People die and come back to life all the time. What do they do when they're dead? Do they just see darkness? Do they go somewhere? I want to answer this question some day.I was reading an article that someone wrote, claiming to have died and come back, listing everything they saw. He said that he saw his guardian spirit, helping him cross over. The Guardian spirit told him that past lives are real, and each time around, we learn how to be a better person through various experiences. Soul mates are real, and we don't always meet that other meant for us. Our family isn't always our soul family, etc. They also said that Earth was the darkest corner of the world, best for forming our better selves.Another article says that they watched what happened to them, watching doctors work on them, priests praying over them, etc. before seeing a guardian spirit, and the same steps from above. What do YOU think happens?Have any of YOU died and came back? What did you see?

I believe in God and Heaven and Hell but only that God decides and judges . None of us here have a right to say where anyone goes, only God . This is my personal belief.

  • Nothing. My body will cease to function, and whatever made up my consciousness will be gone. I'll be dust, and that's all there is to it.

I believe that when you die, you get reborn as a new baby, and go through yet another life, with an endless cycle. It just seems right to me.

*glances over at the quantity of books on my shelf*

I have been studying that for sometime now. Yes, I am CMBC, but I study all religions, the theories behind atheists, and countless rituals. So, to my answer it is a simple.

That actually kinda sounds scary if you think about it. Your death is just a frickin' worm hole.

Full of different experiences every time, both bad and good.

I saw a documentary about this. They say that they saw someone they love, like their wife or parents and then they said they saw themselves flying above clouds for a moment then this big white light comes in and they see little flashes of gold, then they all said just as someone else started to come into view, they were revived.

well it all depends on your views of death, which, for most people, is based off their religious beliefs. Even though i am a christian and i do know about the whole concept of heaven and hell, i'm not really sure that it will happen the way the bible says it will since i've never heard it from someone who actually experienced it.

So, I don't know but I'll find out when the time comes~

I just hope that wherever we go, we're happy, or we could go to the place we would prefer as our heaven. Honestly, the whole reincarnation thing and coming back sounds like a bummer, unless what you wanted when you died was to be reborn with people you love? Like in ReBirthday by Len Kagamine. I asked for that once, but then I took it back.

Personally I think that's just it. You're dead and there's nothing left.

As for the people who claim to see Heaven and stuff, there are many conflicting studies on whether or not it's possible it's real or whether it's their subconscious. I don't really have an opinion there, because I don't know enough about the science to form one. But it's probably just their subconscious--what they expect to happen comes to life like a dream.

It all depends on your belief. I believe that there is a heaven, whether that is a holy congregation of spirits, or the final resting place of our souls.

When I die, my brain and body functions will progressively break down until I am nothing more than a mass of flesh and useless organs.  From then on, the options for my cadaver are:

Option #1: Cremation.  My will will have requested my loved ones to do so, and my remains will then be used to fertilize a redwood tree so that I may look down upon everyone who mocked my height during life, and will continue to do so long after they die, at least until I get chopped down by lumberjacks or beavers with something to prove.  Said tree will be used to filter oxygen thanks to the sustenance of my remains, which will allow other creatures to continue living through my plentiful (and tall) oxygen.  If not, then

Option #2: Donation of my cadaver to science in the hopes I will be used to cure cancer or something.  Unless the interns at whatever facility I'm used at screw up the experiment and all that's left is a corpse, but they'll hopefully at least learn something in the process so it won't happen again to another selfless cadaver.

Either way, my death will come in handy somehow.

Is it just me or you've changed your views on this a lot? :O

To be honest, when I think with my head, it only makes sense that when you die you just die. But I've gone through a few experiences that have made me believe in exactly things you mentioned on the first post: Guardians, soulmates, etc. In fact, you could kind of say I have had direct contact with my belief in these things whether subconciously or not.

I say it's either of the two. I'm obviously agnostic so I don't feel too pressured to make my mind up on one thing. Let's just see where this takes me.

I can't really believe that you're just dead. I mean, do you remember not being here? Exactly. If that were true, then people shouldn't remember dying either, but... I don't know.

But that's just it! If you don't remember anything at all from before, then doesn't that make you a completely different person, either way?

There is no way to trace to a person's previous life, considering they have one. Each person is considered a different human being because they each have a different biological body.

A body is able to work for various reasons, and none of them are confirmed to be a soul or something of the sort. To me, when a body dies, it decomposes and its atoms pass on to form other bodies. But I don't think it is logical to consider that you are the continuation of someone else's journey in a spiritual sense.

Then again, I'd love to one day be wrong. There's nothing more fascinating than things related to spirits and supernatural to me.

You just revived (no pun intended) my faith in the internet.

Well, I'm not just talking about other lives. Lets go under assumption that there is no other lives. You still don't remember NOT being alive, so you shouldn't remember being dead either.

Something that we have yet to discover and probably will never find out. Only speculations and theories can be made based one the faith and beliefs one holds dear in their heart. As for me, I have no clue. I'll find out when I get there.

But that's a whole big philosophical debate probably not meant for here. xD

"Do you remember not being here?" No, you don't, because there was nothing to remember before you concieved, and that same nothingness is what you revert to when you're dead.

I'm not actually really referring to anything you said Admiral, I was just using that one thing as an example to put my perspective on it into... well perspective.

T'is we don't know. Anything can happen, and it's a scary thing to think about. For all we know we can be nothing after death.

The idea of going to heaven after I die is very entertaining, but I've started to believe that less and less. The heaven I want is full of sin, so I'd probably be sent to Hell. But indulging in sin would make me happy, and I don't think that's the point. Most days I think once I die that is it, nothing else. And I'm fine with that, I wouldn't know any different anyway if I die and that's what happens.

But can you really imagine not being here? I mean, it's a weird thought. Like, just emptiness?
