Just when you think you're about to run out of ideas, random thoughts pop into your head. Lots of good ideas can come from random thoughts, eh?
KeybladeMasterBalo repliedIKR! Most of my best ideas come out of nowhere, specially when I'm about to sleep :v
The Transcendent Key repliedOr when you have a number of thoughts in your head, and out of all of them, one particular thought comes into mind, and that's where the idea starts taking shape!

So Daniela, you're from Germany, huh? That's awesome! You write English quite fluently! It looks like all that studying you've done has reaped its rewards!
Merilly repliedYup I'm from Germany and I sure hope it has, considering I have my Bachelor's degree now.
Of course there are certain expressions or phrases I have yet to understand and sometimes my sentences are a bit unstructured, especially when I'm sleepy, but it's enough to communicate properly.
Though I must admit you're very eloquent yourself, native or not.
The Transcendent Key repliedOh wow, well, honestly, I wouldn't notice it in the slightest! Your English is perfect, and it's nice and sophisticated! Kind of like my own English! And thanks, I appreciate the compliment! And I learned my English through Sesame Street, Barney and anything that was given to me in English. So I'd like to say that I'm pretty fluent in the language!
Merilly repliedThat must have been pretty early on for you and why it's so good now.
I've only begun really learning English when I was in 9th grade, before that I had terrible grades. But then I wanted to read fanfiction for specific characters which weren't too common in German and that's hoe I've been introduced to the glorious wonders of English. Really, learning that has opened so many possibilities, especially in the Anime/Manga/Games department. The Transcendent Key repliedYeah, it helped, and since we absorb a lot when we're children, that only adds to the learning, ya know? Ah, so fanfictions gave you the motivation to try out English, huh? That's awesome! I say it's really good, because you've learned quite a lot! Haha, and believe me, it is a blast reading manga, watching anime and playing games in English.
Merilly repliedThat's true but my parents weren't too keen on teaching us what little English they knew and back then the internet wasn't really a thing either. That's why it's great you got to learn it so early and had fun doing it. That's alwayw the best way to learn. And indeed, it provides so many possibilities. And thanks to Amazon & Co I can even buy English manga without paying for shipping and waiting weeks. It's also nice to be able to focus on the shows instead of s...
Merilly replied*subtitles. That's why I wouldn't mind not getting a localization for the most part as long as the English one is good. ^-^ Especially for KH, despite growing up with the German voices, I've gotten used to the English dub so much that I wouldn't want to play it in German, despite it not being inferior.
The Transcendent Key repliedAh, I see. Well hey, but even though your parents weren't too big on teaching you English, at least you reached out on your own, and I have to say that you've reaped the rewards greatly, as you can enjoy a great many things because of it! Haha, and I know what you mean regarding subtitles! I always watch anime in English, I only watch it in Japanese if I have no other choice, that being because said anime would not have an English Dub, ya know?
The Transcendent Key repliedBut yeah, when I read, watch or play something, it has to be in English, simply because I enjoy the language, ya know? I also know Spanish, but reading in Spanish just doesn't do it for me, ya know? It's not that I can't read it, but I find it more interesting when I read, watch, play in English, ya know? Oh, and you collect manga? What manga do you have, now that we're talking about it?
The Transcendent Key repliedAlso, I just noticed that I said ya know way too much in that reply. Lol, I blame Rai for contaminating me with his "Ya know" catchphrase.
Merilly repliedFor me, it also depends a bit on the quality of the dub. For Anime, it's mostly English and Japanese since the recent dubs in German aren't too great most of the time anymore. But for quite a lot of movies, I prefer the German dub because it's easier to discern who's talking. Especially in live action movies, other languages have the advantage that they just need to choose a voice, which often ends up being more iconic than the original due to that.
Merilly repliedThey don't need to focus on whether the actor fits since only the voice matters. I also prefer it for some older Disney movies because Disney cares a lot about good dubs. Though it mostly affects certain characters. I'm not someone who thinks English is always better, but especially in the Manga/Anime and game department it often is. For example, Hades will forever be better in German for me.
His voice is amazing and he captures it so well.Merilly repliedBut I often prefer English. Just not for some older Disney movies and live action.
