Even with the PS4 being released, THAT DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE GOING TO COMPLETELY SWITCH OVER TO THAT CONSOLE WITH A SNAP OF NOMURA'S FINGERS.

 

Nomura's going through all this trouble of putting all of the Xehanort saga on PS3(through the HD collections) because Nomura said he wanted them all on the current Gen console, which he said before PS4 was released. If he really wanted to have the whole series on PS4, he would've probably waited until the PS4 was released to put 1.5 on there. Besides, how can Nomura just SKIP A WHOLE GENERATION OF PLAYSTATION WHEN THE FIRST 2 TITLES PLUS RE:COM WERE ON PS2. PS3 needs one new title at least.

 

Plus, not alot of people are gonna buy the PS4 for KH3, because most of us are buying a PS3 for the HD collections ALONE. We're not made of money, it would be a bad move for Nomura to just put KH3 on the PS4 and not the PS3.

 

The best move that Nomura can make right now, is just having it created for the PS3, and releasing it on there, but then porting it to the PS4 for those people who already have it(Same thing goes exactly for Vs. XIII).

Exactly. And if Versus finishes development soon then it should be done in a few years. The PS3 is probably going to live a good amount of years. Especially with no backwards compatibility (once again) on the PS4. I can see it being on both and the PS4 version having a few additional features.

That would actually make more sense than just on one console. Make it the Playstation version of Twilight Princess. I actually like this idea, as long as both versions are the same... I don't want the PS4 version to end up being the Final Mix or any crap like that.

I agree, I think if it had to be one though it should be the PS3, to cap off the Xehanort Saga entirely on one console (with the ReMixes all on one and then KH3), and start the next saga on the new generation.

I think it will be on both PS3 and PS4. Especially if it is out by 2015. (my guess with HD 1.5 in 2013, presumably 2.5 in 2014, and KH3 in 2015 to keep Nomura's KH game a year plan) 2015 is the final year of official Sony support for PS3, though other companies have already announced support for current gen through 2016 or 17. Seeing as KH3 is the conclusion of the Xehanort saga, it would make sense to release it on PS3 to conclude the saga. Yet, at the same time, there is sure to be a preview of the next KH saga, and the PS4 would be an excellent platform to kickstart this new saga. 

 

Personally, I really hope it's on both, because I only got a PS3 last year due to the price, and I won't have the money for a PS4 for awhile. yay college...

I agree with everything above and also hope that it arrives for both PS3 and PS4. But I don't know why, but my gut feeling is saying that it will be indeed PS4 alone where Kingdom Hearts 3 will be. I hope I'm wrong but that's just me.  :wacko:

By time KHIII comes out the PS3 would be in the old age so it will be PS4 exclusive.

Remember that KH2 got released on Ps2 almost a Year and a half before the Ps3 came out

 

And since Sony said they would support the Ps3 until 2015 then I assure KH3 will be on Ps3

It's the number one reason I bought a Ps3 beside MGS4,it would be so much expensive if KH3 was for Ps4 because once again KH fans will have to afford the price of yet ANOTHER CONSOLEHANDHELD

Maybe they haven't read the interview. A year or so ago Nomura was talking about it, and he was saying that his focus was this generation of consoles, and it'd take far too long to develop it on PS4 because they're using the Crystal Tools engine for the game, which is for the PS3. Besides, it makes more sense, even without that interview...KH 3...PS3...KH 4...PS4.

He hasn't confirmed it but greatly hinted at it.

I'm thinking about what's going to be next after Kingdom Hearts II, the future that is Kingdom Hearts III. Time has nearly come to [work on] that concept.

 

Yes it might be possible. It is my desire to develop the next Kingdom Hearts on the existing platform, but the problem with a new console is that it has new technical requirements. So, yes, I'm willing to create something on the existing console because when we aim for another non-existing future console, the release of the title will be far in the future. I expect it to be put on the PS4. It will be the most powerful console out there and KH3 is the perfect game to show its potential.

Kingdom Hearts III has not yet begun development. I'm assuming FINAL FANTASY Versus XIII will be released in 2014. Meaning Kingdom Hearts III will begin development in 2014. Why would you develop a major title on an "old" console? They didn't release Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep on the PlayStation 2 for this very reason.  

 

PlayStation 3 support won't end until the end of 2016 at the earliest. However we can't expect Kingdom Hearts III until 2017. Kingdom Hearts III must be released on the PlayStation 4.

First, thanks to the people who have said they liked my opinions.

 

Second, I see how by 2015/2016, it's likely release timeframe, many of you would think KH3 would be on PS4 only, I mean, the PS3 will be done with right? Well like I have said, Sony plans to support PS3 through 2015 at minimum, other companies have already announced support through 2017. Also, Nomura has said he wants to unite the series. He may be somewhat of a troll, but he does realize how fragmenting the series has been bad, one of the primary reasons for the HD collection(s). Why release 2 (presumably) major collections on ps3 only to have the game they lead up ONLY available on another system that the consumer will have to purchase in order to play the game. This defeats the entire purpose of the uniting the series onto a single console. 

 

This is just one more reason I think it will be available on both.

Didn't nomura (Or someone else of the KH team)  said that they want the whole Xehanort Saga to one console.
