So, when did you realize that you weren't straight? For me it was when I saw Riku turn back into himself at the end of KH2. From that moment I knew I couldn't be 100% straight, given the fact that I felt more attracted to Riku than Kairi even though she now had long hair and wore a skirt.

I realized I was gay as soon as I smiled for the first time.

I fall for personalities, regardless of gender. I guess I never really "came to terms" with it, it also just "happened". Wasn't a big deal for me then, and I could give less of a shit about it now.

 

But I suppose my first girl crush was in 10th grade, sat next to me in biology and she was jsut so nice to me (obviously didn't swing thatw ay though, and she was popular whereas I was the nerd who wore pajama pants to school). Then I ignored it but developed a crush on Princess Zelda, Rachel Alucard (blazblue), and one of my English teachers. Despite being ace I realized that I just loved boobs and the idea of women too much to ONLY ever fall in love with men; boobs are amazing!

See wouldn't like everyone be demiromantic though? Like you typically don't just fall in love with people (at least not seriously) at first sight. It takes some getting to know people before you establish a serious relationship. That's kind of why I don't see a point in "demi- _____" being a real thing. Not trying to take a shot any anyone who is, but still. I just thought that everyone got to know people before getting together. Or it's something gradual that happens, lol

It doesn't work exactly like that. For example, the falling for process is generally the same, but for a Demiromantic, they need a powerful emotional bond before those feelings would even start developing period. Whereas you compare to most people and they can get crushes almost instantly, etc,. Just look  at how many people in RL, or even Fiction fall for people wlel before they even know what the person is truly like. Whereas a Demiromantic would need to have known this person on at least that kind of level before romantic attraction is possible. Speaking of, it's the attraction element that's important to take into consideration as well. It's like how you can have Demisexuals who have sex drives, and can enjoy having sex, they just aren't sexually attracted to people at the rate most people get. It's all about that bond for actual attraction to that person  in that way, same with a Demiromantic, but in the romantic attraction spectrum. I hope that explanation helps!

I wouldn't say tumblr itself invented that, but a lot of things spread and become wlel known because of Tumblr users, since it's that kind of place. It's not an inherently bad place, it's just not used as well as it should be, and it has a lot of potential to do great things for various communities.

Exactly, I totally agree with this. Like I'll slap a label on myself just because it saves me a long explanation, but in reality I think some people are far too obsessed with labels. Like if it makes you more comfortable, GREAT, wonderful for you. But if you're like, confining yourself in this labeled box.. it's just kinda dumb to me. Like, I have this friend, right? Identified as lesbian for years. Apparently recently she fell for a guy and they're dating now, and she felt almost bad because she was afraid that people would think that way of all lesbians. Well, now she's dropped any labels completely and she's much happier

Loljk . Yeah I doubt tumblr actually created it, I feel like they just made it more popular and it spread like fire in a negative context, as many (not everything) on that site does. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it's just the whole special snowflake thing. I lost it when people started using animal pronouns. At that point I knew I was totally and completely done. On one hand it's absolutely wonderful that more and more people are finding themselves and identifying with things that make them happy, but...some people just get ridiculous. I feel bad for being pissed off at it but I feel like loads of them would be a lot happier if they did what they felt like without having to label every single little thing. Love has nothing to do with being attracted though right,? At least not most of the time.. The simplest way I can describe it is that a Demisexual never feels the impulse to be attracted to someone on the base level. They have to bond with that person before they can become a attracted at all. People have loveless attraction all the time because they lack the need to form that bond to have it in the first place. Just look at people who are lustful/attracted to celeb s. Yes, it's technically loveless, but they're still sexually attracted to them, are they not? A Demisexual wouldn't feel attracted toward them because they lack a bond. 

 

To use a conversation kind of example.

 

"Oh man, Beyonce is so hot, I totally want to do her!!"

"I wouldn't want to have sex with her unless I really knew her well, and felt a very strong bond form."

 

That's the difference. The majority of people are the former, just change who the target of the desire is for, for each varying person's tastes.
