• Sonic The Hedgehog 2006. I couldn't even finish the game I only liked the soundtrack and story had some promise.
• Assassin's Creed Unity: ooooooooh I hate this game with my guts. This was so bad. The story was so NON CANON, bad written dialoge, one of the worst protagonist ever, why British voice acting? the awesome AI my head still hurts since the launch I had to take a chill pill I can't believe some people out there defend this game and say it's good. I lose my fate in huminaty everytime I hear this. The only reason why it's not number one is that Sonic 06 I couldn't finish it and isn't fixed and a few things more.

Grand theft auto four........ Words cannot describe how firetrucking irritating this game was for me. The environment of Liberty city just looked awfully dull, building building building building and BUILDINGS EVERYWHERE. OUT OF ALL THE PLACES TO CHOOSE, WHY A NEW YORK CLONE? YOU CAN'T MOVE WITHOUT SEEING BUILDING BUILDING AND BUILDING.

 

Nico Belic was a shitty protagonist who just followed orders, the story was just stupid and I wouldn't care if he died in a car accident. You just jump from one repetitive mission to another...

 

Here's how a mission goes in GTA 4

 

Go to the destination

talk to the person

Either chase, kill, steal or interrogate someone

Rinse and repeat until you finish the game.

 

I can't even explain the story of the game properly because the game did such a shit job at making me care. Some guy named Nico was in the war, he moves to dull old Liberty city and now his past is catching up with him. Who the firetruck cares? It's not even remotely interesting. 

 

Oh my god and the motorcycles in this game are the worst, most firetrucking awful pieces of firetruck on the planet. In some of the missions the person you have to kill drives off so the game spawns a motorcycle on a near by road. And my firetruck it feels like I'm driving on a grease, every 5 seconds you'll bump into a BUILDING BUILDING BUILDING and the shooting mechanics are just terrible. 

 

Shoot at this, shoot at that, dodge the cops and repeat. There's no immersion,all the minigames are a bore and I didn't give a firetruck about any of the characters. I had no freedom, everything was an ugly grey building.

The world was so poorly designed I just forced myself through it. OH AND THE LAST THING

 

THIS GAME DOES NOT HAVE AUTOSAVE. IT released in 2008... WITH NO autosave. Picture this

 

Some missions require you to drive huge lengths of at least 5-10 minutes, you do half the mission which takes another 15 minutes and end up dying. Now you have to drive all that way AGAIN, do the mission AGAIN, thus repeating those 20-30 minutes.

Goosebumps Horrorland for every platform it was on: Crappy visuals, crappy coding, crappy everything, literally. It was advertised as a free-roam RPG type game, and came out as mini-game central with lousy controls. 

 

Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced: Nice score. And that is all. 

 

Dark: Too may tutorials, hard to understand controls, very low line of sight, and touch senstive controls that mess up stealth missions with even a tap to the thumbstick. Plus insta-death when you're caught.

 

Fairytale Fights Mele: Don't even get me started. Controls, combat, fighting, and the censoring unless you have the Xbox 360 version. 

 

Harry Potter and The Sorcerors Stone (GBA version): The Gameboy Colour version is great, with the FF-style rpg elements. The GBA is trash, and should be burned. 

 

Dracula: Crazy Vampire (Gameboy Colour original): No....just no. No to everything. 

 

I could go on But these are (in my ignorable opinion, which I don't want to argue over) the worst offenders I've come across personally. 

I hate Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, with passion. Mostly because I was so disappointed at it when it came out... I wanted to explore Hogwarts like in the previous games. But you couldn't do that in GoF. T_T

Also, the characters' (finnish) voices were very, VERY annoying.

 

And I still went to the trouble of beating the game... two-three times, actually?

Well I am a true HP fan and I really love all the games. I agree that the voice acting is bad in HP7.

As for GoF it is ok to do something else for once and HP1 on gba is just nostalgic actually.

I think I have played to much HP back in that time .

I hate Dead Rising with a passion, everyone keeps telling me how good this game is but I just don't see it.

