Why did this scene change from the trailer?

Featured Replies

Because Nomura changed it ? This happens ALOT in trailers.. Everything doesnt always make the final cut or was straight up changed ..

He got the plot points together before the actual locations. It was a story trailer more than a product trailer, really.

Nomura changes a lot. This was mostly concept... Hollow Bastion wasn't even in the game(Radient Garden was, but yeah).

Same thing goes for KH3D's first trailer, it was just a little trailer with parts that doesn't always goes to the final piece.

Well every video game has it's own beta version.Too bad they didn't made Cinderella's Castle playable for Ven's story. If they have added it in the original gameplay too, that level would be twice awesomer.

Because when this was released BBs was running on kh2fm's engine just so they could release a trailer

well thanks guys...I know that Nomura always changes his mind :P...the script is the same actually only the places they happen and how they interact changes :/...still love it just the way it is nowdays :D

Like others have said, it was a concept, everything wasn't set in stone for bbs back then, looks like the cutscenes were there but the specific locations weren't worked out at that point in development.

You don't question Nomura.

Woah, this looks so cool!

I dunno, its just the fact its a bunch of stuff like bbs, but i havent seen it before!

This is what's known as a Beta Trailer. It's basically there to introduce concepts and plot elements of the game that are being contemplated but will probably be changed, because development is still in the early stages. If you search KH2 Beta Trailer, then we were supposed to be able to play the castle in Hollow Bastion that we played in KH1, but that never made it in. Actually I looked into this specific one, and all if not most of the dialogue from this trailer is in BBS, but the settings were changed. In the Beta Trailer for Dream Drop Distance Flowmotion was called Sleep & Waking for Riku and Goodwill & Malice for Sora(Might be the other way around, but still, you get the idea) I like the Beta Trailer for KH 1 the best, it's kinda funny how much the visuals and everything changed from the beta trailer to the final product...

I was now watching KH1 and KH2 beta trailer and it was funny...I never knew up until now about this kind of trailers http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/smiley-confuse.png

Yea, they're basically there to introduce the concept of the game, there's one for BBSv2, but I think that game was scrapped, not sure though...

Somehow I prefer some of the scenes from the beta trailer, like ven visiting cinderallea's castle and whatnot...

From KH3D's beta trailer, I wish they kept the scene with the rain of a thousand sora's xD

the trailers song is stuck in my head

Wow... None of that was in the Final Game... And where's Aqua in this trailer?

I love the "Psycho" violin chords that hit when Terra puts his hand on Ven's shoulder.

But Radiant Garden and Hollow Bastion are the same. The place they are in is Radiant Garden. It's just a part of Radiant Garden that didn't make the cut

they are the same, but somehow not

look at Ansem's Castle and the town itself in BbS and then KHII

it changed a lot

What I find much more interesting is the fact what Terra talked about there:

It was obvious right before the battle with Eraqus(!). Master I-wait-for-my-own-death-Eraqus seemed to actually do something useful xD

That would've been really nice http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png

After all he was worried about Ven but did he do something? "Hey, Aqua, go, find Ven, come back and then go to the kitchen and make me a sandwich, woman!"

Some lines in that trailer aren't translated correctly (like Terra and Ven's convo) but anyway the bulk of those scenes made it in the game anyway, just in a different form so it's fine.
