I thought Nomura said that he wanted to give 358/2 analog control. What happened to that?

All of this is very sad news... Why would they not remake 358/2 days aswell?

Because it's easy to get a ps2 game and upscale it.

Maybe because of the double screen. Remember that in some boss battles you see Sora's memories of fighting that Heartless in the bottom screen? This can't be done with just one screen. Although they could have a split screen for those boss battles, but it would be weird as the memory doesn't appear the entire battle, so you would end up having half of the screen with the battle, and alf of the screen empty, unless it's possible to have a full screen changing into a split screen.

Or maybe it's just what Double Ultima said.

If Square planned to only have it released in Japan, the European and American versions probably wouldn't have translated the secret messages hinting at an HD collection. If Square was smart, they probably would've removed it, but then again, maybe they just didn't. I'm kinda confident it'll come to other countries besides Japan though, just my opinion.

Yeh as if they have it announced in DDD.

That's a good point I hand't thought of. It doesn't really make sense that they would hint at the collection in the non-Japanese versions if they didn't plan to release it in other regions

Stop talking about the game not releasing in Europe or North America! Try to make sense. I think it will come to these places because of 3 reasons:

1st - English version of KH 3D did hinted about HD collection in the Secret message.

So what? Do you honestly believe that they not removing the secret message automatically means they plan releasing it worldwide? No, it just means they didn't reomve it in the localization, and that's all. This kind of thing happens some times, but doesn't mean anything.

For example, KH2FM added a cutscene where Xemnas talks to an armor. Then, in the end of BBS, they have a close-up of the armor as a way to say to KH2FM players: "this is the same armor Xemnas was talking with in the other game". Was this removed in localizations? No. In the end of Terra's story, it pretty much shows "so that's what that armor was doing there in KHIIFM". Was this changed in localizations? No, although this one is more of a plot point than a close-up of an armor.

Other examples:

In Pokémon, there's an episode where Satoshi (Ash) catches 30 Kentauros (Tauros), however, this episode was removed from the English version due to scenes involving guns. Where further appearances of satoshi's Kentauros removed? No.

In Digimon, there's a character named Ryou Akiyama. He's the protagonist of his own game series for the WonderSwan, a console released only in Asia, composed of Digimon Adventure: Anode/Cathode Tamer, Digimon Adventure 02: Tag Tamers, Digimon Adventure 02: D-1 Tamers, and Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer. His games were never released outside of Japan with exception of the first game being released in Hong Kong, however, he still made a cameo in Our War Game!, appeared in Ken's flashbacks in an episode of 02, which showed events of Tag Tamers, and was a regular character in Tamers. Was any of this removed in the English dub? No. We just got a situation where the origins of Ken's Dark Seeds/Spores are left unexplained anywhere outside of Japan, as that is only explained in Tag Tamers, Ryou's cameo in Our War Game! (or second part of Digimon: The Movie for American audiences) became a shot of a random person, Ken's flashbacks in 02 show "a random boy" in non-Japanese audiences' eyes, and his character in Tamers became confusing for any non-Japanese audience, as due to being from another universe (Brave Tamer shows him moving universes), he followed different rules, or so I heard, I don't remember this exactly in the show.

Any person who watched Our War Game!, then 02, and then Tamers wouldn't notice he appeared in the former two, but if anyone rewatched them after watching Tamers, they would notice and be onfused about why Ryou is there, especially because Ryou's home universe (the Adventure and 02 universe) is fiction in the Tamers universe, something that the English dub explicitly says even though the Japanese version never mentions in the series (although the timeline in one of the writer's site says). Basically, the lack of Ryou's games outside Japan creates a mess for his character, but nothing about him is removed in the dubbed versions.

I would give other examples...

...if those weren't literally all I know.

2nd - There's trophy system: I Ike collecting trophies on PS3 and so do many other people in many countries other than Japan so why would Square Enix be stupid to not consider this and release the game only for Japan!

"I like collecting trophies" doesn't seem strong enough to make a game be released in other countries.

3rd - There are loads of fans of Kingdom Hearts in both Europe and NA!

Overall I think that this game will eventually come to both Europe and NA and I'm guessing that the release date will be in the summer; probably the same date as Kingdom Hearts 3D released on but hopefully more earlier.

There are fans of Idolm@ster in many places of the world, yet, Bandai-Namco insists to keep the franchise Japan-exclusive.

Look, I don't think the HD ReMIX will be Japan-exclusive, but the fact the Secret Message is intact in international releases isn't a good reason to think they plan a global release.

And their not starting development until FF Versus XIII is released.

