They won't. I can't see it releasing until early 2017 sadly.

Did you seriously just say the same thing twice

Don't worry, they aren't rushing it, square knows their stuff :)

Oops, my bad xD

I'm not.  Honestly I'm happy waiting decades (though I have the patience of a saint it's remarkable) as long as I know I'm getting something eventually I don't feel the need to whine or torture it out of people.

the same way they arent rushing ff15  they wont rush KH3.

We had a lot of KH games these last years. if people want to deny it and call them spin offs is up to them.

I'm not worried. Square know how long we have waited, but they also know that we gladly wait longer for a great product :)

Come on dude, be serious here. Granted the game is still in it's early stages, but it doesn't stay that way, and with technology moving as fast as it does now, thus making it possible to create a good game faster, I don't think KHIII will take them that long when Nomura is done writing the script. I still shoot for a Q3-Q4 2015 release.

I'm kinda worried about it too. I just kinda feel like, can it really live up to the massive expectations? What if ends up being mediocre? O_o

2017! oh noooo I will surely have lost interest by then that's way too long to wait, I think (HOPE)  it will come out earlier than that. I don't mind waiting until 2015 but 2017 is over the line

Late 2015 or early mid 2016 will be fine, but even then, I don't see how they will get development done without rushing it

Oh god, don't say that. :( It makes me think about Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens: Colonial Marines, they were both HIGHLY anticipated for many years and they were both very, VERY dissapointing. I really don't want KH3 to be the same way. Nomura, do NOT rush it and make sure it is up to standard yourself. We don't want history to repeat itself...

Please people, don't make the developers of Kingdom Hearts 3 rush the game, we don't want another Sonic 06.

That's all I ask you xD

have you seen how long it took them just to make a trailer? I'm pretty sure we're good

THIS

Then again,Nomura alone is more competent than the entirety of Sega so I won't be worried......unless KH3 became as boring as Birth by Sleep

That's why I hope they stick with one character (probably Sora) being playable for the majority of the game, as opposed to three separate characters and their full storylines. That would keep it from becoming too boring, I think.

Depends on how they execute it ;) gotta be honest, to me BBS got boring by the time I went through the worlds for the third time. But what if they made some worlds exclusive to Sora, Riku, and Kairi respectively?

lol, I really wonder if Sonic 06 is as bad as people say it is.

.....Oh wait, Sonic cheats on Amy for some random princess?! o_o;; yeahhhhh, thats kinda pretty bad.....U_U;;;

I wouldn't actually mind since BBS has the best story imo.

They can always go with the DDD thing where you switch characters, maybe after a specific plot point? I like the idea of playing separate characters. It is refreshing. I'm just hoping the game is longer than a normal KH game but I don't think that is going to happen.

I'm expecting a 2015 release...so I have no idea especially if I don't know if they have been working on it in 2012 or 2013.

How do you know they aren't already rushing? Actually, are we sure rushing KHIII would be so bad as it usually is with games? KH3D was a last minute decision (even if he had some of the ideas during BBS's development), as they said in an interview, if I remember correctly. But KHIII probably already had something planned as early as 2012.

We already know KHIII will start with a search for the Key to Return Hearts, and we know it'll end with a battle between seven heroes and thirteen Xehanorts. Everything they need to do is write a good middle, and we already know the middle will involve saving a lot of people. Nomura has been slowly planning KHIII for years, is it really difficult to make it good when you already have years of planning?

As for gameplay, well, from the interviews, I get the impression that the gameplay development is going at a humongous speed.

Nomura has already mentioned the possibility of multiple characters being playable. Honestly, I think it'll be like "You got plot point A, now you must play as B character for a small time" or "C event happened, now you must play as D for a boss battle" (ex.: Xehanort tries to kidnap Kairi and you must play as her and fight Xehanort to escape, or Isa attacks Radiant Garden/Twilight Town/Traverse Town/Hundred Acre Wood and you must play as Lea). Maybe even the tutorial will be Kairi's training or a new character in a mysterious mission which purpose is only revealed way later in the game.

i doubt it, if HJO is talking about doing a script sometime in the summer then it almost done. i would say mind 2015, or early 2016.

Though I think it could be KHIII's first story trailer and/or the new scenes in Re:coded's HD movie.

In terms of multiple characters, I would be fine if it was like any of these:

  • A KH2 style where you play as another character for the first few hours then switch to Sora for the rest of the game.
  • A FF7 style where the main character is playable for the MAJORITY of the game, but there's a part in the middle where he's out of commission for some reason and you get to play as another character (I.E. Riku or Kairi) for a couple hours until you can get Sora back
  • A GTA 5 style where you can switch characters whenever you want, and each character has different things to do and different mini-games available.
  • A FFXV style, where you can switch between any of your party members on the fly. This would let you play as Donald and Goofy mainly, but also the unique characters that you can team up with in each world. Probably wouldn't end up getting too much of Riku or Kairi this way though.
  • A combination of all of these

I wouldn't want a DDD style or BBS style again. DDD was fun, and it worked fine, but there's no need for a timer anymore now that we're out of the dream world. Plus, it's kinda distracting. BBS was fine in its own game, but bordered on repetitive, and we don't want that in KH3.

GTA V and FFXV style is what I actually want.

Kingdom hearts since its release in 2002 has grown as series and is one of square enix's most beloved IP's. They would never rush this game and i'm sure that nobody will be disappointed on release day also most of the kingdom hearts games have great stories and i love pretty much all of them my least favourite being recoded.  But being that kingdom hearts is finally coming back to an actual TV screen i'm sure this game will not disappoint.
