February 2, 201411 yr Speak of the devil: http://kh13.com/forum/topic/69772-app-game-sales-beat-handheld-gaming-revenues-for-1st-time/ iOS, Android and Windows Phone are amazing platforms, they advance so much faster than video consoles and are so cheap to develop for. And heck, you've most likely already got a Smartphone or Tablet in this day and age so why not take advantage of it?
February 2, 201411 yr I think if gaming becomes based upon tapping a screen Ima dig up steve jobs corpse and kick it in the balls
February 2, 201411 yr I personally don't like mobile gaming but that doesn't mean other people don't enjoy it, so whatever haha
February 2, 201411 yr There is nothing wrong with it. Until developers start putting good series on mobile instead and piss off all their fans.
February 2, 201411 yr I hate mobile gaming. Having the controls on-screen is super inconvenient and awkward, and they just amount to tapping the screen over and over again. I'd rather play games on a console, handheld, or PC.
February 2, 201411 yr Eh. It's one of those mixed blessings. There's a lot of good that comes from developing for phones, mostly the fact that it's now accessible for a lot of people. Then there's in-app purchasing. We already have DLC and that sucked, so come on.
February 2, 201411 yr yea mobile gaming is ok. it is the only type of gaming most adults do ( at least the middle age ones). If I had a better phone. I would game on my Phone from time to time. I just hate when people say that mobile gaming will take over Consoles or handhelds in the future. It makes no real sense to me. it is like saying that mopeds will take over the auto industry in the near future lol. Mobile gaming will never take over Console and/ or handheld gaming, due to the fact that Consoles and Handhelds are just in such a HUGE demand. It will most likely still be like this in the future ( especially during the 9th gen comes around, that is when we will see 4K or Ultra HD gaming in consoles).
February 2, 201411 yr Having Tetris handy has kept several of the people around me alive on bad days.
February 2, 201411 yr I know alot of people who only play on PC and mobile phones. They have similar strengths (easy and cheap to develop for, they advance faster than consoles, they are things most people already own) but mobile gaming will always suffer because of the lack of physical input. Controllers are less precise than K&M and touch controls are even more imprecise, so only casual games really work well on mobile phones, or games which don't require precision (turn based games work well). I prefer handheld and PC gaming as they offer the best value for money. Instead of needing a $1000 phone, a $400 console, and a $1000 laptop, I can have a $300 handheld, a $1000 desktop, and a cheap ass phone and have the same basic functionality. I could afford an expensive smart phone, or a new console, but I don't really see a need to own either (only KH3 and FFXV will make me buy a console).
February 2, 201411 yr I don't like this whole idea of mobile games . Gaming should stay on consoles and PC.
February 2, 201411 yr Mobile Games are fine. I just hate the ones that try to suck as much money out of your pockets as possible.
February 2, 201411 yr Mobile gaming isn't that bad. Even though I have my old Nokia N97 Mini that uses Symbian, I can play some good games with it. Final Fantasy 1 and 2 are available for it and I've had fun with NES emulator.
February 2, 201411 yr It's good to have games on your phone so you can play games anywhere but I rarely play them now but I did used to play them a lot!
February 2, 201411 yr While there are some great games out on phones (Chaos Rings, Infinity Blade), In-app purchases and anything similar are kind of ruining games.
February 2, 201411 yr I think it's kind of dumb unless it's something like Angry Birds or Where's My Water? or Temple Run ,but other games that are based off of console games are pretty pointless.
February 2, 201411 yr Nobody play flapy bird it is evil it wants you to get mad plz I'm warning you all flapy bird is evil
February 2, 201411 yr There is nothing wrong with mobile gaming. That is, to play games on a mobile device. The only problem I have is developers electing to develop games on mobile platforms instead of console/pc, for pre-existing franchises that do not benefit from a mobile experience.
February 2, 201411 yr Well, I don't mind them, nor do I think they're annoying. I just don't play them.
February 2, 201411 yr Personally I dislike mobile gaming. I download the odd game here and there but they are mindless free games that are usually just time wasters and something I delete not long after installing them. If I game on my phone it's to play the emulated Gameboy Advance games that I have in my backlog and even then I don't play them religiously or anything. I guess though my main gripe is when people think mobile gaming will eventually kill handheld gaming, I personally think both markets should not be in the same sentence together. They cater towards different audiences, both of which are pretty vocal towards one another. The people who take mobile gaming serious are the people who think they are nerds because they got to level 300 on Candy Crush, so whatever.
February 2, 201411 yr I don't have any mobile devices, so they don't matter to me. I'm fine with playing video games on consoles.
