If you don't care about something at all, which one do you use? There was an argument today about it and i want to hear which one you guys use.

I could care less

I couldn't care less 

" I couldn't care less" bc the other implies that you really could care less.

I couldn't care less. I literally care so little, I can't care any lesser than that

 

The other ones more like "I see your point, I don't really care, but I won't care less than I already do even though I could, so potentially, I care at least a little?"

I couldn't care less.

 

I could care less means you actually have some semblance of caring in you.

"I couldn't care less." implies that it isn't possible for you to care about something any less than you already do, meaning that you dislike it/don't care for it. So yeah, that one.

I use them interchangeably, they mean the same thing to me.

Fool. You could be the most caring person in the world and still say you could care less. In couldn't care less, there is absolutely no care.

Could = able

Couldn't = unable

 

Could care less = I am able to care less than I do now i.e. I have not hit rock bottom in my ability to care.

Couldn't care less = I am unable to care less than I do now i.e. I have hit rock bottom in my ability to care.

I guess it's just one of those things that either way you say it people know you don't care.  Being correct, now that's a different story.

On topic (Sorry! I had to!): I use both of them whenever i want to.

I could care less about it.

 

But I couldn't care less about caring less about it.

 

And I could care less about not caring less about caring less about it.

 

I'M CONFUSED
