Hopefully Nomura expands a little more in interviews, but knowing him he will be completely cryptic about it until a month before it releases where he will just start talking about it left and right.

I can understand your frustration about the different consoles for each game, as it was rather ridiculous that nearly every game came out on a different system. The important thing to understand here is that Square-Enix is a business before anything else, and businesses are always looking for ways to increase their income. As much as a game company may appear to be doing it all for the fans, there is always a business motive behind it; even Nintendo who seems to be the most fan-driven company do what they do because of money. The other important thing to understand is that this is Nomura's story, and that just because he releases a spin-off title does not mean that it is him trying to milk money out of people (for the most part) but that he is trying to tell part of his story. The reason the first KH game was so simplistic is because he thought it would be a one and done game, but since he was afforded the opportunity to continue along with it, he was able to develop his story further. Granted there have been things that he has put in there for no real reason, but he does his best to keep things relevant after they have been put in, which cannot be said about a lot of other storytellers out there. As far as the HD remixes go, yes they are another way to increase the company's revenue, but it was also a response to fans complaints about all the games being on different systems. These games were not required to be bought by anyone who had already played the games, they were just helpful to those who hadn't played them before, even though a lot of previous fans still bought them. 2.8 is the one collection that every fan would want to buy, as it includes two stories that have not been told before, and they are doing a service by putting on PS4 so that people can have a PS4 for KH3 as well. I will agree that not bringing the previous collections to PS4 is not helpful and defeats the purpose, but you have to remember that this is a company based out of Japan, and they will cater to Japan first. In Japan, Sony dominates the market and nearly everyone there has a PS3, so it doesn't really matter that they don't bring it to PS4 there, especially with the PS3 market still booming there. It is fine to have your opinions, but understand that these games are not created solely for the fans, but they are created because A) it is a way to increase revenue, and B) it is a way for these game creators to tell their story.

The game is based on your characters perspective, while the movie send to be based off the Foretellers perspective, it is two halves of a whole.

I am not sure, all I know is that the new synopsis makes Mickey come off as being pretty dark considering that he apparently has multiple secrets he has been keeping. I think it is safe to assume that nothing got better for Aqua, but rather she has learned things that make Xehanort more troublesome than originally anticipated.

As much as I wish it could be a full fledged game, it is too unrealistic considering everything else they have been working on. I would say between the 4-10 hour mark sounds reasonable since this is labeled as a new KH title and not simply called a demo of sorts. Not to mention that V2 was likely going to be a fully fledged game when first thought of, so there is still probably a decent amount of content left over from the original idea to make it a reasonable length.

Honestly, I think the Xbox version of KHIII only happened because Microsoft wanted in on such a large title and probably believed that it would help push Xbox One sales in Japan, so I am sure Microsoft handed Square a nice chunk of change to make that happen. Square has time and time again shown its favor for Playstation and Nintendo, with very few exceptions (looking at you Rise of the Tomb Raider). Anyone who bought an Xbox One for KHIII should not be surprised that the Playstation users are getting the better treatment here based on Square's history.

I am not sure if it will happen, but I think that this would be the opportunity to show those moments as to cut back on flashbacks in KHIII (Which there will still be a ton of). This would also be a great opportunity to reveal how the latter half of Org. XIII came into the fold, and possibly reveal their place as part of the new Org. XIII (Marluxia, Larxene, Luxord, and Demyx; the first three easily have more darkness in their hearts than the rest of the organization and I am 100% positive that there is more evil to Demyx than meets the eye). I am ready for TGS to officially begin so that the interviews with Nomura can start and we can get a better understanding of what this game will entail (even though I know Nomura will be as cryptic as ever).

It will all depend on how much content from the original BBS V2 is still left to tell. I would say 4 hours minimum, they need to make it substantial enough to where it could be justified as being labeled a separate title.

I will wait till Amazon puts it up, and I will definitely be upgrading to a collectors edition should one be made. I love that they didn't even need to announce that it would be released outside Japan, it helps take the worry off the fans and gives these announcements a much more global feel.