As for what manga I collect: a whole lot.
And I read so much more online which haven't been release in German/English yet. But maybe I can start with what I currently collect. For example, I love The Ancient Magus Bride, Pokemon Special, Frau Faust, The Seven Deadly Sins, Pochi Kuro, etcMerilly repliedI often find myself not reading manga with too many volumes somehow, although I've read Fairy Tail, Naruto and still read D.Gray-Man. I just often lose interest when a manga doesn't seem to go anywhere like I currently have the feeling with Detective Conan and One Piece. Something I definitely recommend is Immortal Rain, although it unfortunately wasn't completely released overseas due to Tokyopop vanishing off the market. What about you?
The Transcendent Key repliedYeah, I understand what you mean. When it comes down to it, there are many variations on Dubs, and some of them stick out more than others. Most times people try to search for voices that fit the characters, and other times, a whole different process takes place, which I find interesting! The fact that the casting crew manages to find exceptional voice actors/live action actors to play their roles and they do them so well is a testament to how intricate acting is, no matter what language,...
The Transcendent Key repliedya know? And oh wow, that's quite the collection of manga you have! You're quite the invested otaku, that's awesome! As for myself, I have the first 9 volumes of One Punch Man, a KH2 manga volume, and the first four volumes of Fairy Tail! I had also read through the first arc of Blue Exorcist online! I plan on expanding my collection soon enough!
The Transcendent Key repliedAnd when it comes to manga, like anime, I choose to collect the manga that interest me, and I like that the manga has special features and the author's thoughts and original concepts and the like, it's a very interesting experience flipping through the pages of a manga! (Lol, and thanks, appreciate your understanding.)
Merilly repliedThat's true. I'm generally not too fond of characters receiving voices from live action stars unless they get some proper training. I feel like a lot of studios forget that voice acting is different from normal acting. Since the actors cannot move as much and often don't have any partners to work with or even worse, don't even know who they're voicing, it's not a simple task at all. Some stars can do it well but others are somehow just chosen because they're famous.
Merilly repliedI have a broad collection of manga
I own around 1100 volumes and have read at least the same amount of series/one shots overall. So ysah, I'm a pretty bad otaku. But I'm also the kind who doesn't get deeply invested in most of them. For example, KH is the only franchise I'm deeply in love with and have contact with nearly daily, then I have quite a few more series I really adore but which aren't really much of a topic I talk about as often.Merilly repliedI can understand that sort of sentiment. Of course there are a lot of light reads one can resort to when bored but those are usually never longer than 4-5 volumes for me. If something really caught your eye, it probably doesn't matter how long it is. And it's nice to hear that you care about originality. That's a bit hard to find at times but once you've found it, it's all the more satisfying.
Merilly repliedIn your case, I'd also expand the collection slowly and look them up online to consider if you really want to buy them. That's what I do most of the time nowadays since there are just too many to choose from and they're not exactly cheap. I own a lot of manga which I don't read anymore or have only read once because there wasn't the opportunity back then. That's why I think it's smart to ask the opinions of others.
The Transcendent Key repliedYeah, the world of voice acting is always interesting, and there's many up and coming voices that distinguish themselves from the crowd, ya know? It's pretty awesome to see the voice acting industry keep expanding as it has over the years!
Also, 1100 manga volumes!? O.o *Bows down in respect.* You, madam, have earned my utmost respect! Next to that, my collection is barely beginning! I have much to learn from you!!!! X_X
The Transcendent Key repliedWow, so I bet that you must have quite an expansive library in your home to store all those manga, then! And yeah, before getting into any manga, I always investigate to make sure it's something I'll enjoy before purchasing it. After all, money doesn't grow on trees!
Merilly repliedThat's true. Voice acting has come a long way and it's also nice to see new people too. They don't really need to be popular since I feel they're just trying to make it a selling point and they get paid so much more than regular voice actors...
Admittedly, I've been collecting for 13 years now and quite a few of them are also from bargains. I can't buy everything either but I still feel the need to suppprt the author,so I don't want to read just online.
