I was hanging out with my cousin when i decided to show him the KH2FM secret BBS ending.

Me:Hey dude wanna see something epic?

Cousin: Sure.

*I pull up the video

Cousin: Oh, Kingdom Hearts? lame.

Me: ??? what, dude just watch it its awesome.

*he watches the video

Cousin: Hmm, this might be the only kingdom hearts game i'm interested in playing.

Me: Mhm.

*Clip at the end of mickey standing with the starseeker keyblade

Cousin: WOW SO DUMB DISNEY RUINS THIS GAME BLAH BLAH BLAH I dont like these games they are for children.

Me: If you can get over the disney stuff, its an awesome game!

Cousin: whatever its still lame.

Me on the outside: ......

Me on the inside: ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SIMPLETON!

 

That was the first time since we were children that I felt even a spark of anger towards my cousin. I acted like i didn't care for the rest of the day, but it still really bugs me. It reminds me that there isn't any people where i live that can love Kingdom Hearts like I do, Which i guess is one of the reasons I love this site. You guys are Awesome!I hate people that are too simple-minded to appreciate the work of art that is, Kingdom Hearts.

 

To tell you the truth, a few years back i always thought KH was stupid B/C it had Disney characters.

Now I don't mind them and i enjoy the GAME http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png

I can sympathize, I wouldn't expect something impressive from Disney, the Key is that KH isn't Disney, it's Square Enix using Disney, and it makes no more sense to assume this game is poor due to its use of Disney characters as a medium than for any other, radio, television, novella, etc.

Honestly, I used to think that a little. Just a little.

 

When I stumbled upon KH, I saw Mickey Mouse and though, "...oh. So it's Disney."

I decided to give this "Kingdom of Hearts" a try and I fell in love with it five minutes into the game.

 

 

 

But I can relate to you. That is almost exactly how it went with my cousin.

Its funny how I'm the only one in my family who loves this game and gets mocked by relatives because its part Disney -__-

I really haven't never had problem with Disney things because I had my childhood with that all disney stuff. .

And you should be able to understand your cousin: If someone told you about fantasy game where Final Fantasy like characters save disney worlds with their keyblades, atleast I would expect something really messy.

How so? Disney makes high quality movies and there is some really good games: Epic Mickey, the most of disney license games on PS1 era..

i try to get my brother into kh but he just wont overlook sum things oh well.

What is everyones problem with Disney? Disney is the firetrucking business sirs.

High quality movies, generally directed towards children, and in my opinion, getting worse. Epic Mickey is an exception, but insufficient grounds to get into what seems to be a sprawling overly complicated plot.

When KH first came out I actually thought it was the dumbest idea ever, I thought mixing the spiky haired anime-esque looking characters with the disney characters was totally dumb and the game would fall flat on its face and fail, obviously I was wrong after I picked up a controller and started playing it.

 

Moral: Maybe your cousin just needs to give KH a chance before making assertions about how lame it is, I mean I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion but, giving KH a chance in my experience was a real opinion changer for me, maybe it works on others too?

It seems that i love this site becasue people on here love Kingdo, Hearts. Honestly i got reaally pissed off when my friends made fun of Kingdom Hearts. Its just soo unfair. Kingdom Hearts is an awesome game one of the most awesome games i have EVER played...

Why does it bug you so much to have your cousin like a video game series? He doesn't like Disney so just move on.

 

Also the video is called "Birth by sleep".

I have the same problem with some of my friends, they just won't look past the diseny part.

I really didn't know how to react to him, they ruined my disney childhood when they started making Princess School and changing their personalities in the house of mouse (The beast on a blind date with Maleficent, just isn't right) so I don't see how having them as your allys and battling your foes would ruin it... If anything it's kept me interested in Disney even though i'm 18

Haha true. I never thought disney ruined anything about KH. Ever since i got it for christmas in 2002 when i was a wee 7 year old i thought it was the best game ever... Then i hated it for 2 years because i couldnt beat chernabog... Then i loved it after i beat the games

I literally grew up with Kingsom Hearts and Disney, so I think there's nothing wrong with it

I got into Kingdom Hearts because I was a long time fan of Final Fantasy, I also thought it was a dumb idea to mix an awesome series like FF with disney, but I bought the first kh on release day, who knew it would turn out to de this successful and I liked a lot, so much that I have every single KH game ever made
