Even though I am a Christian, I can agree with you that people on my side are often guilty of making those assumptions that atheists or whatever are instantly terrible people. Heck, one of my absolute best friends is an atheist. Please don't associate those bigoted kinds of 'religious' people with all of religion or Christianity (or me, for that matter xD ).That being said, I always hate when people say that the world would be better off without religion. Yes, some of us can be pretty awful, but that doesn't mean that what we follow is always the problem."I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ." --Gandhi (just thought this applied well to the conversation)

I find that I really like that quote. Kind of illustrates how I feel, actually.

I do too, actually. I take it as a challenge, to show the world that we're not all like that. So basically we both like it, but for different reasons, haha.

Aaron's bro nickname should be "Sexy Bitch" xD

Pewdiepie deserves every last bit of fame he gets. Whether or not you like his humor and "character" (the way he acts in his gameplays is no where close to how he acts in real life) is a different story. Like you said, he's very humble about his success. Other reasons why I like him is that he is very in touch with his fans, plays games that are different and not generic shooters or something, and he makes several videos a day. The guy not only loves what he is doing, but he also works extremely hard at it, even if you don't like him, you got to give him credit for that.

Also a bit about your other opinion

I'm kinda in the middle ground when it comes to pornography. I don't approve of it when the girl is being exploited in some way (abused, degraded, not aware they are being filmed/it will be put online, not being paid/paid properly etc) but I'm fine with it if everything checks out. Honestly sometimes it depends a lot on the studio that made the pornography. I don't like groups that clearly objectify women, but there are studios out there where the women are treated and portrayed very respectfully and beautifully.

What I don't get about PewdiePie is HOW he is THAT famous. I've bothered to watch a few videos of his, and honestly see nothing funny or entertaining about him or what he does. He constantly screams into his mic whilst making annoying voices and bad/immature jokes(not to mention the overuse of the word Bro). I guess it really depends on your sense of humor, but I just don't see it. But I'm not going to say he should stop, because he can do whatever he wants as long as he's having fun.

And chocolate isn't that great, Caramel or Butterscotch on the other hand is fantastic.

I don't like the whole "my X is obviously better than yours" mindset. No matter what X is, be it political views, social views, religious views, or thoughts on which game system is better, I just don't like that mindset. Especially when people use it to mock other people with. Idk, maybe this isn't that unpopular of an opinion...

Well, like Weiss said, if it's a matter of where someone's opinion is oppressive or bigoted, it is wrong and always will be if the basic goal is to deny fundamental rights.

Oh, well yeah, I agree with that. But I was referring more to people who act so high on their horse (about more arguable stuff) that everyone else's opinions on the matter are stupid. Like, for example I've met some extreme atheists who will say that anybody who believes in a higher power has mental issues (And no, I'm not saying all atheists are like that, I was just giving an example). Or like, people who will say "hurr it's a FACT that the XBox is better than the PS3" or vice versa. That's the kind of thing I'm talking about.

I don't think this thread should be called "Unpopular Opinions". It should just be called "Your Opinions". Because not all the opinions ar unpopular, and it should just be a thread to state your thoughts without being typecasted into thinking your thoughts are looked down on by some.

Yeah, I think it's time to face facts.  A lot of us who post in this thread already know it's turned into more of a venting/expression thread, and treat it as such.  Some posts here can be legitimately unpopular, but that's just a subset of venting and expression.

the society in the book the giver is really really stupid and unfair to the civilians becouse it takes away all freedom.

"420 blaze it yolo swag lol" I seriously think people don't realize that they are only prolonging the ignorance when they joke like that. It's not a joke if you haven't smoked pot. You're not funny.

I know nobody cares about Sailor Moon xD

But I'm kinda afraid of the new reboot in 2013

I know I'm kinda turned off by the current anime because it's so filler heavy (especially season 1)

But at the same time the filler could be really charming, and since the reboot will be more faithful to the manga I guess there won't be much (if any)

My biggest issue is that I don't want it to be an exact re-telling of the manga

because what I really liked about the anime, manga, and PGSM live-action was that they played out in their own different continuities.

I post to much in here. Sorry.

Okay hold up. So if somebody said they hate white girls. That's perfectly fine! That would be funny! But if somebody said they hate black girls, it's world war 3.

This is sick and I'm gettin tired of it.

Just cause a girl is white does not mean you have the god damn right to make fun of her.

Just cause a black girl is beating up a white girl does not mean you have the god damn right to rec it and think it's funny. Like. "OMG WHITE GIRL GETTING BEATIN UP EVEN THO SHE MOST LIKELY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!"

Yeah so funny.

Just cause a white girl like clothes, makeup, etc. Does not mean she's a annoying bitch.

I do not mean to make this sound racist, if it does. I'm so so sorry, just del it if you must. I'm just getting tired of all this hate towards white girls.

When really only a handful of us are annoying and bitchy like everybody says. :/

It's annoys the firetruck out of me how Stephenie Meyer wrote a shitty love story, with no meaning at all. And still is a big hit.

While Sherrilyn Kenyon has wrote over 20 books, each with meaning and heart ace and a lovely story line. Is just NOW getting a movie and a TV show.

It's really annoys me, god damn it people.

Why firetrucking book now a days is the same. Girl falls for jack ass. Jack ass falls for girl. Jack ass breaks girl's heart. Girl forgives Jack ass.

The end.

Or the another way around.

Either way it sucks.

I fail to understand why people always rub Naruto in the wrong way.

Honestly it's a good show I like it yet for some reason when you tell someone you like that show, you immediately get judged in a bad way.

Is it the fandom or what?

Like I can see why you dislike but bashing people who like it is a different thing.

