Posted June 11, 201411 yr Do you think Square will bring Dream Drop Distance to Playstation 3 or Xbox one in 2015? New never before seen Dream Eaters! More realistic textures because I think some of the game was rushed. Then that will leave Kingdom Hearts 3 to be released sometime in 2016. That gives the team time to make the game! June 11, 201411 yr Nope, not happening. And Square Enix aren't doing new releases on PlayStation 3 anymore, just HD remasters of old games.
June 11, 201411 yr Was mentioned a while ago no new games("side" games) until KH3, and the remix's don't count as new since they're just remasters. Also DDD in my opinion would be more suitably remastered for the Wii U.
June 11, 201411 yr Maybe after Kingdom 3 it's a possibility, but not before Kingdom Hearts 3 Final Mix. My question is will Kh3 FM come to America?
June 11, 201411 yr I doubt there will be a final mix version. I do think an HD remaster will happen though. I mean, HD 3D scenes were shown right before the KH3 teaser at the end of the 2.5 trailer. I could dig that
June 11, 201411 yr I think an HD release of DDD on the Wii U might be an appropriate step to take. I know it's another console, but the people that already played it don't need to play it again and it is a good game to bring in new fans because of memoirs section.

Afaik they said it was a mistake to spread it to so many consoles. Which is the reason for the remixes. Now having 2 remixes for the PS3 and then making another for the Wii U while KH3 won't be on it isn't a very good idea. Anyway. I really hope they make something for DDD though, it seems they are taking time to make Coded something more. It would be weird not to do the same for DDD.
June 11, 201411 yr No more Final Mixes goddammit. At least, no more that are Japanese-exclusive and take almost entire decades to release elsewhere.
June 11, 201411 yr Nomura himself said that Dream Drop Distance would not have a Final Mix version. I think we will most likely see it in KH3 in cutscene format, or maybe a bonus for clearing 2.5 completely? Hey, a guy can dream! Edited June 11, 201411 yr by Golden Fighter

All I'm saying is that if they do choose to make an HD update for DDD it would make much more sense to do so on a Nintendo console than the other options. It's also not technically spreading the series onto more consoles as the game is still available for 3DS and people don't need to play the HD remake to continue on with the series. I just don't see how they could logically remix DDD any other way and the Wii U could really use another solid title.

You are forgetting about people who are totally new to the series or people who can't afford to buy more than two consoles. The only way I could ever play Re:CoM, BBS and experience the story of Days and Coded by myself instead of looking it up on Youtube is thanks to these Remixes.

I find it highly unlikely that DDD will ever be released for PS3 or any other console as its gameplay mechanics were heavily designed for dual-screen interaction. (ie-reality shifts touch screen controls and dream eater mini games) The Wii U could offer a full console experience with the exact same mechanics and would simply be an opportunity for Wii U owners. Are you saying that you would rather have no HD remix for anyone than have it on a console you can't personally afford?

If 1.5 and 2.5 were for the WiiU, I would have bought a Wii U instead. If they were for the XBox 360, I would have bought a 360 instead etc. etc. But since it's made for the PS3 it wouldn't make sense for them to make another ReMix and make it exclusive for another console. And you are talking about an opportunity. About what? To play one game in the entire series while they won't be able to play the rest? What if they don't have a PS3 for 1.5 and 2.5? What if they won't buy a PS4 or an X1 for Kingdom Hearts III? Imagine if the new games were spread like that. 1.5 for PS3, 2.5 for Xbox and KH 3 for Wii U. It's like a slap on the face for the fans.
June 11, 201411 yr After seeing ''better'' quality of Kh3d scene's in the Kh3 teaser.. Maybe a Remake?

Kingdom Hearts 3 isn't coming out for another two-ish years at least and KH3D is not a new game. Plus I just don't see any way it would work on other consoles. For the record, it's not that hard to save up enough money to buy things if you're determined to play then next game in the series. I've saved up and bought every console needed to play every Kingdom Hearts game so it's not impossible.

They could inlude it with KH3.
June 12, 201411 yr It could work, not as a game but as a cinematic movie just like Days and Coded. They could inlude it with KH3. There is were I can't agree with you. People have been waiting far too long for KH3 to have anything thrown into it. KH3 has to be a stand alone project and it's not worth it to waste a bunch of space putting a game with such an unpopular storyline like DDD into what I hope to consider the greatest game of the decade. (at least for me) That is also considering that the gameplay of DDD is the main focus of the game. 358/2 Days and Re:Coded were on a very limited platform and were story focused to fill iin some holes that Nomura felt needed filling. The gameplay for both of those games wasn't anything particularly special. DDD on the other hand, has introduced one of the most popular gameplay mechanics in the series, and is centralized around great graphics and flashy gameplay. Not only do I think that a cinematic version of the game would be a waste, but I'm quite sure that it would be boring. The story drags on and only has highlights in the beginning and in the end. It could be remixed on the current Nintendo console or not at all.
