I'm going to buy a copy, so yes

Just because you buy a copy of the game doesn't mean you can assume it will succeed. The game needs to sell a million units in order to become successful. Or at least somewhere close to that number.

I hope so. The fact that XV is looking back at the older FF titles (1-9) for inspiration in itself should get it plenty of sales.

I have been waiting for well over 6 years. I was sold on the 1st trailer and I have been using Google E-mail to notify me if any one so much as mentions the game online so I can get the full story on it all. I will pre-order it the moment it becomes available and I will annoy everyone on this site about how awesome it is the moment its release is around.

sorry im ranting here. my answer is yes.

It's too soon to tell. I will say this though. If it does succeed, it will probably cause a divide in the Final Fantasy fan base, much like FF7 did, because of how different it's likely going to be from what fans are used to. I mean, it is the first numbered FF game that isn't turn based or an MMO, after all.

I hope it's successful, but I'm nervous- I don't know if Square can make this game seriously live up to its expectations. The bar may just be set too high.

It doesn't matter how good the game is, just how much it sells. The key thing here is advertisement. As long as they get that down good it should be a success.

Only a million? Lol. No. Square Enix want & need it to be their highest selling game of all time. Their recent games like Tomb Raider, Hitman, Sleeping Dogs etc all sold well but none reached their expectations.

yes it will be because it's literally taken 8 years to make it so it really doesn't have a choice not to be >:c but all jokes aside i really do think it will be a success because it looks extremely good and detailed from what i've seen so far, and from the little story segments they've shown in trailers it seems like that'll be interesting as well. but yeah, im not really worried about the advertising because they really don't have a choice to not hype this game up as much as possible when they're in the finishing stages of it, they really can't afford to have it flop :s

They shouldn't release too much information, but a new trailer at e3 would be cool (with all new content, not just the same stuff). I have faith that it will succeed.

Yeah Square needs to give the fans some information every once and a while. And not just every few years. Because I'm not as hyped for the game as I was a few years back. But if they giveus more info often tgen that will change.

For their sake, I think it needs to be a success.

Personally, I like the direction they're going with the combat system (being that I hate ATB), and I would be more willing to try out FF again if it had battles similar to XV (which will only happen if it's a success).

They HAVE...not should.....THEY HAVE TO MAKE THIS GAME A SUCCESS!!!

The fate of the entire company depends on this game...I'm not joking

If this game fails, say goodbye to Square Enix,Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts

If the game turned out to be bad, they won't have enough money to fund any future project or even pay Disney for the license to use their properties in the KH games as ever since they got Marvel Disney's license's price has gone really high and If Square can't pay Disney for that, say goodbye forever to our favorite series

Toriyama, just stop.....stop the shit you're making that you think is a masterpiece

Nobody wants more of Lightning, nobody wants more of Tidus, nobody wants the garbage sequels that you force on us and will condemn the entire company as a result and for what?? So Lightning can look more beautiful??She became a whore barbie instead of being the badass chick that she was

The key to Square Enix's survival is to stop Toriyama from messing with FF and appoint him at any other IP that won't impact the company even if he shitted on that said IP

Honestly it is too early to tell, XIII was blessed to be the best FF game ever but once it came out half the fanbase hated it (personally I liked it). Only time will tell.

XIII was the fastest selling title in the series' history and it spurred two sequels. I think that's a success.

FFXIII made a lot of fans angry for a while. FFXV might fail, not in terms of how much it sells since it is hyped like FFXIII, but in terms of the fans reaction. Lets just hope that doesn't happen, even if I liked FFXIII anyways.

I loved XIII.

unfortunately one of those sequels was crap I have no idea about the other one and personally I don't think those sequels should have excised but I digress

back to the main thread here I feel that this will be a well selling game because so many people have been waiting for it (me included) and yes me as well as I'm sure with everyone else who have been waiting for this game are not happy that it has taken so long for this game to come out and we just got some news about it at E3 and hopefully we will get more news soon before E3.  From what I have seen from it so far I'm actually really more excited about this game but I guess time will tell when this game comes out on what will happen.

XIII only had 2 sequels because Square wanted to milk the XIII series. And both games didn't sell as well as the original XIII did.

Well XIII-2's story was shocking, that's why.

I lost all hope in the main franchise anyway, so if it is successful, that'd just be a pleasant surprise that would get Square more money to make KH games. If it sucks sales-wise, I won't be surprised. I'm sure a lot of FF fans are pissed that it isn't turn-based, anyway.

I definitely feel like it will be. The trailers look absolutely amazing and they're taking an extremely large amount of time. I have a lot of confidence that this will be one of the best, if not THE best Final Fantasy game made. But I suppose we'll have to wait and see. Surprises happen.

The fact that hundreds of thousands who never liked FF are hyped for XV (I include myself as one of those people), then yes, I believe it will be a major success, groundbreaking, even. I believe XV is the next VII.