Most weapons do very little damage and break after like 4 swings.

the whole game is an time based escort mission and I hate time based and escort missions.

killing zombies is fun for like 2 minutes and then you relies most weapons are crap and you need to carry magazine and when type of weapon to actually kill anything without breaking your weapons.

The boss battles are just crap like literally crap and completely unbalanced

 

Maybe the sequels improved all lot of my issues with game but I don't want to buy them just see if they fixed them

Mario is Missing (SNES) -- It looks like a great game, but it has no plot whatsoever and the gameplay is so dull and boring.

Nostalgia (DS) -- great soundtrack, but the gameplay was just so repetitive and boring.  There was no intrigue or originality to it.

Quest 64 (N64) -- at first this game is great, but it has one major flaw: there is absolutely NO currency in this game.  And you can have only one healing item at a time.  A lot of things are lackluster about this game, but that currency and item flaw is just . . . blah.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (PS3) -- it just never got good for me.  The AI was not good, and the plot was dull.

 

These are just my opinions, of course, and I expect many people to actually like the games that I mentioned above.  I'm just picky when it comes to some games, though that doesn't mean that the game is bad. ; )

Here are the worst games ever! Pokken Tournament and Super Smash Bros for Wii U! Those games are just awful! Who in their right mind wants to see Pokemon battling each other and see Nintendo, Square Enix, Capcom, Sega, and Namco come together to make a game where you battle each other! Those games are the worst I have ever seen and NOBODY should ever play these awful games!

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

 

I loathe this game, compounded primarily because Path of Radiance is in my top ten favorite games of all time, and Radiant Dawn does its best to screw with a ton of the things that I liked. The most notable problem that I have is Micaiah, who is the ultimate Mary Sue. She has strange powers that make her super special awesome, she can talk to birds, everyone loves her unquestioningly, she is always positioned to have the moral high ground, she gets put in charge of the forces in spite of total lack of experience and no one bats an eye. And most importantly of all, she talks shit about Ike, who is one of my favorite characters exactly because he is the opposite of Micaiah in every way. He works his way from the ground up, learning from his acknowledged superiors of Titania and Soren. His biggest strength is trying to use diplomacy (often at edge with his somewhat grumpy and blunt [but never unapologetic] nature) on people who either are NOT on his side at all (like Shinon), or people who are initially desposed to neither like nor trust him (like Ranulf). Even as he rises, he accepts that he is not the one calling the shots in the grand scheme of things, and is just as much stuck in the machinations of Begnion as anyone else, making him far more relatable than someone who is put on a pedestal and constantly told how special they are. And when he DOES get put in charge of the company, the fall out is immediate and believable, with the more experienced veterans walking out on him for the reason that he's not as seasoned as they are, and Ike, to his credit, acknowledges that this is indeed the case, and tries to learn from the ones who stay behind until he can hold the reigns on his own. His rise to power is organic, believable, and his hard work and determination to get to the point where he can be called a General without question, on par with the expectations his father set for him, is a satisfying arc that makes him look stronger as a result. 

 

Of course, the game's rational for Micaiah calling out Ike is because she was on the losing side of the war that Ike won. And here's the problem with that: if you want me to feel any kind of sympathy for the country of Daen, who ran roughshod over Crimea in a war of active aggression, and was run by Ashnard who was far less than a nice guy, you are barking up the wrong tree. The game basically tries to guilt trip you for playing the predecessor, which is dumb when they were obviously the villains and warrant finite sympathies. The argument, of course, is that this is a different viewpoint trying to add layers of complexity to a war which involved multiple nations, and of course the losers would have an axe to grind that would be justified in their own right. Fair enough, but to whitewash over all of the garbage that Daen committed in order to establish the "freedom fighter" motivation of Micaiah and friends is dumb, and is something that is honestly not treated as a complicated issue because Micaiah is always presented as completely and totally correct. 

