the others offer nothing. You can not play as a magic character in KH2, because no matter what choice you make you still Melee 99.9% of the time. You can't use magic that often, and when you do, it does do much of anything.

If you melee 99.9% of enemies as a magic character, why be one in the first place? Why do you even have a choice? It is the ILUSION of CHOICE.

KH3D (or possibly BBS, never played that one) Was the first game to make Magic Characters and Melee Characters equal. Giving you options like, loading the deck with weak spells that reload fast, or more powerfull spells that keep you waiting. Melee was a lot of interesting and different attacks, and magic has a lot of interesting and different options. (fire, ice, thunder, water all move in different ways, so HOW they more is sometimes more important that what boosts you have on.)

KH2 is still the game i've played the most, but it is not perfect. 3D is my new favorite, the gameplay is better in 3D, even if the plot is not as good. (Everthing funny, interesting, or emotional is saved for the last 10 minutes, which really harms the rest of the game.)

Personally I prefer BBS,if you go through the game as quickly as possible you find out about half of it is completely unnecessary. Pride Lands and Atlantica are completely superfluous, you can finish the game without setting foot on them, the same with your last trip to Hollow Bastion (Radiant Gardens). If you're going for 100% (I've done both) you spend ages looking for synthesis material, so you can get the Ultima Weapon, and get stronger for Hades Paradox Cup, which makes any of the extra bosses in any game seem a cakewalk, even with stats maxed out. Also the first time you're going through the worlds one would expect Sora to prioritize better, he meets the Nobodies, they gloat in front of him and such, and then you wander the worlds without much of a care. Any scene with Maleficent is rediculously funny, because her role in this game is House Shopping. When you finally get back to focusing on the Organization you go and kill them all because they don't have hearts* and Sora figured that killing a character whose primary attribute is trying not to fight is a good idea, and in the Japanese version, watches him boil away, and challanges anyone else in the Organization to meet the same fate. The Keyblade becomes a Deus ex Machina of unparalleled proportions, giving Sora the abilities of any Organization member he faces (ie warping when fighting Xigbar) with most of the Organization battles being ridiculous, you fight Xaldin, a lancer with the power of wind at close quarters, and warp on top of him, while he creates lance-dragons and wind-lasers, Luxord who freaking CONTROLS TIME removes your entire party from this timeline or something and then plays a mini-game with you, and Saix leaves Claymores on the floor that you can pick up and hit him with. Riku after learning that bealing able to wield Darkness and Light in CoM makes him freaking awesome has decided that the Darkness inside him is Terrible, and if only he were more like Sora he'd be a better person.

Now despite this I don't hate the game. Thier are two major flaws, the pacing, where we meet our major enemies and then wander around participating in musicals, and Sora, who sets himself up as Judge, Jury, and Executioner for 6 different people.

Unless you've played 3Ds, then you know he went around killing people, hearts included.

Honestly, that was just plain funny to me.

For me KH2 and DDD are the best...

KHIIFM+ just for the sheer content! So much to see and do in that game.
