So yeah today I was looking around and I saw a thread asking if people who spoiled themselves with KH3D felt any regrets now that it is almost released...

It got me thinking, and I decided to make this poll to make a nice discussion about it...

Do you think spoilers can always take away most of the fun you would have with a game if you hadn't spoiled yourself?

 

I guess it can, but only if the game has an amazing story, like KH, of course... So it depends on the game... And you guys?

I think it can becuase it takes away any surprises that could be in the game and if its a game in a series that you like (like Kingdom Hearts) it probably would because than all of those twist and such will be taken away when you like to experiance yourself when you are playing it, so yes I believe so.

Yes, spoilers always takes the excitement away from me before I play a game. When I play a game where I've already seen spoilers, I quickly become disappointed and think to myself, "I've already seen this and know about this." D: I've tried to stay away from spoilers for DDD, but have failed and now I regret it...

Did with BBS and when I got BBS there wasn't really much to look forward to because I already knew what was going to happen.

I'm not making the same mistake with KH3D.

I don't care... I spoiled myself on the KH3D secret ending and I don't mind it at all. Sure there isn't a surprise factor but the journey you go through during the game itself doesn't change. And even if I saw every cutscene and saw how the game is played I wouldn't have an less thrill of having the game for myself

Hell Yeah! I can't tell you how much I regret watching the entire Japanese walkthrough of BBS before playing the game. 8. Freaking. Months!

tutti frutti. I usually try to avoid spoilers to a majority of the games that I play. Staying spoiler free helps retain the excitement of playing a game over just playing for the gameplay. The emotion, the suspense, the excitement, the tears, etc. Plus I find that it helps to better understand what the character(s) are going through in the game.

Nope. I've spoiled myself many times (ex: KH3D) and when I play the game, I still have tons of fun. Watching stuff on YouTube isn't the same without watching it with my own eyes.

Of course they do! They give away all of the surprise moments and really touching scenes. That's why I avoid them like a hug-happy leper.

Same here, when I finally played it, it turned out to be my favorite KH *-*

and I watched a Let's Play on youtube till the end

 

So I guess it can take some of the fun like, the parts where you should be surprised for something but you aren't cause you knew that was coming already '-'

its hard i just want so see if there anything new going on with khddd like something new thats for pre prdering it and stuff and reviews

Watching is different from playing, but it indeed takes away part of the fun, and the mystery of what happens next. At least for me. Spoiling yourself, especially with a walkthrough was awesome for me (and I had to wait like, a hundred days to play the game) but in the end, I wish I had refrained from watching spoilers.

 

Maybe next time with KH3.

 

And I could be wrong here, but I feel like people who voted on the first option are reassuring themselves that not spoiling the game has kept them from completely ruining it for themselves. While I will say it will probably take away from my own experience, I doubt it will be to an extent where won't enjoy a large amount of the game.

Nope... I kinda hate surprises, so I actually like to spoil myself before I start playing anything lol

If I want to be spoiled, I'll spoil myself and be proud, If I don't want to be spoiled, I'll be pissed and the experience has been ruin unless I can somehow forget what i saw/read.

Unless I intentionally go looking for spoilers, coming across them or letting my curiosity get the better of me just annoys me and I tend to regret it.

yea of course! they give away lots of surprises. but its not like i watch those surprising scenes or stuff.

I despise spoliers. They take away from the feeling of "What is going to happen next?! http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.png " when playing a new game. Plus there would never be any surprises when you are playing the game, and where is the fun in that?

To me it depends on the game. Also it depends on how much you spoil yourself. Even though I have spoiled the plot of KH3D for me it will still be new to me because reading and viewing are two different things. Ive also spoiled the keyblades in the game for me, but Ill still have the same reaction when I get them. Before pokemon diamond came out I spoiled all the pokemon before I got the game, but I wasnt disappointed with them(gen five disappointed me from the first time I saw most of them). For me it depends on the game followed by how much I spoiled it for myself.

in case of KH I'm very sensitive ... I don't like it to be spoiled because I want surprises and not "now this and that will happen"

and this caused that playing BbS completely unspoiled (except Vanitas' face) was a great feeling

When the game came out in japan...I think I had just finished a huge test. So, I was rewarding myself

If it has an amazing history like Kingdom Hearts, i guess it can. I now regret watching all the live streams about the Final Boss battle of DDD some time ago.
