New cutscenes for HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX on PS4?

Posted

Does anyone think there is any possibility for new cutscenes to be created for the PS4 versions of 1.5 and 2.5?

The main reason I'm asking this is that in the PS3 version of 2.5, particularly Re:Coded, two new cutscenes were created just for the game.

Although unlikely, does anyone see something like this happening again?

I don't think so...They announced them for ps4 just for fan service. I hope that we'll at least get some new cutscenes in Dream Drop Distance.

I don't think so. It seems like they only remade the two remixes for the PS4 and nothing more.

Not gonna happen.  This is the most basic of ports.  Its only new "feature" is 60fps, and that's only because such a thing is practically mandatory for a port on a PS4.

Honestly hoping for bug fixes more than anything

But a Xiro can dream...

That wouldn't make sense, and it's just a port. Why bother adding new scenes?

All because of one line Kairi said.

And i don´t really want new cutscenes i like it just like it´s going to be.

Well I think that Kairi line in the trailer was what she was going to say during the ending of Kingdom Hearts of you remember in the Japanese version of final mix she dose say a line and we never got that in our final mix so they could do that like they could add voices to the silent scenes of final mix but I highly doubt that. I wouldn't mind if they added fights in the Days cinamatic movie like they did with Re:coded but I don't see that happening would be great if they did but that and fixing the load times are the only things I would want

Edit: Also I hope they make it that if they don't transfer the trophies from the PS3 versions of the game that you can get the difficulty trophies for 1.5 with the high playthroughs like if you beat the game on proud it would also unlock the easy and standard mode trophies for both Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Chain of Memories of just have the trophies transfer so you don't have to get them again but if you do I won't complain

nah there's no reason to. the only reason we got new scenes for Re:Coded was because technically it was all new. they didn't exactly go out of their way to include those newer scenes.

at most, maybe we'll get a theme, which i would dig. unlocking a KH theme for each game that plays whichever Dearly Beloved comes with the game the theme is based off of.

Too soon to say really. They just announced these titles, as far as we know they're going to be straight up ports with better frame rate and slightly better graphical quality. But I will say this though, it wouldn't be too far of a stretch for them to do. If they got the time to render and the time to gather any VAs necessary for it, then maybe, but it's not like it would be necessary at this point. Having all that content on just one disk, it might not be that necessary to add any additional extra content. But who knows, they usually add a little extra something with each re-release anyway, so maybe we should keep our eyes peeled in the meantime.

Actually, what WAS with that Kairi line anyway? I never recalled ever coming across that line in the series before, but it still sounded like a young Haden. Maybe it was just a cut take and they accidentally put it in there for the sake of that trailer nostalgia?

That weird Kairi line from the trailer is the only reason I'm not shooting down this possibility.

That Kairi line wasn't weird and it's actually not a new line. That line was said right before Kairi unhooded Riku in The World That Never Was in KH2.

i don't think so. the only thing i could see them possibly doing is having David Gallagher voicing the non-voiced Final Mix exclusive Riku scenes in KH1FM, but i see that having a real low possibility of it happen

We're talking about "don't forget, I have you in my thoughts", in the KH1 part of the trailer. She never said that. It may be the line in the Japanese version that never showed up in the English one (after Kairi and Sora's hands separate in the end of the game, Kairi says something, which was never put in the English version) but I saw someone say yesterday that even in the Japanese trailer the line was new, though of course they could have been wrong.

Wasn't referring to that one. I was talking about the one towards the beginning that sounds almost nothing like Hayden, hence why it's weird.

Personally, I think that new line is due to the VA strike. Hayden may have demanded that Square not reuse her audio files, meaning they'd have to completely re-record Kairi with a different actress.

I doubt there will be any difference at all, but I'd like the KHFM scenes voiced and a friggin' theatre mode for KH It is literally the only game in the series that does't have a theater mode for any version of it. But like I said, not happening.

Ok the line: ¨Don´t Forget... I have you in my thoughts´s¨ history must be adressed. Because that line is really something to talk about.

No, I don't think there'll be new cutscenes, as I believe that this will just be a port of the ReMixes to PS4 and nothing more, ya know? Though you never know! :O

Casual reminder that the FM scenes in 1.5 weren't voiced in English. So it's possible they could have voiced them for this port.

Peace!

All I want is the KHIIFM Drive Form slowdown fixed.

While I definitely wish they would, I don't see it happening. The team behind the restoration of these games for the PS3 did a supremely underwhelming job in my opinion. I think the worst of these is never even bothering to patch the glitches in the game that weren't present in the original. Or even to fix the loading times. They also did almost the bare minimum in their initial restoration. If they won't even put in the effort to patch their own game or put a little more effort into their initial restoration of the games then I don't see them caring enough to add anything additional.

OH, I must not have noticed that one. I just went back and watch the trailer again and heard that line and yeah that line is a bit weird.

All I ask for is a new cutscene to show Roxas and Xion fighting. For the sake of the people who haven't played 358/2 Days.

It's easy to say that in face value, however, there's always been a new Kingdom Hearts release every year since Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. Yes, they did a horrendous job with the various bugs and loading time errors, however, they ported the Final Mix versions of all the games that were Final Mix. And for the Japanese audience, their Final Mixes had the English dub so there was clearly a lot of work for developers and localisers to accomplish.

Plus, this is being released in March anyway. The porting team are in no rush. The assets have already been created, all they literally have to do at this point is clean the textures and fix the bugs. You also have to remember the power difference between the PS3 and PS4. Kingdom Hearts HD: Dream Drop Distance already looks like a step in the right direction already.

I don't know. Like I said the fact that they didn't patch the glitches after its initial release speaks volumes. Do I want there to be improvements? Absolutely. But after being underwhelmed with both releases, I just don't have that much confidence. If they did anything, they'd probably improve the textures and maybe fix the glitches. They wouldn't bother adding anything else. But I think even that's a bit of a stretch. *shrugs* Who knows, maybe I'll be surprised.

At the end of the day, it's all about the most ideal Kingdom Hearts experience when it comes to comparing the original to the remastered versions. Clearly, the bugs on the various were game-breaking enough to not classify the Remasters as the best Kingdom Hearts experience. I suppose the reason as to why there was a lack of a patch in the first place was presumably due to the weird time period that the ReMixes were released at. It was during a transitioning stage from the PS3 to the PS4.

And besides, there is a benefit to not adding anything new, it saves development and asset costs. At this point, Kingdom Hearts III and Unchained X are literally the only two Kingdom Hearts projects that are left once 2.8 is finished. It's better off for Nomura to focus his efforts on those as oppose to more additional content for 1.5 and 2.5.
