 Because it's a hoodie with ears? What's wrong with that? Personally, I get a very cool tomboyish/mage fantasy feel from it, and I think it also looks cool and badass while also being cute.It's a mostly japanese game series, the characters wear clothes with inspiration most likely taken from Japanese street fashion.

 

We saw it on the  3rd aniversary chi card, and it's on my profile picture. I understand that it's the OP's opinion, but it honestly baffles me that they can get that from it.

Um.... I wouldn't say it's babyish. It draws out the "cuteness" of ladies wear.

Well this topic is in the KH3 section so it confused me haha well I guess it's possible that it could be her new outfit for KH3

Yup^. Besides, in terms of looks and aesthetics, Kingdom Hearts ain't exactly the most serious. Plus despite not seeing everything, I also like Kairi's outfit. She looks fun, childish, and cutesy like Sora. We need a female protagonist like that in this game.

I hope its not her new outfit, still hoping for some purple/white.

...n-not really? No, it's fine really. I doubt it's her actual new outfit, but it's still okay really.

 

I don't even like Kairi so it's not much of a concern to me but, come on, an outfit won't ruin the games atmosphere...I mean, this game does have King Mickey Mouse in it along with Donald Freaking Duck being his Archmage and Goofy his Captain of the Royal Guards...and yet still be taken seriously.

the outfits are  only a tease of what we going to get in decemeber for our full reveal

Um, we haven't even seen the whole thing, so far it looks very similar to her KH2 outfit, only with an eared hood added to it. Hoods with ears are awesome, and it suits her very well. Plus it really matches how most teens and 20-somethings dress nowadays. How exactly is that "babyish"?

I think the impression that it's her KH3 outfit comes from it appearing on the KHx 3rd Anniversary card alongside KH3 Sora and possibly KH3 Riku. The past two Anniversary cards showed the versions of the characters corresponding with the anniversary. 1st Anniversary card had the KH1 versions of Sora Riku and Kairi, the 2nd Anniversary card had KH2 Sora and Kairi, their outfits being switched with Roxas and Namine's, and now the 3rd Anniversary card possibly has the KH3 versions of Sora Riku and Kairi, with added Ephemer Skuld and Ven.

 

Also, we haven't seen the full outfit yet. All we actually know is that it IS different from Kairi's KH2 outfit. It's just that it's heavily obscured aside from the hood.

The only differences I see here are black edges and the hood that we never got a clear view of in KHII. They look really similar though.

Looks like her KH2 outfit to me. Blouse, necklace, everything.

I did an analysis of it a while back, it's hard to see but the white part is a shirt thingy I think, it has a pink line and it has less showing, it's like an oval connecting to the hood, and her necklace seems connected to the hood too, like she removed the string and sewed it on(Or more like the fairies did that with magic). 

 

She's next to KH3 Sora, and Riku is in a new outfit too, so I find it pretty likely it is her new outfit. Each anniversary backs up that theory, with 1 of them in KH1 attire, 2 of them in KH2 attire but swapped with their nobodies, but fair enough, not everyone is gonna like it, since we all have different tastes : P.

 

Kairi has always had an element of black in her outfits, and I really think it suits her strong-willed, tomboyish nature. I think fans have been bombarded with so many kh1-like fan designs they had a preconceived idea it would similar, even though none of us actually know the real Kairi yet, only Nomura knows.

I can't complain about the outfit, it looks great to me. The colors perfectly fit her character, pink, purple and white. And to me it looks even less babyish, because...well I hate to be that person to point it out, but... cleavage. I'd rather the characters be in these casual clothes then armor, or Terra's outfit.

Honestly, I think Kairi's new outfit is pretty darn badass!  And we haven't even gotten a full reveal yet!  But from what could be seen in X's 3rd Anniversary Key Art, the outfit suits her well!

I think she looks better, and I'm glad it had her KH II clothing elements on there. 

 

The only thing I still can't get over with is the short hair, although this applies more to Riku (and maybe Sora). It still hasn't grown on me for the former ironically.

What logical reason would there be to reveal something as significant as a new outfit in a minor promotion for a side game? It would make far more sense to do it in a new trailer or in a major magazine.

the kingdom hearts x 3rd annversity was only teaser reveal which is why they are facing the sideways in the picture the full reveal in picture will be in deceember.
