Square Enix have sent out a press release regarding Kingdom Hearts III, the recently announced Kingdom Hearts title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This press release links to the 1080p upload of the announcement trailer, provides a clean copy of the game logo (seen below), and reveals some aspects of Kingdom Hearts III's story. Kingdom Hearts III features a mature Sora as the main protagonist who sets forth on an adventure with Mickey, Donald and Goofy through new and legendary Disney worlds. Kingdom Hearts III will make full use of next generation console technologies to showcase a stunning universe packed full of worlds based on Disney properties.

 

Story of Kingdom Hearts III

Believing light and darkness must remain in balance, Master Xehanort seeks to spark war against the ‘tyranny of light’ to restore equilibrium.

 

In an effort to undermine Xehanort’s plot, Sora, Donald and Goofy search for seven guardians of light and the “Key to Return Hearts,” while King Mickey and Riku search for previous Keyblade wielders.

 

Kingdom Hearts III will be available for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft. The keyblade from KH1 was made from the PRINCESS" OF HEARTS HEARTS. This has nothing to do with the guardians of lights. It's two separate things.

What? I was talking about Sora and Riku going on separate journeys. Since there are more keyblade wielders than the total number of guardians, Riku and Mickey could be searching for those that were forgotten and are not guardians (because for some reason whatsoever Mickey didn't let them )

Also, I meant that there could have been some mistake, and they could be searching for the Lights themselves, since Xehanort is intereseted in them. Nothing to do with the Keyblade, since they're not gonna take the Princess' hearts! They're the good guys!

Doubtful. Considering Xehanort is this close to his goal, and he's been waiting as long---or longer---then we have, then he's going to want to accomplish this ASAP. And he has almost full access.

Do you guys think that maybe some of the GoL will be Final Fantasy Characters? They know about Xehanort etc.

And older or mature Sora, I hear? Does this mean we'll be seeing less and less of his optimistic or highly comical side and he'll be about 18 to 24 years old?

.............Aren't they kinda looking for the same thing then?? Or do Terra, Ven, & Aqua not count as Guardians of Light?

I think Sora, Donald and Goofy are searching for the Guardians of Light mentionned in KH3D while Mickey and Riku are searching for Aqua, Terra and Ventus.

-Sora and every keyblade wielder thus known fighting in Keyblade graveyard--suddenly Riku and Mickey show up with AN ARMY of Keyblade Wielders, who all grab their keyblades from the Keyblade Graveyard and begin an epic fight of HUGE proportions against an army of darkness-

So maybe we'll see some new wielders? Or, well, older ones I guess but... they did introduce Time Traveling, so they could revive the ancient Keyblade wielders.

So wat im thinking is that you can play as at least Sora with Donald and Goofy, or Riku with King Mickey(like in CoM) im hoping this is the case the only problem i have with their being more characters is that this is a numbered title and like 1 and 2 they have to have sh*t loads of abilities and gameplay depth, and character uniqueness, however this is Next-Gen so they make be able to pull off sumthin along the lines of KH2 for multiple characters, that would be AMAZING

Most likely the Keybladee of Heart. It did return Kairi's missing heart, though the incomplete one also took Soras' heart. But what if it was complete? Then that Keyblade should be able to return hearts that don't belong to Soraa.

Most likely not. It would more than likely be a brand new keyblade. Made for..ya know...returning hearts.

yea true. but idk i still dont see why Sora is searching for Seven Guardians and Masters Riku and Mickey look for "other" Keyblade Wielders, maybe there are more out there than we thought or maybe its people from the past (like Roxas and Xion), but i thought they were the same thing :mellow:

 

I think they mean Princess of Hearts as guardians, since they are also part of Xehanorts plan. Just saying... we never know until it comes out.
