Since Kingdom Hearts III won't finish development until around 2016, do you think it will be on PS4 instead?

many discs does not equal a long game.  and considering the storage capacity, that would be insane.

Ps3's fit long games on one discs alone. 4-8 would be crazy long O_O

Kingdom Hearts III on the PlayStation 3 would be a massive mistake in my opinion.Kingdom Hearts III won't begin development until 2014 at the earliest after the PlayStation 4 is released worldwide.By the time it's finished development and production the PlayStation 3's ten year period of support will have ended. The console will be hanging on for dear life. It must be on the PlayStation 4 if it's to have any chance of succeeding.

This is exactly how I was thinking. KH3 on PS4 is very likely. I just hope that after announcing the game on PS4 they don't delay the game like they are doing with FFVXIII

This^ But Nomura wanted to be dumb, and decided to not make the game until after Vs. is finished. He is fighting a lost cause now. If he wasn't working on Vs., he probably could be working on KH III and 2.5 at the same time and they might come out next year, but because he wants Vs finished first, KH 3 is gonna end up on PS4 instead of PS3. He screwed up his original goal of having all KH on PS3, because he wants Vs XIII finished first, so now other KH fanboys are gonna rage when KH 3 goes on PS4 and now SE will probably lose customers.

 

Way to go Nomura, you really screwed everything up. :angry:

The thing here that has me torn is the fact that  the PS4 shall be released this year.  With that being said, my heart lies in the hope that KH3 will come out for the PS3, because, as others have said here, what would be the point of doing rereleases of Kingdom Hearts games for PS3 if KH3 itself wouldn't be for PS3?  And so, I just hope Nomura decides to put KH3 on the PS3.  But, since Versus13 still hasn't finished development, I'm guessing KH3 could probably land on the PS4.  If that's the case, then I'll wait for a PS4 bundle of KH3!

Yes.

Being optimist we can say that Vs will come next year and so the development of KH3 will begin next year too (by this time the PS4 will be functional already) and, being optimist again, it will take 3 years. So if in the most positive of the worlds KH3 will be only ready in 2017 and in that year the PS3 will be pretty much dead so I believe that is safe to assume that KH3 will be on the PS4. Plus I would love to see a full KH with at least the "PS2 CG" graphics, that is the minimum that the PS4 could give to us

Anyyone who has been reading Tetsuya Nomura's interviews, if you recall he stated that he wants to finish the Xehanort saga on this current generation consoles. I am really hoping that it does not get released on PS4. I mean I just bought my PS3 a few months ago. I would hate to have to spend more money for another system. So what do you all think about this?

Just because it could be on ps4 doesn't automatically mean it won't be on ps3 too

Think about it almost every game required you buy a new system it wouldnt be too far fetched and honestly id prefer it id want kh3 to be the best it could be ive waited this long so i hope its on ps4

I think it's too early to guess which console it will be on.

Cross Platform i wouldnt mind it even if it was on ps4. ive waited to hear a little bit of information, so im pretty sure i can wait till i get a ps4 to play it. i mean if anything, square will probably make a special edition bundle like they did for BBS and DDD. So i wouldnt worry to much

It depends on if Square has moved on from old gen(PS3 when PS4 comes out) consoles a certain time after the next gens release. Plus, Square has always worked on the next big title after the new console is released. Certainly debatable.

Because KH3, a game that will take approximately 3 to 5 years to complete once they actually get started can get crammed onto the PS3 when it doesn't even have a year left.

Don't worry. We still have 3 years to go or more til KH 3. That's pretty long haha

I'll be surprised if it takes them more than two. The only reason it took forever for Versus is because the first entire four years of "development" for the game was pretty much trying to finish creating the Crystal Tools engine. Now that they have that completed, and have mastered making a game in that engine for the PS3, at the very most it'll take 3 years from start to reach the US. I doubt it'll even be that long.

Why would you only now get a PS3 when the PS4 comes out soon anyways?

Personally, I think KH3 will be released on PS3 AND PS4! It will serve as the conclusion of the Xehanort saga (and the end of KH on PS3) yet also as the bridge to a new saga (and the beginning of KH on PS4)

 

Here's why:

 

- Nomura said he wants to release a KH game every year. 

--- 2013: KH HD 1.5

--- 2014: (presumably) KH HD 2.5

--- 2015: ???? --> My guess is KH3

 

Now my reasoning for the timeline:

-- Some people think KH X [chi] will be released in 2015 and KH3 in 2016. THAT"S SILLY!! KH X [chi] is already out in beta in Japan and should be out in beta in other countries around the respective releases of KH HD 1.5.

-- Some people think that BBS Vol. 2 will be released in 2015 and KH3 in 2016. Possible, yet Nomura already said they had no intentions of releasing bbs vol. 2 and also that KH3 should come next.

-- 2015 is the last "official" Sony supported year for the PS3 (as of right now). It would not surprise me if they allowed the system to go out with a bang with a game like KH3. 

 

Of course, this is my own personal speculation. It could be right, it's probably wrong! Haha, it just seems reasonable to me. 

I don't care in which console, I just want it as soon as possible -_-

PS4 will become current generation, but then again, it might be for both the PS4 (made by the Tokyo team) and the PS3 (made by the Osaka team).

luckily for you the 3ds has a ridiculous lineup of games. and this year has a ton more coming
