  10. A new video has been uploaded on the late XXXTENTACION's YouTube channel featuring "Nocturne", a track composed by Kingdom Hearts composer Yoko Shimomura in memory of the late musician Jahseh Onfroy, who was a big fan of Kingdom Hearts. Here, Shimomura is seen playing the piano for the track; at the end of the video, Yoko responds to an question on why she decided to name the track "Nocturne", while a video of Onfroy listening to her music on repeat on a boat plays in the background. The video also features tweets that Onfroy had made about his love for Kingdom Hearts. "Nocturne" is featured on the Deluxe edition of XXXTentacion's second studio album "?", which released today. Shimomura said on Twitter that she composed the track while thinking about what Onfroy was thinking in the very last moments before his death, and that she would be happy if fans would listen to it. She also wrote that Onfroy loved her music so much that he listened to her songs before going to bed every night. She added that when she was shown the video of Onfroy on the boat listening to Kingdom Hearts music (more specifically, the track "Vector to the Heavens" from Shimomura's album "memória!"), it brought her to tears. You can watch the video and listen to "Nocturne" below. The description of the video is as follows. Translations for this article were provided by KH13 Staff @Mio-chan.

  18. So since it's quiet on the KH3 news front, I thought I'd write a little post about some of the returning music in KH3 Obviously we can expect plenty of new themes from Yoko Shimomura, (For example the toy story world & battle themes), but I've noticed a few old or remixed music tracks in the trailers: - Hand in Hand (Attraction Flow theme) - An Adventure in Atlantica (Ariel summon) - The Deep End (Rock Titan boss) - Shrouding Dark Cloud (Gigas Mech battle) - Hunter of the Dark (Heartless Doll fight) - Some form of Fate of the Unknown/Aqua's theme (Aqua fight) I'm sure we can expect other familiar tunes, like Destati and of course, Dearly Beloved. Personally I'm hoping for a variant of 'Another Side' like this (@ 40 seconds) https://youtu.be/yxF0h156sDk Also heard in 'The 13th Dilemma' and 'Showdown at Hollow Bastion' Anyone else have some thoughts on what they think/would like to see return music-wise?
  19. This is a question for all of those on here who stumble upon this topic, and have also had the pleasure of playing the KH3 Demo, be it at one of the recent conventions or the Premiere Event, How did Dearly Beloved sound like? The reason I ask is because I watched HMK's demo impressions on Youtube, and he made a comment on how good the Dearly Beloved sounded. So I ask you all, for those who have maybe listened to it and bothered to take it in: how did it sound like? Was it an old version, or the brand new one meant for KHIII? What was the feeling that you got for it. An example would be the 358/2 Days version emitting a hint of tragedy, whilst KH1's depicted the starting of a new journey, KH2's being the halfway point of that journey, and BBS's theme seeming to allude to awakening. Those are my impressions from listening to those versions of Dearly Beloved. So what are the impressions you get from the KHIII demo version of Dearly Beloved?
  20. Hey folks! So this is going to be a longish post regarding the music of BOTH KH and moreso KH3. So first thing is about the KH 2018 orchestra world tour going on currently. I've been hearing about a beautiful arrangement for Oath being performed at the current run of the tour...And although I have found live videos, I am dying to hear a real deal recorded version..So I'm curious if anyone knows if they are planning on doing a "second breath" CD or something?? I would love for it to also feature some stuff I was really sad that didn't make it onto the first soundtrack (Ventus' theme, Sanctuary/Passion, Organization 13 theme, 100 Acre Wood, Working Together, Mysterious Tower theme, One Winged Angel - maybe melding both the classic version and the Advent Children metal version?, etc. - feel free to chime in with any suggestions you may have too!!). Now the second thing was regarding Nomura's comments about FF characters being in KH3....Since a majority of them are FF7 characters as it's the most popular entry (my favorite too) - I would personally LOVE to hear Aerith's theme in KH3. If nothing else just to add onto the whirlpool of emotions already attached at the hip to KH3 (plus, can you imagine if it was also a beautifully composed, UPDATED piece for this day and age?? Ugh the feels.) But would any one else enjoy that? Thirdly, the anticipated would be "new" version of the iconic Simple and Clean...What would you guys and gals like to see happen for that? Personally I'm low-key expecting either a dubstep or rap version of it lmao (75% kidding)...Honestly I'd be fine with an even more slowed down version like that of Hikari but with singing.... And lastly - While on the subject, how would you like the final fight with Xehanort to be handled musically? I have this image in my head (which I'll go into at a later date in a video) of it being a very intense polarizing (and prolly long) fight with a darker more intense Hikari playing with like choral singing in the back (like that of the aforementioned One Winged Angel)? TL;DR - 4 things. 1 - Do you think we'll receive a second KH orchestra tour soundtrack (esp with some KH3 music and new additions from past entries)? Has there been any talk of that? I wanna hear this orchestrated Oath. 2 - Would anyone else besides yours enjoy hearing an updated version of Aerith's theme (FF7) somehow in KH3? 3 - If there is a new one...What do you anticipate the "new" version of Simple and Clean will sound like? 4 - Musically, how do you envision the final confrontation with Xehanort? I picture a more darker version of S&C with choral background singers. Feel free to let me.know what y'all think!! Let's get some good discussions going!!
  21. What other future game(s) should Yoko Shimomura compose for?
