Do you use walkthroughs for games?

Posted

If you get stuck when playing a game, do you look up a walkthrough, or do you insist upon solving the puzzle yourself?

    • Yes, if I'm stuck in a game I immediately look up a walkthrough.

    • Never. I will always play it until I solve the problem on my own.

    • I only look up the answers if I've been stuck for a long time or if I know I'll never solve it on my own.

Pffft... this is embarrassing. but yes, i do, in Final Fantasy 7 and 8 somtimes. and other final fantasies

Mainly for item/treasure chest locations- like in games similar to Final Fantasy XIII where you can't backtrack to get the chests you missed earlier after certain points

Usually just for Final Fantasy games.

Nah not really, I don't watch walkthroughs unless I'm looking for a certain item within the game.

Not normally, though sometimes I buy official walkthroughs for my favorite games just to look through them, or use some of the 'official' strats when I'm re-playing.

Rarely. Usually just for closure, not really for help in general.

Nope.

Yeah ,sometimes when I get seriously stuck at a point of the game , I look up the walkthrough .

I usually figure it out on my own, but sometimes there's certain parts of games where I have absolutely no idea where I'm going and I am stuck there for a week before I look up where to go next.

Oh yes. I'm not the best gamer in the world, so if I get stuck, I do look at walkthroughs. They help loads.

I'll only do it if absolutely necessary.

I don't play very many games, but the ones I do play aren't very difficult to begin with.

I had to look at the maps a couple times in the official KH3D guide just to figure out where to go sometimes, since la cite des cloches was pretty damn vast. But that's about it.

Right now I mainly play 3DS games, and most of them are easy so walkthroughs aren't needed.

Never on my first playthrough (Brothers is an exception... >.>).  After that, I use a guide to find all collectibles.

Only for games that are heavy on missables. I. HATE. MISSABLES. Mostly final fantasy games, especially the earlier ones.

Yes, I usually look towards a walkthrough, a strategy guide, or a friend to help me out in tough parts. I played the entire FFXIII game relying on the advice of my best friend and some guy's let's play on youtube. That game probably would have taken forever if I had done otherwise.

I only did it for metroid fusion and zero mission other then that i try not to

If I've been stuck for hours and am honestly getting absolutely no where I would look it up to avoid wasting even more time.  Or if I've gone through it but am missing treasure chests/collectables I'll look up the locations.

For items or if I can't get past a certain part in the game after trying for a long time.

With the Wii U, I can look up a walkthrough right in the middle of playing. I've used it several times when I've been stuck.

For entertainment

Sometimes because I can't get the game!

Most of the time it's for extras and RPG games Like KH and FF : /

Yep. Mostly for "Zelda" titles.

- If I get stuck in a specific part of a game

- To hear commentaries (SGB and BSC :D)

- When I want to eat something
