The 2DS joins the family of epic failures! The family consists of the Gameboy Micro, Mini Wii, now 2DS. No seriously just get a 3DS and disable 3D.

Well, honestly, I'm kinda glad Nintendo at least TRIED to come up with a new shape of system And, in fact, my younger brother might have a better chance at getting one now, and I REALLY want him to have one when SSB3D comes out

Like at first I was like ok that cool until I saw the model I was like WHAT THE FIRETRUCK. It was like nintendo got drunk or something. So what did you guys think about it (mostly the flaws).

If I recall, didnt Nintendo label their game covers recently with "Only on 3DS" as to not confuse the consumer to buying a 3DS game for the DS. Guess they'll change that then.

 

Also, I guarantee Nintendo's next handheld will be the HDS. lol

Like I said before, eBay or Amazon for used barley touched 3DS's. Not to mention my little brother likes the regular 3DS than that. (And he's 5) 

I don't get why everyone's so pissed off about this. You have your own 3DS, it's not like its affecting you if someone can afford this a lot easier than they can the standard model. And not everyone likes used 3DS' either. My first 3DS was used, and the one sent to me didn't even work, which the seller never told us. You can't always trust used systems. Also, it's easier for kids to use. Telling them not to turn the 3D on might not help. I mean, yeah, parental controls, but this saves the parents time and money. It's not for us older gamers everyone, just let it go. I doubt I'll ever get a 2DS unless I ever go through with the random Nintendo collection idea I had, but I'm not gonna complain. One of my friends that wanted a 3DS just for KH3D can get a cheap 3DS, and he likes the design since it's closer to the PSP in his eyes.

Don't have a problem with this, actually, I think it's a good idea. It's great for little kids seven and under who aren't supposed to use the 3D effect, and the lack of hinges makes the thing virtually un-breakable. Not to mention the lower price point, which will make parents more willing to buy it for their young ones. As well, it has a tablet-esque design, and the mainstream goes crazy for tablets these days.

1This model is for parents,who don't want their children to accidentally turn the 3D on to hurt their eyes,and before you say they can turn it on,the model is for 5 to 8 year old children who probably won't know what a 3D screen is so it's there to to address parental complaining without having to reset parental control everytime they

 

2The reason the Clam like hinge is removed is because so children won't break it,you don't believe me????

 

My 9 year old brother who has his own DS has broke it's hinge the moment it fell down from his hands

 

If the hinge got broken,the whole handheld will follow suit later without a certain design for kids that is safe from getting broken

 

3Yes,you can't fit it in your pocket,but that's not supposed to fit into a 6 year old child's tiny little pocket.This thing was designed to fit in a small carring case or a child's school bag,it's supposed to be held like a toy android

 

4We're not the target audience for this model,we already got our normal and XL model for our own needs,this model is for kids new to video games with a cheap affordable price for parents who don't want their kids to break the clamshell like model of the 3DS or getting their kids accidentally exposed to 3D that would hurt their child's eye,it's supposed to be a budget release for children,not teenagers or adults like me and you

 

5It'll be released on the exact same day as Pokemon X & Y,and we all know that Pokemon,while also targeting older fans of the series,is also marketed toward kids since Day 1 of it's release,a child will probably want to play Pokemon once  heshe is exposed to some episodes of the show and their parents will look for the cheapest,less expensive way to give them this Pokemon experience through a much cheaper model.It's obvious.

Guys,you're not the only people who play video games,nor any of this self-proclaimed "Hardcore" gaming community.There are parents outside the world of the internet who sent Nintendo endless mails complaining about 3D and the lack of a child-friendly model that won't break like a Snicker's chocolate bar.

 

I have a little  9 year old brother as I told you and I had to tell him endless amount of times to turn the 3D off on his 3DS and also I needed to rebuy a DS for him years ago because he broke one.I'm not speaking of my ass,I'm a 24 year old man who has three young brothers to take care of,and if I had a fourth younger brother I would've got the 2DS for him not for me who already bought a 3DS.

 

 

 

With that said,I know a lot of people will ignore all of what I wrote and accuse me of fanboyism and jackassery.But hey it's your opinion and you're free to say whatever you want.

 

I just want you to know,causal markets exist,and they're humans like you and me and not ignorant monkeys like what you think.

 

Those causals make 90% of the video game market,and don't tell me that every single person who bought a Ps3WiiXbox 360 is a hardcore gamer.Anyway,I'm done talking

I don't usually agree with the things you say, Metal Snake, but this time around I applaud you.

You have a good point. If you don't like it, don't buy it. In fact shut up if you just complain about it, it's just something optional. OPTIONAL. Also, if you have a 3DS, I fail to even see how this affects you in any matter. Mention a 3DS, you love or like it, it all depends on your taste in gaming. But any mention of the 2DS, "OH DEAR GOD IT'S AN ABOMINATION". Plus, Darkness said it's for children who are like 4 to 8 or 10, so this at least assures that a child can play something without having his/her eyes hurt.

This makes so much sense. You are ABOSOLUTELY RIGHT. Its for LITTLE KIDS. And thats what matters.

When I saw the 2DS I immediately thought it was stupid, but I got over it and thought about telling my mom that Nintendo is releasing a cheap 3DS. Anyway I just worry that if he drops the screen will crack...

Fool. I didn't really want to call you a moron, but if I have permission... Moron. I personally wish this was available before I got my 3ds. I only got one to play KH. Of course, I got mine for cheaper than what the 2ds is going to be, so I guess it doesn't matter.Maybe instead of removing the hinge because it's oh so fragile, they could make the hinge sturdier.

I think the worst part is, people actually got "angry" about it. Completely stupid and petty. Its a new design that doesnt have 3D and is cheaper, and looks very suitable for kids. But whats there to complain about? Like seriously.

Agreed. Well said. Couldnt have said it better myself. Some people just want to be mad about something and pretend to be "offended" when in reality, it's just not aimed for them. Good to see that there are people who can think for themselves, and not board the hate train.

I don't care about it. I don't have younger siblings. So I just ignore it. Easy.
