FF9 doesnt get the credit it deserves. 7, 8 and 10 don't even come close to how amazing it is.
MyDixieRect repliedI want every copy of Final Fantasy X to be burned in a fire and the ashes fed to hobos, and the poop formed to be eaten by flies, to be eaten by frogs, to be eaten by frog-eating crocodiles to be chopped up and fed to the first born child of everyone who had anything to do with that damn game.
MyDixieRect replied@Jim: Ah, to be young and naive. How I long for those blissful days again.
@Megaman: It's necessary
The fact they chose to insult me further by giving that game a sequel then re-releasing that game and its sequel in HD while leaving FFIX in the dust all these years just makes the hatred grow.MyDixieRect repliedYou mean it WAS fun until they made it so you had to waste turns switching characters for more useless ones just to keep everyone on similar levels or APs or whatever and before it got insanely repetitive with so many pallete swaps enemies, it doesn't help that the game literally ridicules you for trying out new strategies at points and we must not forget the cheesing that bosses do. Use all the haste you want you better damn well be overleveled with everyone having cast Haste or they...
MyDixieRect repliedwill roast your ass with way too many turns. No even if you do have Haste what good does it do against muh'firetrucking Seymour or Yunalesca. And lets not forget the stupid sphere grid. Let's just ruin everybody's sense of individuality as we progress the game. No Auron put that Katana away, Wakka's ball just might be much more powerful.
MyDixieRect repliedBut it's ok, at least everyone has different weapons with different abilities. Too bad you'll need to play stupid minigames like dodge lightning 200 freakin times to get the good ones. Oh and firetruck Rikku. Why? Cause. Can't do hit for crap and have to waste my damn items on a trial and error mixing attack. There's good trial and error (Cait Sith) and there's that
MyDixieRect replied@Rox: I'm afraid to answer your question my good friend, my answer simply couldn't fit into one, or even 10 of these messages. I shall post a review of X perhaps later tonight or tomorrow if you want to know.

8 and a half fu*king hours later and I have now actually seen the entirety of Final Fantasy XIII's story... I find that the first act of the story, i.e. the part of the game I never got past is definitely the weakest portion of the game... the second and third acts are quite excellent actually. It truly is the gameplay and linear level design of the game that makes it so hard to play, because the story is quite nice.
RoxSox repliedAlso, I found that the characters I found to be so insufferable become much more tolerable as the story progresses... by the end, I actually gave a damn about them and their plight... dare I say I even sort of like Snow, who before I thought was an absolute prick. (The best character in the game is still the baby Chocobo in Sazh's hair/fact)
RoxSox repliedActually the reason I even watched it all in the first place was to prepare myself for starting XIII-2, Jimmy-boy. I found that the briefing the game gives you just didn't quite give me all the information I needed to go into the sequel, so, I bit the bullet and watched it alllll. And surprisingly found it to be worth my time. Hopefully the gameplay of 2 will be tolerable...
Jim repliedI very strongly disagree with 96 on this. XIII-2 is, in many ways, a great improvement over XIII. I really enjoyed it, and I thought the main antagonist was one of the best antagonists I've seen in FF in a while. Once you get past the goofy time travel premise, it's actually a lot of fun. And those minigames are fun, and they make you think. Not to mention it has an awesome final boss gauntlet.

BlackAceZero777 repliedI looked him up....He kinda reminds me of the guy who plays as Riddick...