Merilly repliedBut I still think that reading online is a good thing. Due to that,a lot more manga have become available over the years. Of course it's a growing industry but I feel a lot of series were picked up because a lot of people read them, although they might not have sold in Japan as well. Sometimes I think that they should release this and that and then it's on the list for the next few months. ^-^ And you also save money. No one wants to invest in a
The Transcendent Key repliedYep, voice acting is all about bringing the soul into the character you play, or at least, that's what I'd like to think! As someone who wants to get into the voice acting industry, I hope that I could be able to make it big!

Yeah, I get what you mean! It's like some mangas can start off great and end up bad, and then we, the consumer would feel like we've wasted all of our money on a collection. But hey, at least we have consumer opinions and the kno...
The Transcendent Key repliedledge with which we can be able to deduce which manga we want, ya know? And yeah, I'm glad that the manga/anime industry has been able to expand over the years, because really, I think that this industry is one of the most creative out there! I just love that Japan cranks out these amazing stories almost constantly!
Merilly repliedI hope so for you
It would be so amazing to hear your voice and record for a character. And if you're really into it, I'm sure you'd make a good voice actor. What kind of character would you like to voice first if you had the chance to choose?Yeah exactly. Resale value for Manga is actually fairly high but it's not solely about the money but rather the disappointment and the time going down the drain...
Merilly repliedI also think it's one of the most creative and also one of the most expressive. I don't have anything against western comics and there are a lot of different styles but I feel like the more realistic a style aims to be, the more rigid and emotionless (or plastic?) the facial expressions become. That's something "simpler" styles seem to accomplish better and I absolutely adore seeing emotions. It's why I like big eyes so much too. They're better at conveying
The Transcendent Key repliedThank you, your kind words mean a lot! Haha, yeah, I'd love to get the chance to bring life to numerous character! If I had to choose, though, I think that the greatest honor for me would be to voice a character in Kingdom Hearts, most preferably a villain! But hey, any role would be badass, as long as I get to lend my voice to the KH universe! And really, I'm the type of person that'd go into any role, and I'd give my all to it!
And yeah, it...
Merilly repliedall these emotions and it's something KH excels in and I hope that won't be lost in the new engine due to the problems they had wirh it. All those tiny eye movements you don't normally notice in others become so visible there, which make them so lively somehow. If you observe closely you can see the eyelids close slightly here and there during talking or the eyss moving ever so slightly. It's brilliant and so observant.
The Transcendent Key repliedreally is! It's a good thing we have access to the variety of manga that we can access, eh?
And yes, I know what you mean. You can feel the raw emotion much more in anime/manga, not to say that comics/cartoons aren't good, but anime/manga do things better a lot, ya know?
The Transcendent Key repliedYes, KH is badass with its facial expressions and character portrayals. It's a big plus!
Merilly repliedI always think that the people voicing or playing villains have a lot of fun doing that. Probably because there are a lot of interesting personalities involved. That's not to say good characters can't do that, but looking at how Haley Joel Osment voiced Vanitas, he sure seemed like he was having loads of fun acting like a maniac at times.
Merilly repliedAnd there might even be a chance for you to do something KH related. They don't seem to only employ extremely well-known voice actors if the voice fits a character and with the series going on, there are bound to be new characters who will need a voice.
Exactly! Anime and the style associated with it seems to achieve emotions better than most other media. That's why I value it so much.
Merilly repliedEspecially the raw emotions are something which really get to me. I want to feel with the characters, that's why I was really insecure about the character models in the new engine. Luckily they got better but they still need some work. But in the end, we don't know the cause or why it suddenly looked so different from the cutscene in the E3 2015 trailer or from the current in-game,but there's hope. ^-^
The Transcendent Key repliedYes!!! It's like I say: "Behind every great hero is a greater villain!" And it's true, I think that voice actors get a kick out of voicing someone who doesn't do good things at all!
I agree, Haley really nailed the role of Vanitas! In fact, I didn't know it was Haley until I saw his name in the credits! You can imagine the shock I had! So yeah, voicing a villain would indeed be a treat!
The Transcendent Key repliedAnd yessss, I just hope one day Nomura and Yasue can deem me worthy of lending my voice to the almighty KH series!
