Posted February 11, 201312 yr How much different would the KH series be today if the series started out on Playstation 2, Gamecube, Xbox, and PC? Do you think this would effect it for the greater or for the worse?
February 11, 201312 yr Maybe worse, because I don't think the gamecube had the same graphical capabilities as the Ps2 right? Edit: I now know that the GameCube had better graphics than the Ps2. And that changes my answer. It would probably be better since it could have connectivity with the Gba. And less people would whine about it being on so many different platforms. February 11, 201312 yr Probably for the greater, since more people would've had exposure to the series and therefore a greater demand for the games would exist. (And they'd release 'em faster. )
February 11, 201312 yr Maybe worse, because I don't think the gamecube had the same graphical capabilities as the Ps2 right? You know the Gamecube had better graphical capabilities to the PS2, right? Also a Japanese-produced game for the Xbox. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL But probably nothing would really change, honestly. We would still have releases all over the place.
February 11, 201312 yr Meh. I'm pretty much fine with everything (I'd still have got the game on PS2) except PC, simply 'cause keyboards suck. It would have made the potential audience larger. But would have cost more money to develop each with different controls.

February 11, 201312 yr It is kind of multi-console, but in the worst way it could come. Hey, let's make some games for PS2 and some for DS! - Yeah, bro! That's da way to goooo! And oh, let's make one for the PSP, too! Genius!
February 11, 201312 yr Author Maybe worse, because I don't think the gamecube had the same graphical capabilities as the Ps2 right? The GameCube had a better graphics chip than the PS2.

February 11, 201312 yr If that happened, then at least one of the versions would have sucked. I really don't like multi-platform games because they come out differently based on the team they are assigned to. No, I'm happy with just one console. Please note. ONE CONSOLE! I am not okay with the console jumping.

I was unsure about it, so thank you for answering. SSBM did look pretty good. I'll edit accordingly.
February 11, 201312 yr It would mean more money, but you know,, only one console can have all the goods. Edited February 11, 201312 yr by Master Juan

Do you think this would effect it for the greater or for the worse? Everyone will go ape shit just like what happened with Final Fantasy XIII and Bayonetta 2 Back to topic,I kinda wished that Kingdom Hearts was also on GameCube at the time so everyone will have the chance to play it
February 11, 201312 yr I think it may have become more popular in general, with (obviously) less complaining since it would not confined to one platform. I also think the Xbox platform would have been more popular in Japan.
February 11, 201312 yr I like the way it ended up. It is on multiple platforms, but each game was made for a specific platform. KH 1&2 and RE:COM were made for the PS2, BBS was for the PSP, Days and Re: Coded were on the DS, and DDD was made for the 3DS. If KH were made for Xbox, PS2, Game cube and so on, it would have probably suffered in the quality department a lot and thus have less fans overall.
February 11, 201312 yr Honestly, I think the quality would've dropped. The advantage of making a game for a single console is that it can be the best that it can be, but making something multi-console means that it has to be the best that it can be... and still work on the other consoles, too. Take FFXIII, for example. It was originally PS3 exclusive, but they switched in the 360 about halfway through. Since the two systems have different operating capacities (namely Blu-ray <-> DVD), sacrifices had to be made in the final product. It's a lovely idea, but at the end of the day it's just not practical.
February 11, 201312 yr I would have loved a KH game for the GameCube (mostly so I could play it with a GC controller instead of the PS2 controller)*. If the series was multi-console, I could probably have played BbS, and would possibly be able to get 1.5 as well... Well, I've been a supporter of KH going multi-console about as long as I've been on this site. Personally, I think it would've benefited from it (eg- the series wouldn't have the reputation of making people buy multiple consoles just to fully experience the story). * I don't think my PS2 would have gotten much playtime, though.
February 11, 201312 yr Then they'd get lower sells for the xbox console since that doesn't sell well in Japan however people would stop complaining so I think it's a win.
