What do you feel when you beat a video game?

Posted

If the game has an interesting story like Ocarina of time then I would probably feel sad or shed a tear because of the nostalgia that the game had.

I feel relieved knowing i finished the game.

The game would be Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.

Usually it's achievement, satisfaction, and a bit of sadness.

Depends on the game:

An okay game: "Okay, I'm done now."

A good game: "That was fun."

A great game: "That was amazing! I really enjoyed it!"

KH1, TWEWY, Pokemon Silver, or Final Fantasy VI: "HOLY CRAP THAT WAS PERFECT I NEED TO PLAY IT AGAIN RIGHT NOW."

Depends on the game and the ending

Well, you see young ones. Video games themselves are miracles in the form of a disc. And when you finally beat that game, it's like you shake it's hand as it congratulates you on a successful play through. And with a hug farewell, you say good bye to your game. But, this is only the beginning of your beautiful relationship. You will remember this game for the rest of your years, and if you played it well enough (otherwise known as getting enough views on YouTube), the video game will remember you too.

I get feelings of accomplishment, achievement, and with some game series, pride.

Nothing. For me a game isn't beaten till it's 100%'d.

In which case I feel a satisfaction and contentedness that's hard to put into words.

Depends. A Sonic game, usually just kind of happy. For a game with great story, I feel kind of sad after beating it, EarthBound for example.

If I really connect with the characters or story,I normally feel sad and empty, as if I want to see them some more and know more of their story. If it's a really hard boss at the end then I'd get a feeling of accomplishment and be all happy then I'd feel really sad later that day. I was fine after playing KH1 because at the time of me beating it I knew that there was going to be a 2nd one so if it has sequels, it's more of a feeling of just beating a long level because I know I'll see them again. I don't know what I'll feel after KHIII, because even if it's not the last Kingdom hearts game, their is a possibility that it is that last one with Sora and Roxas.

That's exactly how I feel when I beat a game. I  almost cried after I beat a link between worlds because of the nostalgia. It was like I never wanted the game to end.

Depends on the game. How good the game was. What kind of story it had if at all... etcetera. Ranges from angry (Uncharted 3)  to confused (DDD, Bioshock Infinite) to happy ( KH1, KH2) to triumphant to sad (BBS, Red Dead Redemption).

It all depends, I play video games for one simple purpose: the story. If it's good I feel pride and like I shake the game's hand in mutual respect. If it's great and allows me to feel something for the characters, I feel like I could take them out for a drink well done. If it's brilliant and makes me feel for the characters, I am overwhelmed with happiness, sadness, regret and proud, knowing that the story is over, but the memories, the impact given, and the respect earned from me, will remain forever.

I have many different emotions when I finish a game.  If the game I'm playing has a riveting story with in depth characters and an epic struggle, then I'm sure to feel happiness, sadness, satisfaction and relief in the fact that I beat said game.  Seeing the credits roll gives us the time to really think about how a video game gave such an impact to us.  It's all really awesome, and well, the games that make me feel like this the most are the Kingdom Hearts games. :)

Usually sadness, glory, and in yo face! But much like everyone is saying, it depends on the game. When I finished KH2, I felt so sad but happy...I actually stood up and clapped when the credits rolled x'D For TWEWY I bawled my eyes out.

Happy usually.

Depends on the game. If it is a game that has an awesome story, then I usually feel happy that I beat the game and what other feelings it leaves me. If the game is like Pokemon, then I just so happy for a short time and go on to battle more. If the game is like Sam and Max and just a good game to simply have a fun time, then I don't really feel anything that wasn't just a good time playing. If the game has a powerful ending that makes me cry and has a theme song with it (I am looking at you, Final Fantasy XIII-2), then I am trying to hold in my tears while I sing along to the song. If the game has a theme song at the end like Kingdom Hearts, I am just simply have that I beat it, emotional with the way the story goes, and sings the theme song out of joy. And if the game took me a long time to beat, then I am overjoyed to finally beat it.