I actually want this to be based purely on the Realm of Darkness. I think there is probably more to the RoD than we know and plus if this game doesn't have much association with Disney properties it could lead to it being a much more dark and mature story, which I think a game about Aqua needs to be.

It has always been implied that they knew where Aqua was, but this new synopsis is implying that Mickey has known a lot more details about her time there than he has let on. This shows that Mickey has been a lot more mysterious and cryptic than he has led people to believe, it helps give Mickey more of an edge than he has had.

So Mickey has known about Aqua and what she went through in the RoD? This definitely thickens the plot.

I had always believed 2017, although my beliefs were swayed after this past E3 into believing late 2016, but I am fully back on the 2017 wagon.

While chances are that it is actually 2.8, I think 2.9 could be a separate package that includes 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8. I am not saying this is what will happen, as it would only make sense if the ps3 version of 2.9 was cancelled, but that would be the most likely case if 2.9 still exists.

As we all can agree, the reveal that a Fragmentary Passage would be included in 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue was the biggest bombshell of the collection, especially considering that it it looks to be done in the Kingdom Shader. What I don't think many people have realized is that doing this is a stroke of genius on Nomura's part: He is using and creating resources that are and will be used in KHIII Think about it: Chances are that we will be visiting the Realm of Darkness in KHIII (where this story takes place), Aqua is going to be in KHIII (The main character of this story), she will be most likely fighting heartless (already confirmed to be in KHIII), this game will likely feature combat mechanics of KHIII, and it is likely that other important characters will appear in some aspect. So what does this mean? A Fragmentary Passage is likely not taking away that much development time from KHIII, but rather working side by side with it Although we have not seen anything visually of X Back Cover, it is likely it will either be done in the Kingdom Shader or that it will be more a a textual journey. This is very good news as we will both be getting new content and that the development of KHIII will be impacted very little by this collection. Nomura, thank you for being the genius that you are!

I have a deeper interest in this game after I saw this trailer, mainly because it seems that it will be a more humourous game which I always enjoy.

I wasn't expecting them to announce anything like that at the Sony conference otherwise I would have, and it is something I wish I would have recorded.

After all these years of believing that Volume 2 would only happen in my wildest dreams, it is finally here, and to see my favorite character (Aqua) in those beautiful new graphics is a cherry on top of it all. Very excited about this collection as it seems to be very lore driven which I love!

Fully agreed, I am very doubtful that every one of my expectations will be met, but dagnabit if I am not going to love the crap out KHIII no matter what. Plus I am positive that any expectation not met will be made up for in some other aspect I am not expecting. Nomura may love to take his time with a game, but it is hard to argue with the results he produces.

Possibly finding out what 2.9 is or if it is even real (though it most likely is) Hearing about Final Fantasy XII HD (99% sure it is happening at this point) More FFXV goodness (Guaranteed we learn more about Luna and Regis) Learning what Motomu Toriyama's new title is (This would be the event to announce it at) Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness (Guaranteed to have a large presence) Announcement of a new Bravely title (Nakahara has stated he would like to release a game yearly) Learning about Square's RPG Factory title (New division dedicated to producing RPG's) Possibly learning a few new details about FFVII Remake (Nothing guaranteed, just hopeful) Possibly Square announcing FFXVI (not expecting this in the slightest, but could work as Square's "secret" title.) Although I have never touched the series, I am excited for the Persona fans to finally get a release date for Persona 5 And of course, all the surprises and new titles that will be announced. The great thing about TGS is that is about as important as E3 and it focuses a lot on my favorite genre: JRPG.

This is just an opinionated article, they are trying to state what will be there, just what they want to see. Also, 2.9 isn't even mentioned in the article. All that being said, I am doubtful that Square would let Sony announce something like 2.9 after they already let them drop the bombshell that is the FFVII Remake.

What I have trouble understanding is why people think the English version will get a release date at TGS...Because it makes sense to announce an English release date at a Japanese event... #Logic

I would love that, It would be nice to be able to finally put my PS2 away after all these years.; the poor thing is exhausted.
