All I hear about lately is "where are the female playable characters?" or "we want female playable characters." Tetsuya Nomura himself said in a recent interview said that playable females would be "difficult"... So my question is... do YOU want to see more female characters?

Me personally, I did at first; until a friend of mine convinced me that Noctis and co. were designed to be like a japanese mafia... and then I asked myself this: "Did Nomura purposely not make female playable chracters?"

Perhaps there is an explanation in the story why there is an apparent lack in females. If so, I hope Nomura doesnt change his original idea of the game too much becuase of the complaints about the lack of female characters. So if it can't be helped, it can't be helped. I want at least Stella playable, but if she's not... then that's fine too.

It's also worth noting that Nomura said you would be using the car alot. Most cars can fit up to 5 people, and there are 5 playable characters so far.

We'll see i guess. Only time will tell.

I would love to play as Stella at least though!!! :(

yes. Final Fantasy xv is a sausage fest

I like female protagonists usually more than male ones. (unless they are lame ones that are typical) So yes.

Lightning was a kick-butt lead female. As long as they aren't the typical way females are portrayed in video games, yes.

I'm not one for a sausage fest, but I'm fine with Noctis and his entourage in XV.

It would cool if you get to play as kairi in KH3

The answer is yes. As for why it would be "difficult," I actually think that's more of a lame-duck excuse than anything.

Considering that most of my favorite characters in the FF franchise happen to be women (Terra, Yuna, Ashe, for instance), I really don't believe for a moment that it's that off the wall to have a compelling female lead.

It doesn't make any difference in the gameplay so I don't care either way

Im ok with that. I mean look at how badass Lightning and Fang(And Serah to a degree) were! Not to mention Yuna and Terra aswell. As long as they aren't portrayed as how women are in real life, its good.

More playable female characters please.... If we get a chance to play as, Stella in FF-XV that would make my day.

I won't mind playable females as long as their not oversexualized with boobs(Tifa) , barely wearing anything(Rikku and Fran)

or being an outright whore(I'm looking at you Rinoa)

Anything like Lightning,Serah,Terra would be perfect

I'm fine with it, as long as they can be strong but not over powered.

Most of my favorite characters are male, but I have plenty of female favorites as well.

does that mean its possible he doesnt have any plans to bring aqua back as a main plot structure, and kairi is going to be relieved of the training we all want her to have??

I personally would love it if kairi was playable after the game anywhere and got some awesome significance to the plot and maybe even her own story arc, plus playing as aqua would be great with the new controls

i'm down with it...y'know as long as they're cool

Heck Yeah!!!

Sure but if its something to do with the story, then I'm fine with it. After all, KH barely has any female original characters that aren't even playable so I am not surprised.

Interesting you say that.  If you have time, why not take a gander at these two videos:

Yeah why not? If the story is good I don't care about whether I'm playing as a guy or girl

I'm not quite following you. Are these videos regarding something I said?

They're supposed to make you question why "There are no female protagonists" is even a thing to consider.

Well I don't have a problem with it. I'd prefer a balance of gender in my games, but at the end of the day, I don't really care. You should go on the FF15 gamefaqs board. That's ALL anyone ever complains about. That's why I moved here. Trust me though, there are a large amount of people who don't want all male characters playable.

I'm still not sure why the second "female gamers" video has to do with what I said.