(No im not saying you have to like it, just asking )

Things like that happen in any work that's hyper-popular.  The more people know about something, the more people will love it push it off as the Greatest Thing Ever, and the more people will watch it and find they don't like it, and the more people will hate how it's constantly touted as something awesome when they themselves can't see the appeal.  Remember, people have different opinions on what a good show entails, so not everyone will like the same thing even if you think it's awesome.  Naruto fans who are judged in a bad way are in the same position as members of any fandom that's mainstream.  People bash members of fandoms because people think being a part of [Fandom X] implies [Y], [Y] being something not particularly flattering.  For instance, people who like Twilight are mocked because the implication that anyone who could like such a work advocates unhealthy, abusive relationships as something to be desired, strong, impossibly beautiful men waiting to sweep you off your feet because you're too weak to do anything for yourself, and bland, poorly-constructed prose as an example of true literature.  For Naruto, the implication could be that anyone who likes it is a total geek who has no taste in truly good anime, like [your favorite].

It could be the fandom, definitely. Naruto gave birth to a lot of self-proclaimed otakus and weaboos. And they have a habit of being disrespectful and obnoxious. Especially considering how being a weaboo or an otaku is an assimilation of Japanese culture and language, I'm not surprised why most people dislike Naruto. Not saying it's right to dislike the show itself but it's no surprise either.

I wouldn't judge someone for liking that show, but I personally really don't like it. (Long opinion incoming)

The plot is pretty boring and you already get told right off the bat what's gonna happen "I'm gonna become the greatest ninja ever"... and some Hokage stuff

Not to mention the main character is that cliche food loving, silly but can be determined, regular kid (oh and also all that stuff about how he's special and apparently possesses great power)

Then there's his bland rival  whose motivation is revenge on someone.... and there's Sakura.... I don't recall much about her role aside from being Naruto's love interest.

The whole rest of the cast seem to be down to Earth realistic people, but the mains are so unattractive.

And there's the filler stuff...... And the actual plot itself is kind of poor.

I just personally think it's more hype than substance.

This is more of a musing than an opinion, since I'm not sure what to think.  The general rule for the Random forum is to not take it seriously, which is fine in concept.  It's a place to let loose and post whatever, a place running on sarcasm, irony, general absurdity and fun.  However, it seems odd we need to be constantly reminded of the rule.  "lol it's Random don't take it seriously" and posts of that nature seem to occur more than it should if the general behavior is self-evident.  The fact most of us don't follow it is evident in our self-awareness, with posts regarding the irony of how, yes, a lot of us actually do take Random seriously.  I'm not even sure why the "rule" is in effect since it's been demonstrated time and time again that the fact a post is in Random does not automatically exclude it from criticism and negativity.  Yes, I understand things like ridiculous claims, obviously fake news, and, well, random humor, but that's not what I mean.  I'm talking about things that people have legitimate opinions towards, often strong ones.  A joke that sounds funny to you may not sit well with others, and if it's in Random, a negative reaction to all but the most offensive things (anything political, for instance), is merely dismissed as butthurt.

To solidify my observations, I recently conducted an experiment by creating this thread: http://kh13.com/forum/topic/52569-bronies-need-to-grow-up/

It was in Random, obviously, and says this in regards to fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: "Seriously.  It's a show for little girls.  The men who like this thing need to get out of their basements and get laid, and stop being so creepy."  FYI, I'm a Brony myself, so of course I didn't mean it.  However, I created the thread knowing damn well what would happen.  It being in Random didn't stop people from (rightfully) criticizing the post--only one person didn't, and he may or may not have been playing along.  I'll bet the people who reacted negatively to the thread would, themselves, be criticized for taking something in Random seriously.  Even though there was no reason for why they shouldn't have taken it seriously.  I certainly didn't mean it when I created it, but how was anyone else supposed to know that?  The only way anyone would know I was full of crap is if they knew I'm a Brony, which isn't exactly common knowledge.  Irony and sarcasm fall flat when what's being said is what people out there actually say.  For that thread, I posted generic insults towards Bronies and watched what happened.  If the "don't take it seriously" rule was truly followed, you'd think everyone would have just played along, even the Bronies.  But nope, they reacted just as I expected, and as they should have.

People have strong opinions towards certain things.  Irony and jokes can be difficult to convey over the internet.  A funny joke to you might not sit well with others, and their negative reactions wouldn't necessarily be butthurt.  On the other hand, I do see people making mountains out of molehills in Random.  It's like some people just need to pick a fight, or they can't let something slide.  On the other other hand, even if they overreact (which can admittedly result in some lulz), their criticisms can be valid, especially where anything political is concerned.  Even opinions towards certain characters or games or anything people love/hate can generate strong responses, no matter where it's being posted.  A post being in Random does not automatically mean it shouldn't be taken seriously, or that it's ironic.  A brony-hater could've posted a thread like mine in Random and actually mean it--there's little way of telling I didn't mean it.

I guess what I'm getting at is that maybe the irony of "Heh, wow, we do take Random seriously.  lol" should be less ironic and more something we legitimately take into consideration.  Fun and games is great, which is what Random is all about, but that's not an excuse to say whatever the hell you want, under the assumption everyone will let it slide simply because it's in Random.  I think most of us already do, in the back of our minds, watch our words, but maybe a little more conscious awareness about it would do us some good.  Many of the locked threads I've seen some from Random (the other being Personal, for some understandable reasons), mainly because of people taking the "lol don't take it seriously" rule too far.  I don't frequent Random nearly as much as I used to these days, simply because of the attitude that negative reactions are dismissed out of the butthurt principle.

Or maybe I am just butthurt and there's not really a problem and I just wrote this friggin' long post for no reason.  Who knows?
