  1. Wait a sec! Pause right there! Zoom! Enhance that image! Enhance it again! ........We got 'em, fellas. Let's go. that's what this reminded me of.
  2. from what i'm to understand they aren't as bad as they were at launch. i think maybe the save crash in KH2 is still a problem. also i think only KH1 and KH2 had bug issues as Re:CoM, BBS and DDD were all games the Osaka team had made so the source codes weren't lost, hence no risk of new bugs coming up during development. at least that's what i'm assuming. you're probably fine. it's not like the collections are on the same level as the Silent Hill HD collection.
  3. i wasn't sure at first but you've sure made a compelling argument for it lol
  4. coded being about Sora's dad was one that i heard. also there was one that Terra was either an older Sora or he was Sora's dad.
  5. KH, CoM and KH2 formed a pretty solid trilogy on their own and idk why Nomura didn't decide to just start a new plot line instead of bastardizing plot points and concepts from the original games. also don't know why Nomura is taking 5 and a half games to set up this one game. it's almost like there was no reason for KH3 to exist so he had to justify it and because the reasoning was so flimsy from a narrative perspective it's taken 5 games. nevermind the fact that we could have easily gotten to KH3 and had Apprentice Xehanort established as the main antagonist with only about one game, thus keeping the story concise and not off the rails with time travel and duplicates and X-Blades and Chi and Foretellers and a Book of Prophecy, etc etc. BBS should have been used to establish Apprentice Xehanort's character and his goals and motives. game ends with us cutting forward in time to the moment when he is reformed, after his Heartless and Nobody were destroyed by Sora in KH1 and 2. cut to black. roll credits. there. KH3 set up.
  6. lol Xehanort is starting to sound like that kid on the playground who kept changing the rules to the game so he couldn't lose
  7. i was trying to think of a joke title but tbh i think playing Sora's theme would be fitting. it's an upbeat tune that wouldn't be too overbearing for a state entrance. feels like a tune that would fit a triumphant sort of walk or something. and if that Nomura appearance was followed by some kind of big announcement then it would feel even more fitting.
  8. i'd be down for something like that as a new variation on the 99 Dalmatians side-quest. maybe we wouldn't be collected hundreds of Experiments but i think it'd be cool to have each one serve as some kind of unique boss fight or challenge that would exist in each world. the question is though, would they only be collectibles like the 99 Dalmatians or would they be mini-bosses? i feel like if they're just collections there's the plus side of being able to have more of them to find, making them more like the Dalmatians side question. But if they're mini-bosses it would make them more interesting to find, but you couldn't scatter maybe more then 2 per world or else it would start to feel samey and repetitive. maybe there could be a bit of a split where the majority of them are collectibles and a few are boss fights? personally i'd rather we just get maybe one or two experiments per world that serve as unique mini-bosses. either way i think it would be a neat little addition to the game that would help the Disney vibe feel a bit more present.
  9. honestly it's been a while since i sat down and read the manga. i'm planning on picking up the last volume of KH2 when it comes out though so maybe that's when i'll give the series a read through. from what i remember when i read them as a kid i enjoyed them simply because it was KH but like a comic and that was cool. the first KH2 manga from TokyoPop or whatever was my first manga and i remember that's how i got back into the series. i tried reading the novels once. went to a bookstore and read the first few pages of the KH1 novel and put it down pretty fast. it read like a fan had written it and it's odd because i'm not sure what criteria a piece of work has to meet to feel like fan fiction. i assume it's just because i'm so familiar with the games as games and so i've got some kind of bias when it comes to reading a novelization of the same work. it'd probably be different if it were a spin off story set in the KH series. then again that would just feel even more like fan fiction so what do i know lol
  10. i imagine if there was a Switch port, Nintendo would prioritize their own characters first. have they added a Splatoon fighter? i could see them wanting to do that, maybe a character from Arms, even. Cloud at least is a more commonly recognized gaming icon than Sora, like it or not. you could at least see why he might have been added to a popular fighting game featuring characters largely iconic to the general public. basically Sora has as much a chance of getting in now as he did back then
  11. idk 7 against 13 doesn't sound a whole lot better lol i've got it! Yen Sid puts the Princesses of Heart in one of his magic time bending portal or whatever they are, so that they get sent forward a week ahead. then one of the Lights can sit out of the big fight and is replaced with a couple dozen other worthy fighters that aren't guardians. Xehanort won't know what hit him. tbh i'm still not too sure on the relationship between the princesses of heart and the guardians of light. both can be used to forge the X-blade but can they be mixed and matched to fit the circumstances? surely Xehanort wouldn't fight the princesses because there's no way they'd be able to take down 13 Xehanorts. in BBS Ventus had to be toughed up before he was ready to forge the X-Blade so i would assume the same rules would apply here. would he just extract their hearts in a manner similar to what Maleficent did in KH1? except the Keyblade that formed from that was that Key to unlocking hearts so maybe not? if they only used 6 guardians of light would Xehanort just steal one heart from a princess and that would work just as well? idek how that would be applied to the situation. when everyone clashes, would Xehanort just throw that one loose heart into the mix and then it'll work as intended? or if only 6 lights show up to fight will Xehanort throw up his hands and just go after the princesses like, "Look if you guys don't want to take this seriously then i'm just going to kidnap the princesses!"
