Better not be true. Makes the whole Uncovered event seem meaningless since the whole purpose was to reveal the release date. This game feels like its NEVER gonna release at all

Its been confirmed by many reliable sources that it's real. (Sources that correctly leaked many topics such as NMS, FFXV original release date, etc.)

It could be also mean delay for the second batch for the collector's edition. Those were delayed.

If it comes out in September still then I'll buy it. If it comes out November 29th I'll still buy it, but it will be a more polished version. I mean I'm assuming the game is basically done now by this point and they are really just ironing any graphical / technical aspects and bugs they can fix. Working on getting a more stable frame rate and all that stuff. 

 

The last thing I want is for this game to come out and be the No Man's Sky of action-RPG games. If they need a couple of months to finish a game that's been in development for years already then I think that's understandable. People in this thread were saying "Oh it NEEDS to come out in September, on time." well I would say the game needs to be awesome more than it needs to come out on time. The disappointment from fans of a delay will be nowhere near proportionate to the amount of disappointment that will come if it releases and its a technical shitshow. 

 

I know it sounds like I'm making excuses but again, No Man's Sky, a game which literally released this week is a perfect example of what happens when you push a massively hyped game out just a couple of months ahead of when it really should be. 

I mean why anyone cares at all about release dates for games these days is beyond me... I just see a game's initial trailer and then I'm like "Cool, I'll get that when its available." its why I don't really post a lot in the Kingdom Hearts 3 section on here. I'm getting the game when its out as long as I'm still alive by then, I don't have anything else to say about it really. And that's where I'm at with FFXV as well. 

if it's true, im guessing that SE is afraid of Persona 5 affecting the sales of FFXV. i mean they wouldn't mention P5 in their poll months ago unless they think it would affect them

This release date will allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams.

“From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Really stupid reason to delay it IMO. The majority of gamers purchasing FFXV have an internet connection. Only a minority are without it. Besides, now they're gonna have to release a version of XV for the PS Neo as well since Sony said any game released after October must include support for the base PS4 in addition to the Neo.

His reasons are pretty dumb. Delaying the game 2 months to cater to a very small minority without internet is a terrible move. Look at all the titles releasing in November-December that will compete with XV. Pokemon Sun and Moon, COD Infinite Warfare, Dishonored 2, KH 2.8, World of Final Fantasy, Gravity Rush 2, South Park The Fractured but Whole. Square Enix just screwed themselves bigtime all because Tabata wanted to cater to a small minority

It doesn't bother me that much tbh Tabata cares about his fans a lot and you can see that with the video he made and all the interviews etc. He's not like Nomura......... since he actually listens to people and takes in feedback. It's 2 months, does it matter that much when you've been waiting for years?

 

There's no way that game would've run at 30fps on the original release day anyway.

 

Just be patient guys. It's not that long anyway. And what's a few more weeks for 2.8 anyway? It's not such a big deal to me but I guess it's because I'm more laid back

Oh wow. Cancelling a preorder because of a delay? The salt is real bro. He says he wants to have the game more polished at release, so it will be more polished at release. It'll be better than waiting for the Day One patch to download too.

I cancelled my ultimate collectors edition because I did'nt have the money haha! Wish I did'nt now...

What's this FF15 everyone's talking about? And what happened to Versus XIII? It's like it suddenly disappeared and got replaced with this new numbered game. Weird...

 

(I wasn't really planning to get this anyway, unless I end up getting a PS4, but for now... Eh.)
