He should be scared of Xehanort's incredible planning powers...  no.  those aren't actually that intimidating now.

He's really doesn't unless Xehanort pulls something really big.

But then again there's always

video game logic

unless there a huge plot twist then yeah he's got nothing to worry about

Information:

Darkness enveloped the planet, and Xehanort has raised a 400 mile high mountain intertwined with shadows to throw at you.

Press Triangle!

I was gonna say it's because he has Protagonist Power on his side, but yeah, he's got quite an impressive resume, because of or in spite of Protagonist Power.

all them accomplishments but has yet made a move on Kairi. Besides saving her.. i think 3-4 times or so... still

Of course he does, because if he loses, all he has to do is press retry.

If you take a quick look at Sora's resume when it comes to overcoming obstacles, there's really no reason why he should be remotely afraid of Xehanort, the Thirteen Darknesses, or whatever else is coming in KH3.

- He's beaten Hades. IE, he's beaten a god. That's not exactly something you just overlook. Even if Xehanort were to get in on Kingdom Hearts and ascend, Sora's already beaten a god.

- In KH2, he defeats Jafar as a genie. And not just banishing him into his lamp: he defeats him more or less by himself and causes him to explode. Sora is capable of killing a being with unlimited cosmic power, something which Xehanort definitely doesn't have.

-In KH1, Clayton fights using a rifle. Chances are, playing through, Sora gets hit once or twice. Meaning, Sora takes several or more bullets, walks it off, and still wins. That's badass right there.

- He's already beat Ansem, Xemnas, Isa, Braig, Riku, and whoever else are hiding underneath those cloaks. There's no one on Team Xehanort that Sora hasn't already trumped.

- In total, Sora accounts for 7 of the members of the now defunct Organization XIII. That's not shabby.

So, yeah. Sora's got nothing to worry about.

Going to have to play devils advocate here, all those beings he's beat are magical which he would've been stomped by if it weren't for one magical weapon, the keyblade. Though he's been shown to be very resilient, with great defensive capabilities I doubt his offense would be anything without it and guess who he's fighting? A senior keyblade master who's keyblade is most likely way more powerful than his, as an old man Xehanort was able to hold his own against Terra, who I'm pretty sure is physically superior to Sora (but outclassed in speed and magic, with Ven and Aqua outclassing Sora in their specific area) just imagine him at his peak, and yes I know Riku beat a youthful Xehanort, but that incarnation lacked a lot of experience and doubt was anywhere near his peak. Also with Kingdom Hearts, which manifests literally the power of millions of peoples' souls (which even at their minimum like in Fullmetal Alchemist a single soul as been shown to be presumably equal to a freaking mountain, which by the way outclass skyscrapers; Sora's main strength feat; at least ten times, and I'm pretty sure they're much denser) if Xehanort finally managed to control it he'd easily outclass even the combined might of all the current keyblade wielders, or the seven lights. Not only will he be fighting someone with the potential of a genie, but without the crippling weakness Heartless, Nobodies, and various magical beings share of the keyblade. Everyone Sora's fought were either at least mountain buster or very power but magical. Sure he's beaten most the Organization on his own but remember they were Nobodies, not to say I'm not confident Sora could also beat their original incarnations which I am, but Xehanort said he wants to make them him which'll make them potential artificial keyblade wielders, Sora actually has a lot coming for him.

fixed.  it's a specific type of video game logic, you know.

Just wanted to point out that Master Xehanort put his consciousness into Young Xehanort before that battle. That's why Young Xehanort could use the keyblade. So, it's actually one of his strongest forms because he had the experience and power of Master Xehanort in a younger body.

Just wanted to let you know. :P

Well that's good to know, but he still most likely lacked the strength or power of his peak.

tihnk of the amount of times youve died fighting each boss

Fool. He didn't really defeat Hades or Jafar. Hades is still alive. Jafar is still alive. What's the point of stopping them if you can't defeat them for good?

You have a point. Besides, the only time Sora really killed anyone was in KH2 where he literally killed half the organization. Ansem doesn't count as it was the Light of KH that destroyed him, not Sora(well not directly anyway).

He barely beat Xemnas with Riku, so if Master Xehanort fuses with Kingdom Hearts he's screwed. But he is the main character, so he can't lose.

Hades, no, but I think he actually did defeat Jafar, it very vague.

Easy as that

You make a good point.

Once Sora accomplishes the "kiss the girl" part of the checklist, THEN Sora's got this covered

all them accomplishments but has yet made a move on Kairi. Besides saving her.. i think 3-4 times or so... still

Sadly, despite all that, he won't be able to beat an old man alone ._.

He'll still need help to finish off Xehanort. No one knows why.

The same reasons that keeps Batman employed.

Maybe Xehanort should call The Light (Young Justice). Everything that happened is every single firetrucking "as planned". No matter what the heroes do.