Yeah, I think that Japanese people understand human emotion on a bigger scale because of the way scenes can make you cry! Like, I have legit cried at anime scenes more than cartoon scenes! Goes to show how the Japanese can nail emotion! The Transcendent Key repliedDon't worry, I'm confident that KHIII will deliver emotionally quite well, just you wait!
Merilly repliedMe neither
Otherwise it would have been easier to anticipate what he would look like. But at the same time, it made the reveal of his face extremely mindblowing because I didn't even suspect it was Sora's VA.I usually cry at more anime scenes too than I do with cartoons, though this may also be due to the style and also that cartoons often feel more directed
Merilly repliedat children than at adults. Of course I've also cried due to western animated movies, but the more focus on the face and the style is, the easier it becomes to perceive emotions. It's not necessarily a Japanese trait but of course we see a more facial changes in anime usually.
I'm glad you're so positive.
It makes my worries about KH3 a little more bearable to see you so confident since I have a lot of fears concerning the models and story. The Transcendent Key repliedHaha, I know! It definitely was one heck of a revelation, and it got me thinking that Haley really has a good vocal range to voice different types of characters, as evidenced with his Sora/Vanitas contrast! And yeah, the thing is that in addition to the art, the music and the voice acting really convey the emotions going on at any given scene. One anime in particular I've cried for is Clannad, and if you've seen it, you know why I say so!
The Transcendent Key repliedAnd Your Lie In April as well, it's heart-wrenching! And yeah, I'm pretty positive that Kingdom Hearts III will blow our minds away and will probably be the best title in the series yet!
Merilly repliedDefinitely one of the most terrible revelations in terms of timing, though.
There was just so much to process about it and you barely had the time to even think about it before the battle started, although it was not even complicated to understand the reason why he basically looked like Sora with small cosmetic changes.Merilly repliedClannad and Your Lie in April were really sad and so was Re:Zero, though with the latter, I felt more of that despair was delivered through the music and the setting than the characters. Music especially is a great medium to bring that across. I still cry when I only hear Tears of Life from the first Pokemon movie. Gosh that song. It's so recognizable.
Merilly repliedThat's why I love that optimism.
I have a few concerns regarding KH3 with all the information we've received, and with all the changes that were made, and although I treat leaks carefully, even the information from those can sometimes be a bit worrisome. That's why I appreciate people who can see that there are certain construction sites remaining but are positive that they'll be able to fix those in time. It makes me a bit more calm. The Transcendent Key repliedI remember that when I saw Vanitas's face for the first time, I totally flipped out and I was like: "Wait, what, evil Sora!? How is this possible!?" I basically lost my mind.
Ooh, and yes, Re: Zero! That anime needs another season, and I agree, the soundtrack definitely delivers on the premise of despair and hopelessness. The main protagonist's constant deaths are just brutal! X_XThe Transcendent Key repliedYep, and think about it this way! Next month, it'll have been 7 months since the final footage we got from last year's D23, so think of all the improvement that's been done since then! I'm confident that we'll see even more impressive footage come D23 in February!
Merilly repliedUrgh, sorry for the late reply. I've been terribly busy with exams, health and such but I'm finally getting some space to breathe again.

Same for me! That was one of the biggest revelations for me and they did it marvelously. I didn't even guess it would happen, especially because thegoice wounded so different.
It's certainly one of the more depressing and tragic anime but they executed it well. Better than I expected when I first heard of it.
Merilly repliedThat's also true. 7 months is a long time and if we look at how much that did for 0.2, there should be vast improvements. The surroundings already look as great as they should and even better, so I feel there isn't much more work done in that regard other than fixing lighting problems here and there maybe. They just need to be a bit careful that it doesn't become too realistic.
They're doing a fantastic job with that.Merilly repliedThen again, UE4 never really gave me reason to doubt the settings. It excels at just that while models seem to be a bit more complicated. Still, it's probably better than the Luminous engine because I heard that one may look good but is utter hell to work with. Which isn't too far-fetched if you consider that only one game was made with it and even upcoming titles have switched to UE4.
What do you think about weather effects and day/night cycles?
The Transcendent Key repliedIt's alright, no need to apologize! I'm glad that you're doing okay!