There are rumors Versus XIII was cancelled and Square wants it to die quietly. But I just read a post by Uncle Dolan saying that rumor was proven false about a week after he posted about it. I'll search his posts later.

people still complaining about this? You know what I expected us to get at TGS?...NOTHING and instead we are getting 2 games in HD (the FM version of kh 1 no doubt) and the cutscenes all in HD of a third, just chill out there will probably be a 2.5 with KH2FM, BBSFM and the cutscenes from Coded and then we get KH 3.

So what? Do you honestly believe that they not removing the secret message automatically means they plan releasing it worldwide? No, it just means they didn't reomve it in the localization, and that's all. This kind of thing happens some times, but doesn't mean anything.

That wasn't changed in localizations, but it is a cutscene. Also, a close-up can mean many things, and sure, while the most obvious reason would be to show KH2FM players that it was the same armor, it also acts as just a close-up for people who haven't played KH2FM.

But the difference here is, unless Square loves to troll, why would they translate and keep in the secret message, which blatantly says that the next game will be Kingdom Hearts 3 and that we're going to get a HD remaster/remake of some sort? I mean, it's right there, plain and simple. I guess it tries to be cryptic, but anyone with simple deductive reasoning would say that it hints at an HD collection or something.

I won't dwell on your other examples because they aren't really related to Kingdom Hearts, and I definitely also disagree with that one guy who said that just because there are fans in North America and Europe that we'll get it. If that were true, then we would've got Final Mix already. Better late than never with this I guess.

Also, please don't take this the wrong way. I value your opinion just as I hope you value mine, and really, nobody can guarantee that this game will come outside of Japan unless Square makes an announcement or something.

And that PS3 trophies reason... no comment.

As long as we Europeans get the final mix version in english then I'm one happy bunny.

First, the scene with Aqua's Armor didn't need to be cut out because its context isn't invalidated by the U.S. missing KHII FM. It's a subtle nod to those who have the game, while at the same time a vehicle to save Terra.

Second, you cite examples that aren't relevant to this situation. This discussion is regarding whether specific material in the game is indicative of Square's mindset, not about inexplicable non-sequitors in a final product where material has been cut. So far there hasn't been a secret message in a Kingdom Hearts game released in the U.S. that has hinted at a game that wasn't later released in the same region.

I completely agree with everything you just said.

WOOOT time to get a PS3!

I didn't say the scene didn't need to be cut, I'm speaking of a three seconds close-up shot of an armor nodding to a game released only in Japan. The continuity nod only makes sense for Japanese audiences, and yet the scene is untouched in the English version, it's the same thing as having non-sequitors when a material has been cut. The only difference is that it didn't result in an unexplicable contituity error.

The secret message wasn't altered in English, and that's about it. It wasn't cut simply because the localization team didn't see any reason to cut it, this doesn't automatically mean the ReMIX is going to be released outside of Japan, it just means that the localization team didn't see any reason to remove game content, and that's it, nothing more. If this collection gets released outside Japan (and I believe it will), it WON'T be because the Secret Message was not cut.

just saying i know you guys are happy i am two cause ima order it online but there is still no telling if that game well be world wide in release

YESSSSS!!!! HD collection!!

My EXACT thoughts.

"people" like you should chill out instead and remember it's just a video game and we can wish to look forward to whatever we want in terms of gaming content. I'm not really particularly excited for it but it'll be nice to see some additional stuffs from the game selection menu, like artworks and so on and so forth. I'm not angry or disappointed in it. So yeah. Don't get all sensitive about it.

oh wow did I strike a nerve? Just voicing my opinion on it. Your the one who needs to chill out.

Cool. Alright. Let's move along now shall we? I don't like petty arguments.

Not to sound dumb but what is the game about?

I agree! Must start saving!

Common sense predicts there will be a HD 2.5 remix in the future

True or maybe HD 3.0 remix if they are going to add Kingdom Hearts 3D Cutscenes too, but I don't think it will happen.

Of all things, I think that is getting a little bit ahead of the situation, I Personaly just want to wait until the long foretold kh3 comes out, until then, I hope that this rebuttal will get new fans interested in this great franchise

When will America be getting this HD Collection?!

Hah! This is awesome news! Also glad they're adding reaction commands in for the KHI redo. =D

They haven't announced it yet. Let's hope they make a US version!!

HD remake? Seriously? Even if it does come stateside, I probably won't get it. Not even for the console version of 358/2 Days. Sorry, but no thanks. Still waiting on KH3, though.

Why is it that whenever a new KH game comes out, it's always on a console that I don't have? ;_;

ReMix. This might seem viable before kh3ds. Now they're just teasing us.

Damn triple post : /

I'm happy bout this, I mean I only play with my pap to play the KH games on them, now all there needs to be is KH 2 on ps3, I'm excited for this n KH3

I think everyone is glad to know that Days is getting remade and that the final mix version of number one is coming out possibly to other places and kh com being udated again is very nice. I wonder will they include multiplayer online functions for playing uses for Days for the missions or will it be only single player all the way?
