In all honesty, I'd prefer to wait for the game to release than getting it early.  That way, I have something to be hyped about!  Besides, I find it's more exciting that way! :3

Depends on the game, and how much more I have to pay. As much as I want Kingdom Hearts III, I wouldn't give an arm and a leg just to receive it earlier than the rest.

Peace!

If it's Final Fantasy XV or Kingdom Hearts III

I'd settle for a Day Zero Edition like Advanced Warfare had though

Depends on what the game is, and how much extra I have to pay. If it was a reasonable amount, I'd be all for getting a Pokemon or Smash Bros game early.

I don't even see how that could possibly work as a business strategy; why would a company not release a finished product to everyone it can for a reasonable price? Or rather, why lock out people who can't afford the average price of a new game for no particular reason?

it depends on the game. If it's a kingdom hearts game *coughkingdomhearts3cough* then I will be happy to pay more money to play it earlier

I usually have other things to worry about besides whatever video game I'm anticipating so the time I have to wait for a game to release goes by fast.

lolnope

Nope. I do like getting things around the release timeframe, but no way would I pay more to get it earlier.

If I had to pay $10 or less, maybe I would. But I think it's fun to play and explore the game the same time as others.

It gives it an exclusive feel similar to a sports car or designer clothing and games aren't released as soon as their finished dates are selected strategically so releasing a game early to a select few who would be willing to pay a lot more is actually a brilliant business strategy

I guess it depends on how much more one would pay and how much earlier they could get access to the game, but I can't imagine the kind of person that would knowingly pay more (presumably more than $60, the price of a typical new console game) to play a game than just wait until a guaranteed price drop to play the exact same game. They'd have to be so rich and spoiled on a level I have trouble comprehending.

I already have to pay $100 for a PS4 game.

What? They're only $60

No. As long as I get the game and play it, I don't care when I get it, even if it be 10 years later.

Typical Australian prices, eh?

Australia, mate.

It depends. If i get something extra or get to attend a special event (like a launch party) then yes.

They're $100 in Australia.

Depends on the game and the circumstances to be honest.

If it were a case of getting a game I really really want before hand then yeah sure. Happened last year with Pokemon X, one store was allowing people to buy it the day before it was supposed to be out and then a bunch of the stores around that had the copies did the same. I paid like €5 more for my copy but I got it a day earlier than I was supposed to.

... Probably explains why Pokemon OR/AS are out a week later than everyone else this year though.... :(

What? They're only $60

This isn't America. We have to pay alot more for games here

Wow. I didn't know that. PS4 games are region free. Why don't you just import?

When you add shipping the difference is even less. Plus I hate importing. I'd rather support my economy.

I do import. All the time. But the shipping makes it just as expensive. It costs alot to get something to Australia