 

Now, flipping away from Micaiah for a bit, the game splits itself into acts, going over to what's happening in Crimea with Elincia and her guards trying to stop a coup (which, in fairness, is a really good story), and then Ike and the Greil Mercenaries come back to headline another act of the game. And while we do get the chance to play as the characters that I actually like, the switching from party to party to party, each with their own set of characters who, incidentally, are not leveling up in cohesion with one another, is disorienting and kind of annoying, as you no sooner get into one groove than you have to find another. The game really needed some streamlining here, if only to make it so you knew who was on your team and worked best with what situation.

Bayonetta. For the life of me I canNOT understand why it's so popular?? It's a watered down Devil May Cry starring a hypersexualized chick whose battle moves are ridiculous and nothing but further fanservice. The cutscenes are embarrassingly cheesy and the plot is just ???. Very rarely do I give up on a game, but I stopped only a few chapters in and never went back.

Resident Evil Outbreak. I am a HUGE fan of the RE series, but as many times as I've tried, I can't get into Outbreak. Stupid and useless AI, a terrible item system, zero instructions as to where you're meant to go, and a "live" menu system even when you're offline (also, online play is terrible).

Assassin's Creed Revelations. There were some parts I liked, but this was the game that officially killed my dwindling interest in the series (it took me that long to realize that the gameplay will never change, Ubisoft doesn't care to fix all the glitches, and the plot is a convoluted, make-it-up-as-we-go mess).

Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Strong cast, awesome graphics and GREAT promise, but the patches broke the gameplay, the Street Fighter characters were obviously favored and horribly overpowered, there was zero story compared to what the trailers advertised, what little story it did have was often VERY out-of-character, and the team's greedy, please-buy-all-our-DLC-and-Better-Versions tactic ruined my impression of the series for good.

 

And I'm not saying this is a bad game, but Monster Hunter. Any Monster Hunter. I always try the demos and I lose interest at about the same time that I realize I have no idea what I'm doing despite the (useless) tutorials. It's sad, though, because it looks like such a good series and I want to get into it.

Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, and the first one. I've also play Black Ops II, and III but not nearly finished them. Additionally I've read about and seen many vids on the others. There so repetitive and overrated in my opinion. I also think the stories are lackluster. Plus I feel they take focus away from JRPG's that I love. However if you like the series than I respect that.

Deep Labyrinth- I can't even find a Let's Play or a walkthrough of the game to actually beat it.

Impossible Mission- just can't beat it

Mirror's Edge- can't get into the first person action and the white hurts my eyes

Magnacarta 1, enchanted arms, the Simpsons game, dogs life, bleach soul resurrection, dbz ultimate tenkaichi, sonic spin ball.

Lucky Luke

I could say Lucky Luke for the PS1, but I don't think I should diss on it, since my mom gave me and my brother the game for Christmas. I guess my only downsides are:

1. Lucky Luke is one of those type of games, where you lose your lives, you start all over from the beginning. Unless, you have enough money to buy lives. 

2. It's not those type of games where there is a map, and you can go back to previous levels. (Casing point: Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.) 

3. Just like buying lives, only way to go back to the level you died from, is to buy passwords. Yup passwords, just to insert them in and you're back at the level you died from.

4. I guess one way to earn money is to advance through as many levels as you can without dying. 

5. NO MEMORY CARD USAGE! You don't use memory cards ever... 

I don't know if I miss anything, but besides the downsides, it does have some funny moments. Like this one level ( I guess the third level?) which I think it's a mini game? I thought it was a silly boss fight... You have this idiot laughing at Lucky Luke at the very start of the level, and there is a organized pile of cut up firewood, right in the middle of those two. And the only thing Lucky Luke has in his hand is a ping pong paddle. Yup... You read right.... You are playing a game of Ping pong, and you have this idiot picking up a log and throws it directly at you. And you have to try and to hit it back at him ( 3 times....) for the game to progress... You can die from this level. 

 

 

Spyro 4: Enter the Dragonfly

Dare I say this game, despite I rented this game back when Blockbuster and Hollywood Video's rentals existed. I know someone told me not to mention a Spyro game in one of the forums ( I guess only in the KH3 forum), but I'm going to mention about this game anyways. 

