Apparently, on KH13, we can make jokes on every day of the year except the day designated for making jokes. If you make a joke on the designated joke day, people will be upset. This is brilliant logic KH13 very enlightening.
Dracozombie repliedIrony isn't the easiest thing to detect over the internet. It may have rubbed some people the wrong way since it wasn't Christianity EXAGGERATED to lulzworthy levels--it was just Christianity itself, used as the joke.

RoxSox repliedThe thread was centered around taking all aspects of who I am and flipping them around to their polar opposite. I use the same avatar all the time? I change it. I write a story? It's cancelled. I'm unreligious? Now I am. The Christianity wasn't a punchline it was part of the bigger picture of the thread's intention. Whether the joke was funny or not, it still seems to have completely gone over peoples heads and somehow I'm being a dick about it.

I also don't get why they're saying you're a dick (some of the responses can be taken as far more offensive than what you wrote), but I can kinda see why it wouldn't sit well for some people.
RoxSox repliedI would think the irony is implied considering it was a thread made by me, who is rarely serious, on April fools, that outright goes against everything I've ever claimed to be. I think April Fools is the one day where the "text doesn't carry your intentions well" excuse is entirely void.

Dracozombie repliedImplied irony might as well be nonexistent irony. Sad, but it happens way too often for me to not see it's a thing. As for them calling you a dick, it might be because when people are offended by a joke, the last thing they wanna hear is a justification for why they shouldn't be offended (not that they SHOULD gang up on you, but still).
RoxSox repliedI can't dictate what people get offended by. I can however get frustrated when something that was by no means meant to offend is used as justification for hoping I leave and for being called a dick. Especially when it's April firetrucking fools and the entire point of this day is to be able to say something and have no one take it seriously.
Dracozombie repliedUnfortunately, they have just as much right to express their own frustration for getting offended. I'm also pretty sure that comment about how you should leave was also a joke (then again, I'm not the one it was directed towards...). But I do think everyone blew this out of proportion, and everyone involved should just let it drop by this point. No need to create bad blood.