  12. they could just fight the 13 Xehanorts but make someone sit out of the fight so it's only 6 vs. 13. checkmate Xehanort
  13. i'm gonna say no. for me, KH2FM was the high point of the series and i just can't see how KH3 could possibly match that game, especially since we're going into a plot that's juggling plot points from about 5 and a half previous games. KH2 may have taken the story to ridiculous heights but it at least felt like a natural progression going from KH1, to CoM, and then to KH2. all the games building up to KH3 have felt segmented and distant from one another because they all just tell snippets of a larger story, and while that sounds like crafty storytelling, it's not well executed imo. Nomura took the scenic route when it came to laying out the groundwork for KH3 and now there's a ton of baggage to focus on. i'm going in expecting the game to be more of what DDD brought to the table, as far as plot is concerned. i haven't played 0.2 yet so i'll remain cautiously optimistic that the combat will at least be enjoyable for KH3, and if that's the case i'll be fine with a ridiculous nonsense story. having fun gameplay will make whatever story we get a lot more bearable.
  14. if i had to guess i'd say maybe lost pages from the Book of Prophecy. assuming Maleficent and Pete are still planning on going after it, it makes sense that it would have some relevance in KH3. i just reminded myself Maleficent and Pete are still characters in this story and they'll probably have their own plot along with everything else that's going on. ooh boy
  15. time travel in this series still doesn't sound too thought out. and how is that clash of 7 and 13 supposed to even work? do they all have to fight at the same time? are they all just going to run at each other and then we'll get a bright flash of light and suddenly the X-Blade is there? at least when the method for forming the X-Blade was a 1v1 it was a bit easier to understand how it might have formed. a fight between 7 and 13 people just seems so unbalanced and chaotic. or is xehanort casting a wide net in the hopes that one of the 7 and one of the 13 will be the strongest of each side and then they'll fight each other and make the x-blade? at this point i'm more interested in playing KH3 just to see if Nomura can tie everything up.
  16. "If everything goes according to plan, there will be a trailer at E3 and the game will be released in 2018, even if it’s unfinished." and "As many of you may know, Kingdom Hearts II, Birth by Sleep, and Dream Drop Distance ended up having removed content, so it is nothing new for Kingdom Hearts. All that was planned won’t be in Kingdom Hearts III, simple" these two statements aren't adding up to me. there's a difference between releasing a game unfinished and a game releasing with cut content. BBS had a whole world and an FF character cut before release but no one would call that game unfinished because of it. if KH3 releases and feels as broken up and bare bones as FFXV did on launch then that could be considered unfinished. BBS still felt like a complete package at launch, despite having content cut. so maybe that's just poor word choice on this guys part. a statement that suggests KH3 will released unfinished is more concerning to me than hearing content will be cut. because yes with the majority of games released, content is cut one way or another. that isn't anything new. i'll continue to take this all with a grain of salt until we have more solid info to go on.
  17. what a way to end things. the game fans waited on the longest winds up feeling rushed and unfinished. more salt for this open wound please.
  18. not believing any of this till we get some solid info to go on
  19. lol oh it's not hard to find the fun in that, xaldin
  20. i enjoyed P3 (i played the portable edition). it was my introduction to the series and i loved that one. it really changed my perspective on turn based games because up to that point i never thought i'd be into them. P3's music and premise convinced me to make a blind $40 purchase and give it a shot and it paid off big time. P3 also changed how i thought about video game music. Before i played P3 i actually didn't really pay too much attention to the music of games but man that OST was great. that being said, though, i'd probably still say P4 is my favorite. i think it was just the presentation that did it for me. the combat was a lot more enjoyable, you had the fully 3D locations and characters, the cutscenes...all that good stuff. Plus I really just connected with the characters in P4 more so than in P3. some of the additions in P4: Golden also improved the experience like the assists you could get from your teammates, i.e. Rise being able to add stat buffs at random times during combat. Things like that during the final boss really made you feel like part of a team.
  21. maybe we'll get a release decade. honestly i'll be very surprised if we get a release year, but i think the rule of thumb should be that if we do get one, we should all mentally add one more year to it to cover delay time because i'm positive we'll be getting at least one delay for KH3.
  22. i platinumed both collections when they first came out and i'd say BBS and Re:CoM were the toughest of the bunch. I spent an entire spring break on grinding out the mini-games for BBS and by the end i was exhausted and never wanted to touch the game again. Re:CoM's only major hurdle for me was the level grinding, specifically with Riku. With Sora all you had to do was run around Destiny Islands spamming Mega Flare and it'd make short work of enemy encounters and net you a large amount of EXP. With Riku I think all you can do is manually fight the enemies in Castle Oblivion. felt like way more of a chore. all i can say is find a podcast or some music to listen to while you do it. some of the card collecting in Re:CoM was also annoying because it relied so much on random chance but usually by the end of the game you'll have a decent enough head start on the collection i think.
  23. nope. i don't buy it. i just can't accept the idea that after a mediocre first movie, and a weird spy thriller sequel starring the dumb sidekick, we're suddenly going to get an emotionally driven third movie that'll tug at our heartstrings. there's just no way. i don't mind being proven wrong. if the movie at least has a story that is really good it would justify it's existence beyond merchandising.
  24. i could see them throwing in a new character seeing how the original cast seemed to mostly have their lives in order. a new character would introduce a new conflict. tbh idk where elsa they could take the story that would be interesting but i guess we'll see.
