Have you ever beaten a Kingdom Hearts game with just the basic weapons equipped?

I have, multiple times! I got the Unchanging Armor trophy in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and was sad to see that it wasn't a trophy in 2.5!

(Thanks go to SteVentus for the poll suggestion!)

Yes, like you I did it on KHFM to get the trophy. Did it on Beginner mode though. x3

However, for KHIIFM, I did Critical Kingdom Key only. That was pretty fun, not gonna lie. :)

Peace!

I had started playing KHII using just the kingdom key but then my friend was like your dumb and are making this way harder than it needs to be... So I then started using the other keyblades...

Yeah, it's fun to challenge yourself. Although in BBS, it was needed because most keyblades you got were low on offense.

I learned you could change keyblades during my second gameplay of KHII because at that time I was like 13 and my brain was the size of a nut

I did it for that trophy on KHFM and I also remember doing it on KH2 back on the PS2. Any other games in the series I haven't tried.

Working on KH2 Final Mix with the kingdom key only. Possibly also going through using only single-keyblade Drive forms too. (Only doing it on Beginner, since I'm doing it for fun.)

Only once and that was for the trophy in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix.

Only for the trophy. But I prefer to use the unique weapons the game provides for me.

No, I don't like imposing that kind of challenge on myself. Also, getting new weapons is one of my favorite things in RPGs; I just love to see the boost in attack stats and getting new abilities (in games where weapons have abilities, at least).

I prefer it, tbh. Although that DOES mean that I generally play on Standard Mode, but I prefer fighting with the Kingdom Key/default weapons.

No. Using only one weapon all the time is boring. If I want to challenge myself, I equip No-Exp.

You are saying it like that's hard to do....now a lvl 1 run...that's another story.

I have, mostly for the trophy, but I found it more boring than challenging. Plus, changing my keychains and seeing the slight differences between each of them is something I kind of enjoy, so the first time was the last.

Did it for the trophy in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, and I actually did that for my LP of the game.  I also did it the first time I played Kingdom Hearts 2 because I had no idea how to find the place to change the weapons until halfway through The World That Never Was.

I did it before on the ps2, but rather than being a challenge it was kinda a let down. Changing your equipment and seeing your keyblade evolve is part of the fun of KH, and it really just took the fun out of that aspect.

I did almost everything you can get a trophy for now back when the games were still on the PS2 and I just don't have the motivation to do it again lol. I think I only beat just Kingdom Hearts 1 with the Kingdom Key, though.

You know, I only did this just once, and that was in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, in order to unlock the Unchanging Trophy! So yeah, I basically beat the game in Beginner Mode with nothing but the starter weapons! :3

Almost did it. Still have the file too.

In 1.5 for the triple-threat of trophies.

I prefer using the Kingdom Key anyway. It is my most preferred Keyblade and I love the way it looks. I have no reason to change to another Keybalde.

I've tried but it was too hard for me. But I know that my mom (who was the one that got me into Kingdom Hearts) would play and beat every single game with the basic weapons. She would try the others but always went back to the originals.

Kingdom Key all the way baby! I really hope they give the Kingdom Key some awesome transformations in KH3, because I plan to use that Keyblade the most! <3

I used to do that in every game before 1.5 because I wanted the characters to wield the original. But it was always on Standard Mode. However, I failed to only have Kingdon Key in 358/2 days because the game was too tough to complete without gear. I also didn't do it with Re:coded because I wanted to upgrade all the keyblades.

After 3D though I realized that I should respect the work put on a those keyblades and use them all. The games got a lot more fun after that. I can't wait to wield every Keyblade in KH3.

No I haven't. Would be a shame not to use those awesome keyblades :D

yea but not on critical though^^To be honest i prefer the cutscene with the original keyblades^^