Haha, yeah, it was definitely a surprise, and I wonder if Nomura was expecting that sort of shock from everyone? I bet he was laughing mischievously in the background, lol.

Yep, it's definitely a well made anime, and they managed to make the deaths and constant getting to know the characters again trait work well and not feel repetitive, ya know?
The Transcendent Key repliedAnd yes, I am confident that with all this time we've had without seeing any more footage of the game, we will be impressed by what we see when we get new footage! I'm confident that the character models and the locales and everything will be on point, and it'll be a handsome representation of what Kingdom Hearts will be from now on! If 0.2 was the groundwork, then III will be the grand attraction!
The Transcendent Key repliedYeah, apparently, Unreal Engine is really user friendly, hence why most game developers use it. As for weather effects and day/night cycles, I think that when done properly, they add a nice flavor to the game! It'd be cool if KHIII had weather effects and day/night cycles!
Merilly repliedI'm sure he was expecting it
I mean, he's obviously a pretty smart man to come up with so many things and without these moments, some games wouldn't be as surprising anymore. KH doesn't need extreme plot twists to be good but that's probably why they hit all the harder and are very memorable.Anime focusing on some sort of reincarnation or a lot of deaths need to be creative to make it appealing. Stereotypes aren't always bad,
Merilly repliedbut they can become tiresome if not pulled off in a manner that's relatable. Which is why I can't really watch some anime because they are too repetitive and characters blur into each other.
Your optimism is really great! It actuality makes me feel less restless, mainly because you are aware of some of the problems without beautifying them but still have good arguments as to why one should have faith.
Merilly repliedI think weather effects and day and night cycles would be a good addition, though I'm a bit reserved due to cutscenes and would probably appreciate them more if they are fixed at the first visit and then become flexible. Most games cannot handle cutscenes playing with a different effect and basically switch to the desired weather and time of day (like GTA, Pokemon, etc.) which can be a bit disturbing if they are story-driven like KH. Though I would enjoy different effects.
The Transcendent Key repliedYeah, well, Kingdom Hearts has developed it's following due to three factors: Nomura and his team's genius creative minds, the Disney/Final Fantasy nostalgia factor, and the fact that the series plays out like an enticing anime! And with the twists Nomura puts here and there, all the more so! The man sure is something! I'm really happy that KH keeps getting recognition day by day! Makes me so proud! :') And yeah, like anything, the way an anime is executed...
The Transcendent Key repliedwholly depends on the creator's vision, ya know? Ha, and thanks! I appreciate the kind comment! Really, I'm just the person that really treats things positively, and with that being said, I'm sure KHIII will turn into a masterpiece! I'm sure Nomura will build upon everything he has experimented on over the years to culminate in his best work yet!
The Transcendent Key repliedAnd well, if weather effects and day/night cycles do make it into KHIII, here's hoping the systems are pulled off well, and as you said, don't change abruptly because of a cutscene requirement or anything.
Merilly repliedI just hope that the nostalgia doesn't become a factor which could impair the reception of KH3. A lot of fans are either completely against the changes or love them and I feel like the former group has a hard time letting go of how things were for 15 years. I can understand that sentiment a little, though I also know KH3 cannot remain the same as always. The other games are still looking great, no questions asked, but it is undeniable that
Merilly repliedgraphics have become an important factor for a lot of gamers unfortunately and they now have the possibilities to do a lot more than 15 years ago. If they want to reel in more people, it needs to evolve to fit a certain standard expected of major franchises and companies. Which doesn't mean people aren't allowed to criticize. I also criticize models, etc., but it should be practised with moderation. There are not only negative parts.
Merilly repliedFor example, I feel like the newest trailers have very over-saturated colors all of a sudden and are considerably darker than before in terms of lighting. Xemnas' skin is way too dark in comparison to all other media and lacks the sun's reflection from before. It's like they removed light sources. However, the models look quite a bit better for the most part, despite still needing some detail and still not as good as the gameplay ones, but all in all
Merilly repliedit's a favorable impression. They certainly made quite a bit of progress (and maybe tried to add a bit too much here and there),though I'm a bit concerned whether or not it'll truly be finished by the end of this year. I mean, it really seems to be impressively massive.