Now the game overall is fine. I don't have an issue of seeing familiar faces of the game. The music is pretty much cool just like the first 3 games. The "Bubbles" element of capturing the baby dragonflies, yeah it had it's hard moments to chase and blow bubbles to capture them. But it's fine to me. 

Only downside I have is--THE GLITCHING! YES, THE GLITCHING! Casing point: My younger brother was passing the last Rhynoc during the race at Banzai Speedway. Game said he was in second place. Plus, I guess "frame rate" could be another downside, but I didn't know anything about "frame rates" and I still don't today as an adult. 

Plus, wasn't aware the game company that made this game, was rushing it to beat an holiday deadline, let alone messed up this one kid healthwise. To the very point this kids parent or parents, sued the company. And the rest was history.

Time for what's probably going to be the most controversial list here, given that some of these are actually fairly popular... Note that I honestly don't really care if someone disagrees. It's fine if you like these games. I might be a little harsh on these with my descriptions, but as a future game developer, I'm very passionate about this subject. Not trying to cause any trouble, just stating my opinions.

 

 

Final Fantasy VIII- This game... I actually loved it for a while. But now... I can't stand it. The Draw system is one of the absolute worst gameplay mechanics I've ever seen. It just added pointless grinding to pad out the game, and it was incredibly irritating. Why can't I learn spells through a more conventional way? It's made worse by the fact that you have to junction your best spells to stats, meaning you can't use them at all. On top of these irritating gameplay mechanics, the cast of characters was one of the most boring, uninteresting, and least relatable casts I've ever seen. Honestly, the only character I can really say I liked was Laguna, and he was relegated to the occasional flashback. Squall is one of my least favorite protagonists of all time thanks to his "I don't give a crap about anything or anyone" attitude. I'll admit I only got to disc 3, but that's because the game just got so boring and I realized that I actually hated this game.

 

 

Kingdom Hearts X/Chi/Whatever you want to call it- This is one I was really excited for. An online KH game sounded really cool! But then, it turned out that by "online," they just meant that you can see and talk with other people in the raid bosses. The completely automated combat system made this game incredibly boring, and I felt no drive to continue playing. Chain of Memories did the card system right. Chi took out any sort of interaction and just made it so you watch your avatar fight with the deck you give him/her. There was nothing engaging about it at all. The fact that Nomura said it had no importance on the overall storyline then suddenly threw in some of the most convoluted and weird plot points he could possibly include makes me a little worried about the future of the series, honestly.

 

 

Five Nights at Freddy's- Stare at screens while you're staring at a screen. Such a fun idea! This game is honestly only "scary" due to jump scares. There's nothing more to the game than looking at cameras and hoping that you won't get hit by a jumpscare. I was into it for like... 2 weeks, before realizing that there wasn't any sort of interesting gameplay. Then it kept getting milked over and over... I just can't possibly get into it.

 

 

And... the big one...

 

 

Final Fantasy XII- Where do I even start with this game? This game is, by far, my least favorite game of all time. None of the other FF games that I dislike come close to this. Not X, not X-2, not even VIII. Why? This game can play itself. The license system is one of the most needlessly complicated things I've ever seen. Combat is incredibly boring with very little helping to engage the player. And, of course, this game throws in the most irritating and unlikable main hero I've ever seen... Then tries to shift the focus shortly into the game, but this kid just won't ever shut up. If we're supposed to be seeing the world through the eyes of someone ordinary, can't it be someone who is tolerable? This game had some ideas that genuinely sounded good, but it didn't end well since the game just puts me to sleep all the time. The sad thing is that I've seen a game do what this game was trying to do, and actually succeed at making me interested in it. That game, of course, is Xenoblade, my favorite game of all time. It's odd that my favorite and least favorite are so similar in terms of gameplay, but it's because both games took incredibly different approaches and I can't stand where FFXII went.
