Through all the information we've received so far on the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III game, two things have been made clear in the storyline: it will focus on Sora, Donald, and Goofy finding the people connected to Sora's heart and Riku and Mickey searching for lost Keyblade wielders.

 

Now what, pray tell, does that say for our friends Kairi and Lea? What exactly are they going to be doing in KHIII?

 

Well, I have an idea of what that might be: since Lea is a brand new Keyblade wielder, and Kairi obviously has some kind of important agenda given that Riku brought her to the Mysterious Tower, the two will undergo training to properly wield their Keyblades and eventually join the others on their adventure to bring down Old Man Xeanort and his butt buddies.

 

Now this can be handled in a way that can give them some proper exposure and training overall, as well as give us a cool gameplay opportunity. How? Simple.

 

Make them the tutorial!

 

Yeah, think about it: in Kingdom Hearts II, we had control over Roxas for the Seven Days trial to learn basic controls and get a lay out of the game. The same can be said for Kairi and Lea. Yen Sid can probably stick them in some kind of training zone where we'll learn the basic controls like moving, locking on to targets, fighting with the Keyblade, using magic, and all that jazz.

 

And then maybe once this training is done, both of them will join the others. I can see Kairi hooking up with Sora (and no, I don't mean what you think it means lol) and I can see Lea palling around with Riku and Mickey, respectively. And maybe they can be optional playable characters for certain worlds or events, or maybe we can switch between them and the others at will like a Marvel Alliance game. All in due time, I guess. Also Kairi's role, overall, will most likely be more important that Lea's, considering that she's a Princess of Heart. 

 

Regardless, what do you think is in store for Kairi and Lea? What do you see them doing in KHIII?

The thing is though, the openings of 1 and 2 were cool and mysterious and super story important . This would just be a lame tutorial segment. What I think will happen is the opening will be a flashback of eraqus and xehanort.

For Kairi she'll train for a bit, do some "important" storyline plot stuff then get kidnapped by one of the 12 norts

Lea.....uh...maybe train and work back and forth from radiant garden and what not....prolly tagging along with Mickey and riku to save aqua.

I'm not necessarily talking about the opening sequence of the entire game. I'm talking about what Kairi and Lea will be doing in the game. The opening can be whatever it wants to be, and most likely, it will be a recap of the events the previous games, like most openings have been as of late.

Kairi will leave Sora for Lea and then Sora will join the dark side. Then the next series will start up!

Finally a thread that doesn't suggest Kairi an Lea teaming up together. I wouldn't mind controlling them during tutorial. Just make darn sure they stay far away from each other, given the history of one kidnapping the other...

Lea will do something sly as always. Probably talk to himself about Roxas, look and fight Isa, train, etc

Kairi will give a speech about how she is ready to fight and doesn't want to stay behind. The team will do something stupid and then is kidnapped by Xehanort. So, we will have to save her from Xehanort. 

I'm still going with, Kairi and Lea will be ona rescue mission together since there both pretty new wielders, plus it would be interesting see Kairi working together with someone that was going to use her to get to Sora.

As long as we get their tutorial in a Deep Dive to the Station of the Heart at some point, i'm fine with this.

I think that Mickey, Riku and Kairi will go on a picnic together in the Realm of Darkness, while Lea will continue training and help the former Organisation members adjust to being humans again. And, of course, Lea will show up and save the day when the plot requires him. Or he will try and find a way to save Saix.

You know Firaga, I really like your speculations and opinions.

 

As long as Kairi and Lea aren't a "duo" then I'm happy.

I don't mind Lea and Kairi teaming up, i like the idea, and maybe Lea can tease Kairi about Sora. i will like this to happen.

The one thing i wanna see is Kairi and Namine do a duo and go topless

 

Err, ignore what i said. Anyways I think they are just gonna keep sora and riku the main focus, like all the other games.

I think it's pretty likely for kairi and lea to be training with master yen sid, though if it does end up being part of the opening sequence I could see two ways they can make it interesting. 1. it would need to be feeding us some kind of information, even if it doesn't become relevant until later in the game. 2. We get to visit other worlds during this training, so we can feel like something is going on aside from just learning how to play. These world's would probably be slightly less fleshed out than later worlds to make them simpler, like destiny islands at the beginning of kh1 (though it would hopefully be a little bigger than that).

Not jealous. I find the concept of pairing kidnapper with their victim totally ok because the kidnapper is 'hot' very disturbing. Just as disturbing at real world case of women wanting some felon in Stockton, CA released and all charges dropped just because he was hot...

Well Lea has changed, Especially since he can carry a keyblade now. So why not?

I second this. The Eraqus/Xehanort relationship definitely needs to be explored further. How did they even meet? Who is the "Master" that taught them? I must know these things.

Besides I'm sure Lea is doing anything to get closer to Roxas they are best friends after all.

i think in the axel should be the playable tutorial charecter since he already possesses combat experience unlike kairi who has little to no combat experience after awhile he'll leave to do his own thing while riku and the king are searching for keyblade weilder's and sora's on his adventure gooby and doland are to find sora leaving kairi to keep practicing and try to make herself useful.

They're probably be there for emotional support sorry but kingdom hearts cant focus on everybody in one game so expect some people to be left behind.

That is an awesome idea Kairi needs more spot light.