What do you think about the trailers?
The Transcendent Key repliedGod, I don't even know where to begin! The trailers have blown me away, and you can tell just how massive the progression of Kingdom Hearts III has come along! Like, all these months of work are paying off! Nomura said that he had a team that was specifically charged with lighting, so I'm sure that'll be fixed. And yeah, in terms of graphics, everything changes with time, as nothing can stay the same forever.
The Transcendent Key repliedI am more than happy and looking forward to this new graphical age of the Kingdom Hearts series, and we're still looking at an unfinished product! I bet that by the time E3 comes around, we'll get a trailer where we'll see the game at it's most complete form, and by then, I'm sure it'll look so impressively amazing that it'll just make our minds implode with the question: "Is this humanly possible?"
The Transcendent Key repliedNomura really wants to outdo himself with this game, and I'm seeing he's going to achieve just that!
Merilly repliedI hope so
I mean, they have a whole team for facial movement and lighting, so it does make one wonder why it took them so long. And hopefully said team doesn't overdo it like in 0.2. But nevertheless, I'm still pretty pleased by the progression. It's obvious that they weren't twirling their thumbs and going 'wheee' on their chairs the past few months but actually put a lot of effort into the game. And it's also nice to see that they're taking the critcism wellMerilly repliedand use it to improve the game instead of being salty like some other developers. I'm also rather happy with Sora's monster form. I don't want more transformations in the main story since the scene with Vanitas was a little awkward, but in comparison to the leaks, I must say that Sora looks adorable. The colors also suit him more and I'm glad the orange fur seems to be some sort of form change.
The Transcendent Key repliedYeah, it's pretty darn impressive that they have a whole team just dedicated to facial movement and lighting! It just goes to show just how much attention to detail Nomura and the team want to put into this new era of Kingdom Hearts! I think it's an admirable thing! KH has always been graphically impressive, and it looks like KHIII won't be any exception! But yes, I'm sure that in the following months, progress will only continue to amaze!
The Transcendent Key repliedAnd I find that the monster forms Sora and friends have are pretty darn hilarious! They fit in well with Mike and Sully and the others! Yeah, I also noticed that the orange fur is form associated! It's pretty cool that forms affect even transformed versions of Sora in terms of appearance! And you know, I actually really like Riku's new Keyblade!
The Transcendent Key repliedIn general, I've loved how the Keyblades have been looking in recent trailers. They definitely make Keyblade Transformations look like a lot of fun to activate! Ooh, and Void Gear...it's one of my favorite Keyblades! As for E3, I'm sure we'll get at least one or two world reveals, more gameplay footage, story bits and hopefully, a concrete release month! Here's hoping for July 13th or September!
Merilly repliedThey just need to practice a bit more moderation. It seems like they're getting the hang of the engine more and more but they still tend to overdo it a little or try to improve things which don't really need improving and neglect other, more dire issues. But it's still going well, regardless. But it's no wonder they have a whole team, considering that there'll be more NPCs too and a whole bunch of characters coming together.
Merilly repliedI don't particularly like Riku's Keyblade because it looks a lot like a car key and is rather dull. A lot of Keyblades represent a character's personality hut this one looks just dull and doesn't really do him justice. If it had looked more like KHUX's Fenrir it would hage been more agreeable. But that's only an opinion. Void Gear is my favorite Keyblade and I just think it's a bit too large and the handle is rather broad. It's not as delicate anymore.
Merilly repliedI don't think July is very likely and for once that isn't my pessimism but rather me being realistic. Nomura just said that the first part is 90% complete, the middle 60-70% and the last doesn't even have a percentage which makes me think it's even less. That means they still have a lot of work to do on top of the fine tuning for models, colors, etc. I'd rather wait a bit longer and have a complete experience than them rushing so much to meet July.
Merilly repliedIt's not out of the question of course since we do not know how long the last few percent take but if we think about equal percentage and put that into the last 3 1/2 years of development, that would be a lot of work to do in 5 months. It even made me think 2018 is very optimistic if the game should be as perfect as possible and not incomplete/loaded with bugs.
