i was mad at first but now im glad bc more money for more kh games.

i cant wait until their all confused because they didnt wanna play or learn about anything beyond kh1 & 2.

I remember those kind of people who were complaining about kingdom hearts 3. I have been with the kingdom hearts series even when the spinoff games came all. I played all of them. If there wasn't any spinoff in the kingdom hearts series, the story wouldn't be as good as if kh3 came out a few years later after kh2 came out. I appreciate what SE is doing with the series because they don't want the fans to forget about the series.

After one specific spinoff alot of people would disagree COUGH 3D COUGH COUGH!!

yep. Kingdom hearts 3 is going to be a great game, actually the best kingdom hearts game to exist when it comes out. 

Spinoffs weren't really spinoffs to me.  BBS could be considered Kh3, and 3D, Kh4. They were continuations to the story. 

 

Still never played them because I have no interest in buying 10 new systems to play one game on a 4 inch screen.

Calling something like 3D or Birth By Sleep a Spinoff is just dumb. I mean, let's put it this way. That was my mistake. I meant to say sidegames because I can't remember the word sidegames, so I just used the word spinoff. I know it was silly to use the word spinoff because it's very misleading. 

It's fine~ I wasn't necessarily directing that at you. ^^ More of just the people who use "Spinoff" as a downgrading term.

I don't count any of the non-numbered KH games as 'spinoffs'. They are each important in their own right. It just happens that Square decided to branch them out into different consoles. (Bad idea, in my opinion) Luckily, they've got their shit together and are releasing their stories into the 2 HD collections. So, for those who didn't play past KH1 and 2, I can understand not wanting to shell out for a DS and PSP for three games, but don't write them off as spinoffs, and don't write them off as unimportant because, without them, you will know diddly-shit come KHIII's release. And you can't blame anyone else for that but yourself.

I myself can not form an opinion on 3D,Ive never played the game,IM JUST STATING OBSERVATIONS THAT IVE MADE OF OTHERS

I love every KH chapter. I just don't love the fact they made them for less powerful consoles than ps3 (talking about bbs and 3d).Ok, they have to work on other games, but damn it! They made only three Final Fantasy games on ps3 and they weren't so good. Square Enix has been very disappointing for this gen.

I don't see why people call them spin offs other to try and belittle them, each game has integral information to the plot, the only one you could go without knowing is Days

I don't get it either, they are as much a part of the overall story as the numbered games. The number games are just larger a large step/progression in the plot compared to the rest which build the plot.

I do not know what to say to this post.... If they're to be confused, do what i did since i couldn't afford a PSP or a 3DS, Watch walkthroughs of it, with no commentary so you can pay attention to the game and story rather than that person behind a mic. Then after that do tons of research on it, That's what i did, i have only play KH1- KH Re:CoM-KH 358/2 days-and KH CoM (Original one). And i am about as knowledgeable as you can get on the KH series, when i haven't even played all of them, It works, so i bought a PS4 and i'm waiting for KH3 to be released..  Not to hard just to research the game...

Sadly not even that one, it Explains the origins of the Organization XIII, and if you ask me, KH CoM and KH2 weren't enough to explain Axel at all, and How will they know who Xion is, or why she exists, and it also explains alot about Roxas, unless you excpect KH2's first hour to be enough about him, If there is one that you really don't need to play its Re:Coded, the only important thing is the end, the rest of it is all blur. Not judging at all, just in the future, if you are to comment on something like this, Think about the game before commenting, But i can see why you think Days would be a less important one, but really think about it, it gives very valuable info.

I agree with you. I think that the least important game in the series is recoded. The only thing that's important in the game is that it explains why Sora got a letter from king Mickey in the first place. Basically the only thing important in the game is the ending of the game.

A spin off for video games by definition is a game based on a preexisting character, which Roxas is, Com, Coded and DDD follow the main protagonist Sora and BBS isn't based off preexisting characters.  A term people would probably prefer to use for Days is sidequel, since spin-off has been used in a derogatory fashion by haters of the non-numbered games for ages.  

 

And people wanted a game about the Organization to find out more about the members of Organization XIII and instead it revolved around Roxas friendship with new character no one remembers her, and the game could have ended the same without her at all, just the final boss battles would be with someone else and we'd get a more interesting storyline. Just seemed to take away actual time from the characters we had asked to see more off.  And the game made Roxas' character an irrational whiney emo IMO, he was relatable in KH2 and just got on like a teen brat in Days at times.  I see Re:Coded as 5 minutes worth of important information from the whole game but spin off doesn't mean the game isn't somewhat useful to the series or can't be liked, like my favourite Crash game is Tag Team Racing and that's a Spin Off, but for me it's better than the others.
