Meh, they are easier but they are still challenging, depending on which game you buy

I think it depends on the game and also how skilled you are.

I sill can't beat Super monkey Ball 2 >.>

anyway they're sorta challenging.

The last game I found to be a decent challenge on Normal was Metro 2033. Since then I have to play on hard and even very hard difficulty to feel like I'm actually trying to play the game and not just pressing buttons.

There are some games of course where the story is more important than the gameplay (heavy rain for example) so having a difficult game for the sake of difficulty won't work. By the time someone eventually beats that segment of the game they would of forgotten what just happened in the story. Basically, if your going to give me something I could play while in a coma then you better have a damn good story.

Somewhat. While I do think that the "normal" difficulty has lessened over the years, this has been compensated for by the rising number of "insane" modes. Some games, such as Batman Arkham Asylum, even feature challenges that aren't designed to be impossible, but can only be fully completed by skillful players.

Alot of games can still be challenging, but to many hints always ruin the game.

i think it just depends on the game you buy. like Dark Souls and fallout 3/new vegas are hard even on the normal setting

They all seem pretty easy to me. Too many hints >.> Although sometimes it can be a bit of a challenge to level up.

Yes, so many games hold player from hand like he/she couldn't play at all. I always try to play on harder difficulties and it's always nice to see if game has actually some challenge on it.

For example: Dynasty Warriors are very fun games, but those are way too easy. The enemies are kinda like this: They come in front of you and then be like: "Imma enemy! Fight me!" Then you beat them without taking any hits

The difficulty is in different areas the past few years, but yes. I would have to say they are much easier than many games 15 to 20 years ago. That does not make them cake walks though, because games back then were very unforgiving for the most part. These days games are just more forgiving, but not always easier, if that makes any sense. It always depends how good you are with any particular game though.

Uh... how can you generalize like that? Last I checked, games vary from one to the next

It depends.

There are some easy games, and there are hard games.

Although most games nowadays are easy.

depends on the game. For example survival horror games are still challenging, especially if you dont play beginner mode xD

Do things have to be written so specificly? Games are different these days, so it depends how good anyone is with any specific type of game. In general, more games back then were harder than todays games, for the simple fact that the industry wants their games to be more accesible to more people since the industries growth. Only in rare cases are games on par with the harder games years ago, and it's mainly indie games. Keyword - mainly. Not all.

'Somewhat, there do seem to be a lot of in-game hints and help.'

With the games I actually play, I have no problem with them and think they're good as they are (since I have limited funds I actually research the games before I spent my money on one, since I can't really afford to get crap ones)

But I would say that games I played (but obviously not seriously since I was like, 6) when I were younger were more difficult, like, no maps, vaster areas, less maximum health.

It entirely depends on the game you are playing.

I feel that it depends on skills and experience with the game itself. Like when I first got my KH1 game I had troubles beating it on easy mode. Now I can crush it on expert mode. Also game makers seem to be sensing your qualms. Like how pokemon Black 2 and White 2 now have difficulty settings.

They do?? That may help from needing to grind for hours just to train 1 damn Pokemon. lol Not that the Pokemon games are that hard anymore (to me personally anyway).

I dunno, some games are hard still but some just hold your hand.

I can't tell you how many times...

I think Demon/Dark Souls would like a word with you.

On a serious note I think it depends on the game and the person playing the game. The game is only as hard as the players skill makes it.

I think in-game hints are fine because most of the time you can turn them off.

I know the kingdom hearts games have become alot easier to navigate. I dont mean that the fighting is easier, I just remember in KH1 when you could actually get lost and not know what to do next and I miss that knid of challenge.

A lot of single-player games seem to hold your hand too much, but then there are games Like Demon's Souls and Dark Souls; fantastic and challenging.

kinda