The Transcendent Key repliedYeah, I guess you're right. Then September or November would be more realistic when it comes to a release month! That way, Nomura and his team can be able to fine tune everything and make the final adjustments before release! But yeah, I'm sure the team will improve in the remaining months, and it'll end up in KHIII being the most beautiful game out there!
The Transcendent Key repliedAnd well hey, who knows? Riku's new Keyblade could just be a base form, just like how Soul Eater was the base form for Way To Dawn, ya know? And about Void Gear, it does look beefed up! Maybe it's because of the lighting and the textures, ya know?
Merilly repliedThat could very likely be. I feel like the tone has also changed a little. Of course I want it to remain overall positive, but I also appreciate them setting the mood for an actual war/ final battle. In that regard, KH3 will likely be a bit different to the other games. But I still enjoy the fact that they managed to keep some funny moments in and still give Sora the chance to be himself.
Merilly repliedIt would be good if that were the case. I qouldn't hate the game if the Keyblade stayed the way it is because it's only a small thing I dislike, but I had expected something a little more intricate, considering how his weapons were before that. He also has gone through quite a bit of transformation so him having such a simple one with no connection to any of that wonders me a little. But you're right it could be the lighting/textures for Void Gear.
The Transcendent Key repliedYeah, considering that this is a final act for an entire saga, one can expect a much darker turn of events. As such, while the game will have lighthearted moments, I sense it will be the darkest entry in the series as of yet! I'm very much looking forward to seeing how the twists just up and surprise us! Gahhh, the hype is real! And I think we'll see some surprises from Sora as well!
The Transcendent Key repliedSomething that also comes to mind when looking at Riku's new Keyblade is the fact that, if you noticed his new Bring Arts, his new Keyblade has a Mickey keychain at the end of it, so that could indicate that this Keyblade we are seeing is in fact the remaining Kingdom Key that rounds out the three types! The Kingdom Key of light for Sora, the Kingdom Key of Darkness for Mickey, and the Kingdom Key of the IN-Between for Riku!
The Transcendent Key repliedAt least, that's what I think, since the only known Keyblades to have the Mickey keychain are the two Kingdom Keys Sora and Mickey wield, and apparently, Riku's new Keyblade will be the third in the series to have that unique feature!
Merilly repliedI do expect it to be the darksst entry yet but I also hope that it won't become too tragic. Something that always amazed me with KH waa that there was always that sliver of hope remaining. That even characters who met their end had the hope of returning. I don't want any needless permanent sacrifices just to create solemn moments for the sake of atmosphere. If it's necessary, okay, but not just to let someone suffer.
The Transcendent Key repliedYeah, I get what you're saying. I'm sure Nomura will find the right balance.
Merilly repliedAs for twists, I do hope that there will be some but not too many. There are a lot of loose ends to tie and having too many twists could make that either impossible or feel too rushed. And I don't want to question the entire series due to a last minute revelation.
But I think Nomura knows that too many twists could be harmful and will have just the right amount. The Transcendent Key repliedYeah, I get what you mean. I'm sure Nomura will know how to balance any new twists he comes up with! And I'm sure all loose ends will be tied up, so that's something reassuring! As for Riku, well, maybe the Kingdom Key of the In-Between is meant to be different in appearance as opposed to Sora and Mickey's almost identical looking Kingdom Keys, ya know?

Seems like Ansem is recording for KH3.
Merilly repliedIt wouldn't be surprising if this was indeed true, considering the game is supposed to come out this year. At this point, most things should at least be in a state where they don't have to make it from scrap. Of course adjustments will be made, but important factors for voice acting should be done. Thanks for sharing.

In life, you traverse through one path, but in reality, you weave countless others! Learn to navigate through all of them and find the flow you want your path to take you!

Anyone here watching AGDQ?
Merilly repliedIt's also a dicferent perspective on speedrunning since most players do it silently without explaining anything. Which is to be expected since they mostly need to concentrate but sometimes there are such insane tricks that I'm grateful for the explanations. And the atmosphere is really nice most of the time.

You know, looking back @ the Jump Festa 2015 trailer for KH3, I've come to the conclusion that you might need to use magic to attack the Marluxia-looking Nobodies when they're in groups.
